- cerealjynx, on 05/19/2009, -1/+73Shell of a game, eh?
TMNT MMO! - somestranger26, on 05/19/2009, -9/+80Old as hell; Blizzard announced they were working on an undisclosed MMO over a year ago.
- frsrblch, on 05/19/2009, -1/+44"Last week, Activision Blizzard announced that it had exceeded expectations and pocketed $981 million for the January-March quarter."
That's insane. They made nearly a billion dollars in 3 months. - Pebcak, on 05/19/2009, -0/+34Great, so we'll see this in, what? 8 years?
- tonychenyj, on 05/19/2009, -3/+33Come on Blizzard, when will Diablo 3 release? I can't wait any longer.
- camaroz06, on 05/19/2009, -3/+20Steampunk set world anyone?
Ahh is probably just me that would be interested... - blah247, on 05/19/2009, -0/+15See yas in 5 years.
- teamr, on 05/19/2009, -3/+18I guess you didnt get the memo but Blizzard isnt a single development team. It's multiple groups of people working on multiple projects. Imagine that
- Shawn4168, on 05/19/2009, -6/+20Starcraft 2 first.
- murk, on 05/19/2009, -1/+14"it'll be a brand-new franchise, which means the lore, art, and gameplay are being developed entirely from scratch."
Did you even read the description? - icebane, on 05/19/2009, -3/+15D3 > SC2
- amorrise, on 05/19/2009, -1/+13And there goes the rest of my time.
- rdaryl, on 05/19/2009, -0/+12If that's the case, then there is one word that can describe this: COWABUNGA!!!
- str1fe, on 05/19/2009, -0/+11When It's Ready™
- EMFK, on 05/19/2009, -4/+15FTA: "The revelation comes after previous admissions by Blizzard that a new MMOG was in the works, though this is the first time that Blizzard admitted the game was a new franchise."
I know this game too well when it comes to Blizzard. Anyways, I am still waiting for Diablo III. - TheXboxReview, on 05/19/2009, -1/+11We want Starcraft 2 and we want it...... NOOOWWWW
- jon30041, on 05/19/2009, -1/+10Considering their own formula produces great stuff... I think I'll trust their judgment over yours. Sorry, guy.
They want their games to be BETTER, not out faster. - brinkofjon, on 05/19/2009, -0/+9I'm pulling for a Howard the Duck MMO
- 3Y3CON, on 05/19/2009, -3/+12A new blizzard game? You know it's going to be good, everything they touch is gold.
- GregLoire, on 05/19/2009, -0/+8Ummm, no... My stock is still down about 24% since I bought it, and I don't think year-old information about one of their projects being posted on Digg is going to cause a surge anytime soon.
- AmericanGunner, on 05/19/2009, -1/+9even the gold rings they touch, they stay gold.
- canada42, on 05/19/2009, -1/+9You people have clearly not played wintergrasp. There's lag, and then on an entirely new tier is WG. There's a reason they made the new quests weekly instead of daily. Its not his PC that crashes entire servers.
- Wuss, on 05/19/2009, -0/+8Reality MMORPG, in which you play a game developer in a virtual game studio leveling up to produce an mmorpg.
- canada42, on 05/19/2009, -1/+9That's actually untrue, they announced some time ago that it would not be part of any existing blizzard universe.
- thegrizz51, on 05/19/2009, -0/+8Easy there, J.G. Wentworth!!!
- norman619, on 05/19/2009, -0/+7You don't have to play games. You just turn off the computer and go out, spend times with family, reconnect with friends, or whatever you wanna do. Blaming a game or a game company for the weakness of some peopel is incredibly stupid. People need to own their own stupid decisions.
- bradmw2, on 05/19/2009, -1/+8Coooome onnnnn World of Low-Pay Desk Jobs!
- Mike17102, on 05/19/2009, -4/+11Do you want a game that plays itself for you? One where they send you epics in the mail?
WoW is as casual as MMOs get. - teamr, on 05/19/2009, -0/+7Yeah, I gotta agree with Mike. WoW is the most casual friendly MMORPG ever. Especially since WOTLK where one is never more than 30 minutes away from epic loot
- Tyrghast, on 05/19/2009, -0/+6Blizzard say: Not until it's finished!
- scootra, on 05/19/2009, -0/+6They have already done fantasy and sci-fi. What do you think this one will be?
- Crimsoneer, on 05/19/2009, -0/+6Care to give us the exact date too seeing you're spouting random dates with no basis at all?
Blizzard release dates are incredibly hard to predict: Starcraft II was playable and solid nearly 2 years ago, and still is far from release. - kierucom, on 05/19/2009, -0/+6I don't care that they are working on the shell of some new IP. Great for Blizzard; but give me some information on games we might realistically see in a year or so - like Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2.
- mozzep, on 05/19/2009, -0/+6That's revenue. Their net was 180.
- supradave, on 05/19/2009, -2/+7It's going to be a Western. Cowboys and Native Americans and John Wayne and such. That'd be cool.
- FKnight, on 05/19/2009, -0/+5I don't know why you're getting buried. That's a great idea.
- frostbyt, on 05/19/2009, -0/+5Just 5? That is too soon for Blizzard. You must mean that is when the pre alpha is going to be ready.
- cJw314, on 05/19/2009, -0/+5So... don't... ...grind?
- Rikushix, on 05/19/2009, -0/+5As opposed to you, because clearly you're commenting on a digg submission on your Macbook Air from the hottest club in NY.
- Linake, on 05/19/2009, -1/+6The Gnomes in WoW are already sort of steampunk... sort of ;)
- FKnight, on 05/19/2009, -0/+5@0firefly0
Learn WTF you're talking about before making comments. Lag in Wintergrasp is a Blizzard acknowledged server load issue. People are getting 100FPS on brand new computers and getting 10 second delays before spells are cast in this zone during battle and high population servers are crashing when battle starts. - Daggorath, on 05/19/2009, -1/+5And this is why I Love them, they serve no game before it's time...
- m0rdecai, on 05/19/2009, -0/+4http://digg.com/gaming_news/Blizzard_Confirms_New_ ...
- d3sp, on 05/19/2009, -0/+4Haha like PvE should come into the discussion at all. Bring on the Red servers ;)
- scuba7183, on 05/19/2009, -1/+5***** gnomes
- slaystench, on 05/19/2009, -0/+4old as hell.
- str1fe, on 05/19/2009, -0/+4If you want a company that puts games out using your formula, give EA out for a spin and tell us how that works out for you.
I'd rather have a fun game two years from now than a game I'll never want to play now. - Beerduck, on 05/19/2009, -0/+4How about steampunk?
- DoodleMaster, on 05/19/2009, -1/+5TURTLES COUNT IT OFF!
- tibbon, on 05/19/2009, -2/+6Wow, really? You mean Blizzard wasn't just going to keep a single MMO going forever and never make something new? With all that money coming in, they weren't going to develop anything else? shocking!
