- Vidalia, on 06/20/2009, -0/+18You will never draft my dog. She's flatfooted.
- pingpants, on 06/20/2009, -0/+17The only certification my dog would qualify for is stealing the cat's food.
- SexyGeekGirl, on 06/20/2009, -0/+11Is there dog life insurance for an army dog?

- charsdar, on 06/21/2009, -1/+7Working as a K-9 handler is truly an honor. I just got back from a deployment from an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, and being Security Forces, I had a chance to work with K-9 throughout the entire deployment. The courage to put yourself in a position to sniff out bombs for a living is really something to admire.
Thanks for serving! - tcsajax, on 06/21/2009, -0/+6USAF doesn't have veterinarians. The Army provides support to the Air Force for that.
- Garmonbozzia, on 06/21/2009, -0/+6When I was in the Air Force I got to put on the bite suit and let the dog come after me. That was some scary *****!
- borez, on 06/21/2009, -1/+6I know a dog that can roll over and play dead... might be useful as a decoy.
- doctechnical, on 06/21/2009, -0/+5You have to read it in the original Klingon to really appreciate it.

- inactive, on 06/21/2009, -2/+2"Courage"? Do the dogs have courage? I wasn't aware that they knew the consequences.
- case116, on 06/21/2009, -1/+1Caleb M.I. K9 Unit.
- janjamm, on 06/21/2009, -1/+1Although the dog has extra receptors, it is free of any moral judgment, therefore the trained dog can rip the arm off friend or foe, without discretion. Remember those dogs at Abu Ghraib? So, the moral character of the trainer is the bottom line. Let's hope there is a strong screening program for the trainers, because the dogs are just the trainer's ego.
- doctechnical, on 06/21/2009, -2/+2Anyone else think of a certain Harlan Ellison story when they read the headline?
