Awesome open-source turn-based strategy game/RPG. You can't play it in a browser though, which I guess boots it off this list? - ibone, on 10/22/2007, -1/+10"5 Great (And Free) Games You’re Not Playing Now"
And you still aren't playing... - resplence, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Yes! Frustration really fits my definition of "so much fun".
- TannerLD, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8BZFlag is a good free and open source game.
- GregLoire, on 10/17/2007, -1/+8Warbears is pretty huge. The file on Newgrounds alone has nearly a million views, and the game is everywhere on the web. It's a great game that's definitely worthy of the attention, but it's hardly an underdog in the Flash world.
- themastersb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Sure these are great games that I'm not playing now. Only because I've already played them.
- jockser, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4But if you're into some challenge - digg comment system.
- qbitus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Cave Story, BZFlag & XMoto are great... but this story was posted under "playable web games" people...
- Narcowski, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3How about "5 Flash Games you beat a long time ago"?
- Dokument, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4now i am.
- sigsegfalt, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Tux Racer!
- chibimmy, on 10/11/2007, -6/+8Cave Story should be on this list. This list is bogus.
- MrMacMan, on 10/20/2007, -2/+4*SPOILER ALERT*
The correct sequence is:
People, Water, Seeds, Bucket, Clear Tube, Fire, Dish, Bone, Spring, Ball
*SPOILER* - senorcool, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Growcube is so great. All of the creators games are so much fun. Don't try Chronon unless you want to spend a lot of frustrated time on it.
- RyGiL, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Although not technically "free", if you visit the steam and other Half-life 2 boards, you can find people giving away their "invite" versions of HL2. I'll probably give mine away too soon since most of my friends already have it.
NOTE: For those who don't know, the reason this is possible is for people who already own HL2 and bought Orange Box, which includes HL2 and allows the purchaser to give away the HL2 if they already own it. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Um - what's up with growcube! It's really a neat idea - well executed, but I can't seem to make any progress on it. All I can figure out is that spring is 2nd to last and ball is last.
- NewPunk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Tanks is a ripoff of Scorched Earth way back from DOS days man... that game was awesome.
- JudgeMonkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm going to go with your guts.
- manonfire285, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1912
- tech42er, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2"Jane "Game Girl Advance" Pinckard unveils her hot list..."
I was disappointed. - JudgeMonkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Neither really, it's a what-order-to-do-things in kinda game. I'm quite enjoying it.
- Indacelio, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Hear, hear! It looks like most of this list is puzzle-type games. Cave Story is one of the best freeware games out there... it's like the best parts of Zelda, Metroid and Castlevania glued together into a classic-looking sidescroller.
Also, Eternal Daughter, another excellent platformer, if a bit aggravatingly difficult...
EDIT: Just noticed that this was for playable web games. Even so... And if that's the case, they ought to re-title it. - rdoger6424, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Vegastrike FTW
http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net - neko, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Enigma. http://www.nongnu.org/enigma/
- mlvassallo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I AM playing Scrabulous!
- mr3looc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Has anyone figured out the order for growcube yet?
- CatalystGhost, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, and my gut instinct tells me you're retarded, so, dugg down?
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -1/+2People still play the lame "link other people to this website so your character can grow" games?... Wow.
- Toshibi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Scorched Earth 3D is pretty cool....for a while.
- digitali16, on 07/30/2009, -0/+1I like to play the games eye candy like memory games sometimes.
Like the DOA Girls memory game
http://www.hotgamesbox.com/hot-games/DOA-Girls-Mem ... - GregLoire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That was not my point at all.
- aakag, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1AIR FIGHTERS - Realistic dog fight game
Fight with 8 opponent planes in the sky for one minute and try to kill them all..
http://www.shockland.com/games/airfighters/airfigh ... - Cyberdactyl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Everyone certainly remembers the game that swept the awards in 1998 as game of the year. . .BATTLEZONE. An exceptionally well done combination of RTS and FPS in flying craft on other worlds.
Well . . .you can play the updated version 'Battlezone Enhanced' free online. . .yes. . no fees! Simply download, log on to the free server, requires no CD to play. STILL possibly one of the best motion simulators around and a strategy game to boot.
Download it here:
http://theoutcastsclan.com/dx/vb/showthread.php?t= ... - ggbs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Unreal Tournament 2004 demo is a very good free game, even though it is a demo, the number of features that the developers left is very close as good as the original game. Download it here
http://www.bootstrike.com/Articles/BestShootingGam ... - Lapper, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Right, that's one hot list. These games sure have never been played before.
- edtruckell, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1games that choose to use PgUp and PgDown when there are plenty of other keys available deserve a good hiding.
- Quickstrike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Subspace/Continuum is one of the better free games I have played.

*warning* -- it can get addicting! - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Lists, lists, lists...
- Jeeum, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1FTL
- SiNN4R, on 10/14/2007, -0/+1You are the most consistantly annoying person I have ever seen bingobongony.
- vault, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1thanks for the heads up- had never heard of this before.
- vault, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1There was a walkthrough posted on jayisgames...it's one of those games that seems like it'd be better than it really is though.
- ctc803, on 10/18/2007, -0/+1hahah love the radiohead reference on level 3
- ilkeryoldas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1You can't play a game and digg at the same time!!
- Armitage2k, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, if I wanted low budget MMORPGs there are plenty of them out there, thanks for nothing.
- mplaktu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0People first....
- Takteek, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1That sprout game is pretty funny... especially the ending.
- mplaktu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Yes, SPOILER: Water, Plants, Pot, Pipe, Bowl (tower), Bone, Ball, Spring.
