- Artifez, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13It annoys me that the first thing you do in the game is schedule "research" that takes 8 hours to complete, lame.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Funny. That's how skill training works in EVE online.
- OropheR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7All tick based mmog are the same. It takes time to research and develop. The primary R&D are short in time, simple to understand. Then, it becomes more complex and interesting. Its not a 5 minutes game...it will last months. Ideal for people often working with computers.
- RiG0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The best part of the game is the community. The actual game play is secondary.
- Recluse, on 10/12/2007, -11/+7Not much of a "game" then is it?
- Pauliniho, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14Actually, yes it is.
Have you actually tried it, or did you think of that witty comment first and just had to type it before you forgot? - Bereft, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The game is great, The community makes it even better. You can easily just check it a few times a day and have fun, but the more you get into the community of the game, the more fun it becomes
Come and try it, and you will quickly find yourself addicted.
- jbigdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Like Rig0 says, this game is mostly about the community.
What I like about the game itself is that it is not very time consuming (for most :P). All you've got to do is check in on it 2 or 3 times a day for 5-10 min. to keep up. - rickbauls, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11Hmm... excuse my ignorance, but what is a MMOG?
- manfrin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Massive Multiplayer Online Game
- rickbauls, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Danke
- Dested, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Seems kinda nuked.... Wont verify my email addy.
- PowerCat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Wow I remember playing this about a year ago.
Great game.
Thanks for reviving my interest :) - BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Hmm... this game seems a lot like Outwar, Kings of Chaos, Dark-Gate, NeuAge, and all those other knockoffs... except set in space.
It seems a lot "deeper" and interesting, though. I'll give it a shot. - PowerCat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3By the way for anyone who wants to play this game, check out this site

It's a wiki for the game, lots of good info! - bigstinky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"Like never before, you will realise the powerfull and devastator effects of an army of attacking walrus, how efficient can be kangoroos to defend your lands... " Uh...what? I demand to know which translation software the fellow who wrote the copy used. Or was it the guy who wrote the script for Resident Evil?
- Hootyea, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Furries and *****, yo'.
My homie's got an army full o' those WILD *****' monkies. - OropheR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I did not use any translation software, this is the original review. You do play with animals in the game. And my english sucks too.
- bigstinky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@OropheR...I did not mean to insult you. I was referencing the review, not your copy.
- Hootyea, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Furries and *****, yo'.
- Rodalli, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Engrish is so awesome.
- Perno, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Engrish, good stuff!
- tagnarth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was hoping this was going to be XUL based. Haven't seen many new XUL based applications lately.
- input, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4One word:
"Furries." - Zyk0tiK, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Damn thing sucks, everything is in Spanish!
Anyone know how to change that?- RiG0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You must have the Taco Bell mod.
We are aware of that issue and are working to resolve it.
- RiG0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You must have the Taco Bell mod.
- Pauliniho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2A superb game with a fantastic community, that i've been addicted to for well over a year now.
WARNING: Can be dangerously immersive - BrunoX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Fantastic Game let me tell you :)
- TheAceOfSpades, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Fantastical!
- venomsheru, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Paul, you are being Polite :P
Nice Game - Evo . - Pauliniho, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0I'm always polite. Ask anyone :P
- roostishaw, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2No digg after nearly going blind by switching tabs back to digg, which has a white background.
- Daisuke, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9okay, that's about the dumbest reason I've ever heard to not digg a story :P
- Encryption, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A good game, like it has been said, the community is the best part.
One nice thing is that you can devote as much or as little time to the game as you want, if you only want to log in once per day, that's fine go ahead. The open forums, IRC channels, and sense of community that you get is irreplaceable, and unlike any other game I have seen. Everything consists of player interaction, and because of the tight-knit community, (a little like the Digg elite), most of the players know each other well. I've heard critiques that the game takes too long - I used to think the same way. Once you start entering politics though, negotiations can take hours. There are a few bugs, but the people are great. - GeckoesAlterEgo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4most online community games spawn new words...ours is Evodict
Evodicts live their lives in ticks not hours
Evodicts have at least one clock set to GMT (the game runs on GMT)
Evodicts cant wait to get home to check on their status.
I am recovering Evodict.
Evo beckons, will you answer the call? - shoonya, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1i have been playing the game since dec last. Its fun and addictive and my body clock truly runs on GMT :D
Join up and evolve - sunnyboy06, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1rofl. This must have been an IRC challange or something :P.
- ollj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1A browser game with ***** (literally) furries on the frontpage:
I Imagine a "battle" being something like this (nsfw) :
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/330027
Not a game, a comunity, ooooh jeah.- Pauliniho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The "furries" in question have nothing to do with the game. They're an advert for another Browser game "Adventure Quest".
Ads and dontations keep the game free for everyone, and if you DO donate, you can turn the ads off (Not that they're exactly intrusive in the first place)
- Pauliniho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The "furries" in question have nothing to do with the game. They're an advert for another Browser game "Adventure Quest".
- gun1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it's a great fun game with a great community and it doesn't have to take up all your time you can just login every so often unless you get addicted :)
- thejackofclubs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1whoot. been playing for over a year and still love it. come parteh with us. :)
- giggsey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The game itself is great, addictive, and good fun spread over a good few months.
The IRC side of it is great, good guys/gals on IRC all the time, and its a laugh.
I haven't really been much of a forum user, but from the small bits I've seen of it, the staff are friendly, and want to help.
A good game, and I highly recommend it :D- thejackofclubs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.thejackofclubs.dyndns.org/evo/irc/
^java based irc client for saying hi to us bitches in irc. :)

- jamiegrinstead, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great game... One of the few online games to keep me playing for over a couple of months (Now 14 months and counting)
- snigeb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i've been addicted for ages. It is slightly slow to start but worth it to keep playing. The Community is eager to help you so introduce yourself and ask questions on the forums!
- UberlordQ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love EVO!
*warning* May steal half of your life and expect yourself to think about it waaaaaaaaaaay too much
(i know i do anyway) - Necroscope7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've only been playing for a month or so, but I've spent so much time talking with people through IRC and the forums, that it has flown by. Wish I had found it sooner, and all of the different extensions and whatnot for Firefox make it easy to monitor without constantly being on the page for it. There's even a status thing you can add to your google homepage for it.

yay! fun!- OropheR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1We do not want to destroy your social life. This game is addicting enough.
- OropheR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Game is down for a couple of hours. It will be back shortly so make sure you get your towel and do not panick.
- DWsFey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1EVO soooo rocks!!!
Hey everyone. I've been playin Evolution since ~ June of '05. I've never played a game that was so addictive!
The guys have it right...it's all about the community. I have met folks from all over the world and now count them as friends. Not only are there folks of various nationalities...but also there are males AND females (such as yours truly...I'm just female... not both..lol) and there are folks of all ages. I'm not sure what the youngest player is but I'm pretty sure it was under 10, and the eldest player is ~62. However, I think that the majority range from 13-early 30's
Neon has made the game so addictive by incorporating many ways of communicating. As an alliance leader, I've used them all.
First, there are the in-game forums. Here you can keep up with your alliance's activities and keep in the know on politics as well as learn more about the game... or even submit game suggestions. Then, there's IRC. That's where I fell in love...and have been hooked on the game since.. ;) We also now have live voice chat via Ventrilo. Additionally, many of us have added each other to our personal IM clients. This makes game play truly interesting and more real.
Yes, you can keep the game up by only logging in a couple times a day. You can play as little or be as active as you so choose. And, there are different alliances for different playing styles. However, the more active and aggressive alliances always finish at the top.
Another thing that is really addictive is that with this game, there can be opportunity to contribute. There are many who have stepped up and created Firefox plug-ins or add-ons for the game, oping in IRC or forums, and in many, many other ways. It's totally awesome to be able to help in the formulation and EVOLUTION of a game.
Yes, the r&d is a bit slow at first, but that gives one time to immerse themselves into the community and discover the politics and subtle nuances that drive the alliances in game play. You will quickly discover that even tho the game is set in outer space; you fight with wacky critters; and learn a lot of math as well as techy stuff; this game is actually about and set upon the economical, societal, and political issues that mirror those we deal with on a daily basis in real life. Only in Evolution, you have a voice and can become a force to either end the reign of terror of a certain alliance or just certain players...even oust alliance leaders. I've seen it all. lol
At any rate... check out Evolution. Give it at least a month. Make sure you come to IRC or vent and introduce yourself. We'll leave the light on for ya. ;)
