- retral, on 10/12/2007, -0/+67It's only a matter of time before someone makes a Digg defense game (defend your server from the onslaught of diggers after your site gets front-paged).
- Futurejunior, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38@ bRUTALkANOODLE,
I don't think you understand that writing a research paper is 90% procrastination, and 10% "oh *****" - quacker912, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29This game is really, really hard.
- g3cko, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Ehhh - it's not bad... but I think DesktopTD is 20x better - you actually have to design your own maze so there's a bit more strategy involved.

- psg188, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Research Paper? HA! I have a CS exam in 20 minutes, hope I remember to go...
- EnzanBlues, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Dugg. Very cool weapons and variety of them from other TD games. Rather short and easy however, beat the game at level 51 on my first try. Just build two machine guns at the beginning and upgrade them. Then start to position flamethrowers at the right locations. Build a bunch of ice towers to slow them and group them up. After that make a void tower and get upgrade it all the way because of the massive damage and area of effect when they are all bunched up. Then for the heck of it I built a light tower for the hugely massive damage it has.

Do not link flash? How about do not make your game so tiny lol. - MCGrunge1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Sadly, (and this is no joke...) that was the last level.
- speedy11309, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11how many levels are there in easy mode?
i got to 51 and died :-( - NickDaddyKing, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12great another 24 hours of my life wasted on a web game... STOP POSTING THESE!!!
- Winters, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Use ice towers. They have spash+stun. Even though the stun is short, the spash makes the units eventually group together. After that just use any area affect damage and you'll wipe out the group. With enough ice towers the clumps of units bearly move at all.
Just get the upgrade that makes a 0.25 second stun. Don't do the final upgrade, it only goes to 0.33 and cost too much. - Badman996, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Working Full screen:
http://games.armorgames.com/games0015/vrdefendery3k.swf - Tarran, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Using the regular strategies, saving up money while the first towers can still take out anything, max coverage, and so it's pretty easy to get the game to the point where it just starts to slow down. Apparently my system didn't like that many machine guns and flame throwers
- kerapolis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I wish my IT job were really this heroic...
- harrier666, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Screw you gecko. I was finally able to put DesktopTD down and do some work and now thanks to you I'm at risk of getting pink slipped again.
- Masterbaiter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7How to get to the last level without actually doing anything.
Step 1: Pause
Step 2: Resume
Step 3: Skip
Step 4: Repeat all of the above fast as possible. - Kahnza, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Damn this is dark. Can't see ***** captain! And it doesn't give me much time to figure it out before the creeps start coming.
- psg188, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Level 12 before I lose... I can't get enough money in order to abuse this supposed flaw in the game. How are you supposed to get past the big white circles and the little green triangles?? The flame thrower seems useless.
- Slacker101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Prince 373 you are definatly a spammer. From some company that this guy hired.
- markajanssen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I lose around level 5...even trying upgrades or variety of weapons...it's cool though...help?
- z3rgRush, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This is my built for 'hard'
http://img458.imageshack.us/img458/5867/towerkg1.jpg
The only lives I lost were during the lower levels before upping the juicy towers.
Bulk up on plenty of ice towers around the entrance and position 2 flame throwers in every corner to cover the entire line from every angle.
The ice towers don't really kick in until you've upgraded them to lvl 4. Keep your flame throwers at lvl 2 until you notice you need more damage.
As soon as you can comfortably afford it, only buy void towers and if needed a couple more ice towers (lvl 4 again).
Upgrade the void towers to lvl 2 and max out your flame throwers.
The towers you see on the far right were completely useless in mid- and end-game, but were required to survive the lower waves. - Firehed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Heh, me too. But did you skip class in order to write said paper?
There's $100 worth of class down the drain. It was totally worth it. - weister42, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Without reading the description I thought this was going to be "Tower defense game - defender NY."
- dirtymeal, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Mirror: http://www.armorgames.com/games/vrdefendery3k_popup.html
- Yoweigh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4enzanblues' strategy is very effective.
- JohnSteel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Rather short and easy however, beat the game at level 51 on my first try."
Man do I feel like *****. I have tried like 10 times and i get my teeth kicked in about level 13 each time. - Winters, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ok, try to have a flame thrower, with 1 or 2 upgrades before the large white dots come out. Put the flame throwers in a position that is lined up with a long straight path. Put it at the end, not the front, so that the units are moving into the fire stream and not out of it.
- stave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Strategy for Hard.. Two machine guns, each upgraded once, until you can afford a flamethrower. Flamethrowers at either end of the long part in the middle, one at the bottom right of the map for a total of three. Upgrade these for a bit, until you're killing things comfortably. Start in on building the block of nine ice towers, only upgrading them to level 4. Once you have six built, you start to get a bit of freedom. I went for the first void tower, then three more ice towers, the second void tower, the light tower, selling off the flamethrowers and machine guns, and upgrading the middle row of the nine ice towers to level 5. I spent most of the time upgrading the void/light towers, until the mid-40's, when creeps started threatening to get through. I built the upper ice towers in response, and threw in the lightning towers just to kill the final octagon.
http://img245.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture1iv9.png - Usodarake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3whats the strategy to beat it on very hard?
- Jagula, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ugh. Viruses are one thing, but no one is safe from the digg effect.
- SIRBERUS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i can't seem to win even on the easy one. I start with 2 guns, upgrade them, etc. etc. i can't seem to ever get the viruses under control enough to save money =(
- Necho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is "impossible" really impossible? Just to stop myself from going insane?
- z3rgRush, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Very hard:

http://i13.tinypic.com/4mtrxih.jpg - JohnSteel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I do the exact same placement and build and I get very different results. Sometimes I die early on and others I beat the game no problems.
- MusicalFeedback, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2lv 5? wow. I only tried it once and made it to 49. To start off, use the machine gun towers and upgrade them.
- Zeeton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I beat it on very hard
http://img256.imageshack.us/my.php?image=towerdefensead5.jpg - ConceptJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Um, wouldn't that be per shot?
Maybe you're just bad at it. - psg188, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Update: Flame throwers on the end of a hallway makes the game.
I beat it easily now cause after you get those flame throwers on the halls, you can afford ice towers, then I have about 20 of them and the game is a piece of cake. - MCGrunge1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2So I beat easy on my 1st try, now I've been attempting hard for like 2 hours... Can't get past wave 13. Anyone have any tips?
- borchard76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I was just on wave 28 (hard) but I need to quit and start working.
The game is interesting, but I got through the last 19 or so levels on only 2 health.... - bluearch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Finally beat Very Hard:
http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/1192/imgzg3.jpg
There is certainly an element of luck involved in this game as the damage done by guns vary. You'll need the damage to max out in the beginning levels in order to stand a chance. Also, the initial gun placement is critical. - giid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Finally beat it on level 51, I found upgrading a few machine guns to level 4 or 5 was the key. From there I was able to get a few flamer throwers and upgrade those, after that go nuts on upgraded ice towers. Then throw in lightning and void towers as desired. Kept on building more and more ice towers as the frozen masses started creeping past the first turn. Eventually sold the machine guns to replace with a few void towers with good position.
- bigdaddyrex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Any Flashers out there have information (articles, tutorials, FLAs, etc...) on how to make a game like this? Is there any starting source code that's freely available? I have the knowledge but don't really have the time...
- mepawl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is really awesome! Man this is so addicting, but I guess I can't get really far (the second wave of the green triangles)..oh well! Thanks for sharing!
- degaussenator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1[spoiler] To beat the game on the "really hard" setting, you can start with 2 machine guns (each placed near the center of each of the two curves). Upgrade the machine guns 2-4 levels, and then build a flamethrower at the bottom of the longest segment on the map. In order to get past the 13th level (in my case anyway), I had to build a second flamethrower right beneath the first one, and then keep upgrading the two ASAP. Once you've got enough power to hold off the crawlers after level 15+, start building ice cannons everywhere and upgrade them like crazy. After that you I found that I had more flexibility to be creative (I added 2 more flame throwers, lots more ice cannons and heavily upgraded void towers and lightning towers). Note that the crawlers at the end have ridiculous life and tons of armor, so make sure to have a bunch of armor piercing weapons ready.
- DigitalPioneer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1SIGSEGV!!! That alone tells me the designer knew what he was doing. :D
That aside, fun game! One of the better TDs I've tried. - Thuggish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I beat it on easy and on hard. My only gripe so far is that it's hard to see because it's so dark ... especially in a well lit office environment =x
- JohnSteel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3There is a HUGE random factor built in to this game. Machine gun base damage is 3-6. So if you get unlucky your shots are crippled to half power. And it gets worse with the flamethrower. No wonder why I was getting the ***** kicked out of me while others beat it on their first try. Buried for crippling a game of skill in to a game of you just gotta get lucky.
- MCGrunge1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1After you click start the first time, use the up and down arrows to change the map, then hit start again.
