- PDF84, on 04/17/2009, -4/+150the 2 faces of the bengal tiger.
1. A gentle, mystical creature.
2. A Frickin' tiger is gnawing my face off!! - Jabrams2, on 04/17/2009, -1/+110I've decided... I wouldn't want to be eaten by ANY of them
- andrewsavage, on 04/17/2009, -1/+108They look so soft. I want to hug them.
- mattharvey716, on 04/17/2009, -1/+91racist
- mmijatov, on 04/17/2009, -2/+85I used to think animals of the same species look almost exactly alike, I was absolutely wrong.
- Claverhouse, on 04/17/2009, -1/+81These are studio portraits, which is amazing in itself; still, these lovely creatures are even more amazing...
- plaguepony, on 04/17/2009, -1/+73GET IN THE CAR!
- Tom10803, on 04/17/2009, -2/+63What beautiful animals, too bad people would rather kill them for money.
- Mawds, on 04/17/2009, -0/+59RAWRS!!!
'It was worth it... Eeuuurrgghhh!!!"

- recruz, on 04/17/2009, -0/+35kitty!
- krisneville, on 04/17/2009, -1/+34These animals are gorgeous but how people can hunt them for fur is beyond me, its disgusting.
- nomoreink, on 04/17/2009, -4/+35They look like they are posing for job interviews.
I, for one, welcome our new tiger overlords. - recruz, on 04/17/2009, -0/+27If only they could talk ... I imagine they would all sound like James Earl Jones ... or Denis Leary
- serif69, on 04/17/2009, -4/+31Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopowner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show.
- EverTheCynic, on 04/17/2009, -3/+29Well, a chihuahua and a great dane are of the same species, like all breeds of dog.
- Residents, on 04/17/2009, -0/+26Get to the choppa!
- billski, on 04/17/2009, -1/+27Did anybody else scroll trough these pics thinking "High School Yearbook?"
Bengals graduating class of '09 - Rain12913, on 04/17/2009, -0/+24Why is he getting dugg down? Chihuahua and Great Dane are both the same species of animal, exact same scientific name. It's always seemed quite absurd to me but it is indeed fact.
- NastiestNate, on 04/17/2009, -1/+25They're grrrrrreat!
- outofmir, on 04/17/2009, -0/+23Poachers from India cross over illegally into Bangladesh, set traps and kill the tiger for their fur, which then they sell to rich Arabs, Japanese and European/American collectors for upto $30,000 each.
I know Indians on digg will make sure i get dugg down, but I have been to the Sundarbans, seen tigers in the wild with my own eyes. 2 weeks later, in a bazaar in an Indian bordertown, saw a white person buy a tiger skin rug for about $20,000. From the size of the skin, i concluded the tiger was no more than 12 months old.
Tiger teeth sell for about $500 each.
Punishment for poaching in bangladesh is min.of 10 years; in india it is a fine of about $27.00
you do the math. - billricardi, on 04/17/2009, -0/+21I used to do some work with these critters at the Barry Kirshner wildlife preserve. I only got into the cage with the coyotes, but I got to feed the big cats through the bars. They are... beautiful, deadly, and often hungry! And feeding them is a HUGE rush, even from the other side of the bars.
If you want to help them out:

- nesagwa, on 04/17/2009, -2/+21Notice how a lot of the white tigers have bulging sloped foreheads?
Inbreeding to create these in captivity gives them severe birth defects.

- louisut, on 04/17/2009, -2/+19I like how closely they resemble to ordinary housecats in expressions and body language.
- TheFuturist, on 04/17/2009, -1/+18Ride the tiger, you can see his stripes but you know he's clean.

- MrInfallible, on 04/17/2009, -0/+11The coat of a white bengal tiger is worth $250 000. I read this a Edinburgh zoo,
- DrKeith, on 04/17/2009, -1/+12My genetics class would have been so much cooler if we had bred tigers instead of fruit flies.
- smashblu, on 04/17/2009, -1/+12The should put this on "Animals close up, with a wide angle lens".
- Cloned, on 04/17/2009, -0/+11Speaking from experience, tigers actually are very huggable :) There's nothing in the world like a tiger hug.
