- irfanmp, on 08/01/2008, -2/+66It's obviously going to be that Warcraft sequel which I heard about (from the Onion). It lets you play a character who is playing Warcraft.
- kinseyincanada, on 08/01/2008, -1/+30World of Warcraft 2
- Ymeg, on 08/01/2008, -0/+27Galaxy of Starcraft?
Dungeons of Diablo?
They said it will not be WoW related.. I hope it involves that purple penguin :D - joshcxa, on 08/01/2008, -1/+23As much as i like starcraft, I kinda hope they don't do an MMO version
- debuggercll, on 08/01/2008, -5/+23If 15 bucks a month is too much for you, you have bigger things to worry about than video games.
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -1/+19As much as I love Blizzard's current franchises, it would be awesome to see what new universes they have the capacity to create.
- BedPost, on 08/01/2008, -0/+18World of World of Warcraft will rock my world.
- dylio, on 08/01/2008, -1/+17If you think that Diablo 3, even SC 2 are coming out this decade, think again. It's Blizzard, remember?
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+15They made a typo in the article saying "Starcraft 2" when I'm pretty damn sure they were referring to the original SC.
- DforSpiD, on 08/01/2008, -0/+13World of Pokemon!
- tama00, on 08/01/2008, -9/+22Am i the only person who didnt like WoW? I played it for 2 hours and thought damn this game is boring..
"Go kill 10 bores", "Go kill 11 bores", "Go kill 15 bores and bring me their horns", "Just go kill some bores"... - medfreak, on 08/01/2008, -0/+13Diablo 3 Could grab a lot of WoW players.

If there is no monthly fees, I bet a large bunch will move to Diablo 3. - clearwaterlab, on 08/01/2008, -2/+12Hear, hear, *****.
- Kazaki, on 08/01/2008, -0/+10Why would a strategy game claim a large percentage of the MMO market?
- norman619, on 08/01/2008, -0/+9At least in Korea it will be.
- ipoopy, on 08/01/2008, -0/+8Lost Vikings MMO!
- debuggercll, on 08/01/2008, -0/+8Warcarft 4: Arthas Goes To Camp!
- MattQC, on 08/01/2008, -0/+8Subscribers? Guild wars doesn't have a monthly fee.
- unnes, on 08/01/2008, -2/+10As long as there aren't gnome rogues, I'm excited.
I'm not generally a proponent of genocide, but I'll make an exception for gnomes. - Itsatrapackbar, on 08/01/2008, -2/+9The end of 2008 is going to be huge for Blizzard: Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, WoW WotLK. I nominate them for winning the internet.
- edgedmurasame, on 08/01/2008, -0/+7Fine if it gets rid of the goldfarmers.
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -1/+7Diablo 3 and SC 2 will both be more successful, at least temporarily.
- Edrick, on 08/01/2008, -0/+6Is blaming a game for your addiction retarded? Yes it is.
- xamado, on 08/01/2008, -0/+6They are of course referring to WoM... World of Murlocs
- MistyEstelle, on 08/01/2008, -0/+6""I don't believe that WoW is untouchable," he said. "I completely believe that a game could come out and be more successful than WoW. I'm hoping that we're working on it right now.""
Regardless of whether its true or not, I found that comment to be pretty funny/gutsy. Create their own competition before someone else does? XD - inactive, on 08/01/2008, -1/+7World of World of Warcraft
- str1fe, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5No, you want http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?forum ...
- unnes, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5I take some solace in the fact that all the people wearing T6 epics today will be back to wearing silly level 71 greens the day after WotLK comes out.
- Trentish, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5Kotaku really needs to proofread that sucker or start throwing some [sic]s around.
- inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5MMORPG saturation has been reached..........
- MistyEstelle, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5The game itself doesn't make people have no life... the only people I've known to become the stereotype WoW player were the ones that have very obsessive personalities in general.
I think Blizzard is a success because of the sheer number of players they have and their generated revenue.. and the fact that they don't seem to be sitting on that money, but are instead putting it into making more games that in turn will make them more money... - Velnich, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5As well done as WoW is, there is certainly vast room for improvement. No one seems to agree with me, but the cookie cutter buildings and impractical geography has always bothered me. It's a game and a fantasy game at that, I get it, but some more immersion would be loverly.
- ZOMGitsRadimus, on 08/01/2008, -1/+6Kinda true, WoW was a bit boring at first, but after level 30, the game got a lot more fun and had more meaning. I played WoW for about 3 years and had a lot of fun with it, and even managed to make a bit over $1000 (Selling gold to friends, my account, and a 'Spectral Tiger' card on eBay), I also became a well known forum dweller and the first official "Hero of the Horde" on the Stormreaver server, people really seemed to like me and my crazy antics. As one person said, also a forum troll and one of the most well known WoW players, I had become a legendary player for the Stormreaver community.
I quit though because it was taking up too much of my time and I had to try and dedicate more time to school and social life. I haven't played for 9 months, but sadly, many of my friends quit for a bit, then went right back to it. I've kept the repel up from it by buying a PS3 and going out with friends. - mrlogical, on 08/01/2008, -2/+7This just in, Company thinks its latest Product will be its Best Yet and everyone should buy it!
- belfastbiker, on 08/01/2008, -0/+4Sorry, but no matter how much T4/S2/Crafted/AH/Badge/other purple gear you have, some people will never have the co-ordination and teamwork to take down Gruul, Magtheridon, many of the bosses in ZA, or anything else from there on.
And then of course anyone who says you don't need teamwork/communication/quick reactions/superb judgement/skills in say Arena or against a pre-made team in EotS/WSG/AB is barking mad.
Yes, time helps you acquire those lovely purples, but people who say WoW requires *only* time clearly haven't the experience with the game to say that and be close to anything resembling truth. - WhiskeyLemur, on 06/30/2009, -0/+4"//oops meant as reply to 1st one...."
If you can edit a comment, you can delete it.... - dhVyse, on 08/01/2008, -0/+4HA, So true, don't know why you're getting dugg down.
- Bjango, on 08/01/2008, -1/+5Warcraft 4....
They could even introduce the Naga as a full playable race, almost like they did in The Frozen Throne.
It would be epic. - inactive, on 08/01/2008, -0/+4if that's the case will the monthly subscription price be lowered? 15 bucks a month is a lot of money to some people.
- CoreyTamas, on 08/01/2008, -0/+4The measure of whether it works... the ONLY measure as far as the publisher is concerned... is whether or not the game is accepted by the targeted market. Graphics and servers are not an end in themselves; they are valuable only to the extent that they make the game appealing to the player.
You say "dropped the ball", but ten million accounts (including one million players *concurrently* at all times in China) say Blizzard put this one between the goal posts. I'd say that's worth giving due consideration. - eeemart, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3I'M NOT ADDICTED, I CAN STOP WHENEVER I WANT!! shhh... just kidding baby, i'll be right back my precious game. we'll go get some sweet purple swag again, baby... yes we will...
- Xeller, on 08/01/2008, -1/+4Let's see... Let's assume for a moment that you're a teenager with no work experience, working a part-time job. Your family, if not upper-class, isn't starving seeing as how you have a computer capable of running an MMO and you have internet service.
Minus the time for school, you work 3 days a week, 5 hour shifts. At (federal) minimum wage, you'll be making $5.85 x 15. That's $87.75 before taxes. Let's just exaggerate state taxes and assume you're making $60 a week. That comes up to be $240 a month.
Subtract some basic expenditures like haircuts, pharmaceuticals, school supplies, etc., you should still be netting $150 a month.
Since you're probably living at home being the teen that you are, with no other major expenditures, that gives you enough money to play a MMO, start saving money, and still have enough money for a good social life.
Conclusion: If you're working, you can afford it. - qwertydvorak, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3as long as d2 has stayed on the shelves for sale, i don't understand why they didn't come out with at least 1 if not 2 more expansions.
- mustang460, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3they already do
- lithera, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3Blizzard succeeded in what alchemists have been trying to do for centuries. Everything they touch turns into gold.
I have no doubt that WoW will be dethroned as the King of Games someday but it will be a suicide executed by Blizzard itself. No other developer has the heart, soul, time, devotion and money to do that currently. - d3sp, on 08/01/2008, -1/+4Annoying, makes me think the interviewer has no idea what the ***** they're talking about..
- Nojiko, on 08/01/2008, -1/+4He's referring to the amount of time investment required to attain high level/gear, thus letting you beat other people by outleveling them/out gearing them.
No skill necessary, just time. - Managua8Green, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3NO!!!!!
- Namco, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3Warcraft Underground 2: Street 09
- yohnstoppable, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3Rofl, it's sad that I actually remember you from the forums. You were the guy with 1337 dishonorable kills, right? :D
Forum trolling was always fun. Some people took that game so seriously that you could REALLY get under thier skin. Good times, although I also had to move on. Haven't played for over a year now, because I just got tired of it. -
