- Icecream, on 05/04/2008, -10/+147How do they know the dog is Thai
- sruphil, on 05/04/2008, -11/+137Why didn't the photographer help?
- swicken, on 05/04/2008, -8/+131dawww, I always like to see a little humanity in the morning
- franklymister, on 05/04/2008, -7/+117I'm sorry, has Digg been completely overrun by YouTube refugees that sit alone in their rooms and write racist crap on comment threads?
- inactive, on 05/04/2008, -3/+81it ain't THAT steep!, But kudos to the kids for having a heart.
- aladrin, on 05/04/2008, -1/+71Well my first thought was: If the kids fail, then he can still help. It's not an emergency situation.
My second: If the kids succeed, they'll be happy about having succeeded and probably be better for it. - punkcat, on 05/04/2008, -1/+63damn paparazzi
- AirBallistic, on 05/04/2008, -5/+66The dog looks like it's gonna go back in the water at the end.
- JJNickerson, on 05/04/2008, -2/+54tony stark could have done it in 1 picture
- Orsenfelt, on 05/04/2008, -2/+46How long have you been waiting to use that one? =)
- dbug, on 05/04/2008, -1/+45If you read flickr and digg comments in reverse order, you look really original.
- scecilio, on 05/04/2008, -1/+45Perhaps the photographer was on the other side of the aqueduct.
- puddi, on 05/04/2008, -14/+58OM NOM NOM NOM
(Surprised no one om-nom'ed yet) - synaesthesia, on 05/04/2008, -18/+61You're thinking Korea. Not that it's funny either way but you may as well be accurate.
- whiteblue1942, on 05/04/2008, -4/+39nice to see something about a puppy that isnt gettin thrown off a cliff
- pseudononymist, on 05/04/2008, -2/+33Hm... I'm guessing because the kids were?
- cyrt, on 05/04/2008, -3/+32Best comment from the page: "If you look at these in reverse order, these kids are *****." (pzwhite125)
- troopa, on 05/04/2008, -3/+30Approximately 2 years, 14 weeks, 6 days, and 14 minutes. But who's counting?
- franklymister, on 05/04/2008, -29/+56Jimmy, you're a racist *****.
- jimmy17, on 05/04/2008, -16/+42Well now thats a bit of an overreaction. Might i suggest you douche the sand out of your vagina.
- Cynikk, on 05/04/2008, -2/+27What's with all these stereotypes about eating dogs? Sure I expected one or two jokes but it seems like everyone is a comedian these days and not a good one.
- thoatt, on 05/04/2008, -0/+24Have you ever been in an aqueduct? Well I have. And I can tell you, that it was the single most painful experience of my life.
- houndeyex, on 05/04/2008, -9/+31Is that a camel in the background of the last photo? WTF?
- jimmy17, on 05/04/2008, -5/+27Hey, calm down everyone. I love asians. Hell all my clothes are made there!
but if you must hear an apology.
Me so solly. - inactive, on 05/04/2008, -15/+37Why is it an overreaction? An equally stereotypical statement about blacks or jews and he would've been banned, not dugg up.
- jimmy17, on 05/04/2008, -10/+32Well the thing is sometimes racist jokes are meant to ironic. That is to say making a unsophisticated and blunt joke about a stereotype (especially if directed at the wrong country) is meant to imply that racism is closely associated with ignorance. This is why one of my good friends Amit often calls my other friend Ching "slitty eyed" to which he responds by calling him a "tea picker" and they both in turn call me a "limey".
But on the other hand wishing death upon someone quite a serious manner is quite possibly offensive.
But i suppose you americans never really got irony (yes thats also a joke...) - inactive, on 05/04/2008, -0/+21That's not camel. That's a calf. Camel has a huge hump on the back.
- malibusurf, on 05/04/2008, -3/+24In the fourth pic it looks like the dog and kid are shaking hands. i can imagine the hound saying "thanks buddy i was in a tight spot there"
- edebolt, on 05/04/2008, -6/+26Hey I live in Thailand and the first thing I thought was Barbeque time.
- microview2007, on 05/04/2008, -3/+22Why is the guy taking pictures of little boys in Thailand?
- Wrangler76, on 05/04/2008, -0/+18Not really surprising. You see stupid comments about "lolz there must have been lead in the tracks" in the comments about the Chinese train crash. Digg is full of ignorant morons.
- chrisduser, on 05/04/2008, -1/+18Totally opposite of what some kids would do, "Hey look, a dog trying to swim downstream, let's help it."
- edebolt, on 05/04/2008, -0/+16Here in Thailand its technically illegal to sell dog but I could buy without too much trouble. Also Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Korea, China eat dogs. Its considered a warming food and in the winter people like to consume to raise their internal heat. Koreans really favor it because its a cold country to live in.
- DeFex, on 05/04/2008, -0/+16If the kids fell in and drowned think how much more the photos would be worth!
- NewSchool87, on 05/04/2008, -19/+34If you look at these in reverse order, these kids are *****.
- CaviMike, on 05/04/2008, -3/+17Yeah, the Thai kids are alive.
- iaminsomniack, on 05/04/2008, -7/+21Here you can see the difference between thai kids and american soldiers
- BCRazgriz, on 05/04/2008, -0/+13In a cave.
- pseudononymist, on 05/04/2008, -4/+16It's fun to make fun of Asian people for the strange foods they eat, but let's at least keep in mind that Thai food doesn't have dog on the menu. Koreans, on the other hand, simply love it, and it's considered a delicacy to many Chinese as well.
- jimmy17, on 05/04/2008, -3/+15Well the thing is the joke was quite apt for the situation. And yes irony is an acceptable form of mockery of racists (see much lauded tv sitcom "till death do us part" where the central character is also the central joke because of the outrageous comments he makes about his african neighbor)
Also I wasn't mentioning my friends because of the "my best friends are asian" ploy. It was simply to point out how ridiculous a comment is that gets offended at a comment (that wasn't meant to be offensive) on someone else's behalf simply to show "how anti-racist you are" - inactive, on 05/04/2008, -3/+14there is some good in this ***** world after all...
- kodax, on 05/04/2008, -0/+11with scraps.
- anogenic, on 05/04/2008, -1/+11Yeah, the photographer missed them pulling that one out just before the dog.
- lukekim91, on 05/04/2008, -0/+10taken from flickr comment: "if you look at the pictures backwards, the kids look like real *****."
xD - BeOrange, on 05/04/2008, -3/+13Nah.
- WNW3, on 05/04/2008, -2/+11In Soviet Russia, dog eat you!
played out? - Vet4Peace, on 05/04/2008, -2/+11That puppy is lucky they were there. I think most boys here in Texas would have thrown rocks at him and laughed. Little redneck punks...
- inactive, on 05/04/2008, -3/+12In today's negative and salacious news stories laced with gratuitous violence it is good to see an act of simple kindness. We are all God's creatures. Now, have at it diggers with your cynical comments.
