- Sepeteus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+66Felt like work for me too. What next? An accounting game?
- Ungh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+47Was pretty easy to manage the Tower of Terror... Although, it did seem more like work than a game... {Begin Conspiracy Theory} Is this a secret Disney recruiting tool??? {End Conspiracy Theory}
- ki85squared, on 10/12/2007, -1/+39I was hoping to have a replica ride control panel to work with. I've always wanted to push the big red button on one of those...
- MykeXero, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35As a former ride operator at Disneyland California, i can attest that these are kinda simplistic but interesting representations of the science that goes on behind the scenes. Bravo!
- DonSlice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23The Disney park engineers aren't "engineers." They're "imagineers."
- 2Deluxe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23I gave up when the people walking over the tracks didn't get smooshed :-{
- dassin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26Mind.... Numbing... gah.
- FoxtrotYankee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+22With question marks and capital letters.
- CelebVoy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19I think I will stick with killing zombies
- The_Hidden_Ice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17I wish it would speed up the people a little more and have some sort of scoring or counter.
- dpknc84, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15The elevators are weird and you have to operate them in this order:
1) In maintenance turn on/off the elevators you want to use.
2) Click "Doors" and wait for the light to go from orange to off.
3) The light next to "Board" will be green. Click "Board".
4) The light next to "Start Elevator" will be green. Click "Start Elevator".
XP and FF2, works fine for me. - m00dy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12how can we kill them
- Idietired, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I would have just loved to sit in on this pitch for a game idea to the Disney Execs:
"Just think ... it's 'Sims' meets 'Roller Coaster Tycoon' meets 'Diner Dash!' Now kids can feel what it's like to be part of the exciting life of a Disney 'cast member,' and they don't even have to leave their chairs and get real jobs!"
"Johnson, that's brilliant. Here's a raise, make it happen."
**Just for reference, Disney parks don't call their staff "employees," they call them "cast members." I've never worked for a Disney park ... which makes the fact that I know that very, very sad. - Sharky35, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Maybe we are operating the actual rides....
Internet out-sourcing? - DJCult, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9What, like Ender's Game?
- firepunk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9as a current RO at big thunder mountain at Disneyland, I couldn't be bothered to actually play it because in a few short precious hours I will be loading stinking guests, who 50% don't speak English or can't follow simple instructions, into the trains. It's not as magical as some would believe.
- airwalkery2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Yeah! It felt like I was there myself as an underpaid employee with a boring job that really should be more interesting than it is. It could have used more kids screaming at my face and parents screaming at their kids to shut up, however, to really make it realistic.
- targetX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Your definition of a 'game' must be very odd then... This felt like work, not like a game...
- HesNikke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7and the employees only area is called "Back Stage" - i've been there. i've been sworn to secrecy. so let me just tell you, it's so much funner seeing the OTHER side of the magic. :P
- joel8x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I wouldn't call the ride crappy - I think its one of the best rides in all of Disney World!
- Bahimiron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hand on to your hats an' glasses folks, cuz this here's the mildest ride in the wilderness! Yeeehaaaaw!
- marnaq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Oow, man. That game ruled. Does it run in wine?
- Bahimiron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Woah. Some people don't speak English? Gross! Why do you allow people (in California) who can't speak English into the park at all? That seems illegal!
- Daedalus275, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5*Plays SimTower instead*
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -1/+5Yeah, especially a big theme park like this that attracts many foreign tourists! They should get English lessons before they're admitted!
- speedyrev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That felt like work, do I get a paycheck now?
- thebeck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4And instead of lining up they all just move into one spot and disappear forever. Good idea but needs work.
- digglets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That would be the Dutch word for "Train", as the creators of this game, happen to be Dutch (look at the domain .NL - Netherlands). Hope that clarifies it for you.
- iSamurai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2One of my teachers worked at Disneyland for a long time as a college student. He tells us stories every week, and I'm sure he's letting out secrets he shouldn't be. He mentioned that up until last year, he made more money working there then as a teacher too.
They have patented scents for the rides? That's pretty crazy. - UncleHenry, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7This was interesting for me though, who spend 4 years as a ride operator at Kings Island amusement park. Tomb Raider works much like these rides, with pre-show rooms and all. Kinda interesting for me.
- doublsh0t, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this could be like the disney version of Wargames!
- Time4SumWupAzz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Even and idiot like me could work at Disney.
http://wupazz2.blogspot.com/ - adamwho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In an MBA class I was in they used games like this all the time. Mostly for operations and logistics, these games need a little work before they are ready to be used as a teaching tool.
- PhirePhly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It was disappointing cause it's all so nice, but just not finished... the lines didn't work at all on thunder mountain...
- t2t2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1On winXP without changing compatibility - Works like many many years before.
- thegoodsteer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This is hysterical
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1LAME! I was pumped for a 3d ride.. like flash or something where you can turn your head =(( that would rule.. for like splash mountain
- UncleHenry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14762 on Phantom Manor
- Rach1251, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Haha, I think you're onto something
- chaos7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1these suck
- Radar5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1maybe because it's because I've never been to disney and don't know how the rides work, but this was terrible.
- NDAProphet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Fun way to kill some time and feel a slight pang of nostalgia.
- altf4exits, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Quick! Everyone go digg the game I posted where you bag groceries
- ogmak, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Newfound appreciation of what disney workers go through...especially when ppl start screaming at them cuz it's the "worker's" fault when lines are too bigg....
I dont think i'd be able to do it... - thebeck, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Yeah buggy, you can just keep loading people onto the train. What, are they just sitting on the poor people who were there first?
- mikelieman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I think that illustrates the overall lack of real "E-Ticket" quality rides.
- DrummerBones, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1and they don't call their engineers engineers, they call them "Imagineers"
[EDIT] Damn you onslice you got me on that one. Anyways...
I wish where I worked I could be called an imagineer rather then an engineer, It would make my work seem a little less robotic. - BlackPawn, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1No killing... No weapons... No head explosions... this isn't a game at all!
- zoogelsnof, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0this game sucks, why does it keep getting dugg?
- TimRogers, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3This game owns.
