- robeph, on 04/22/2008, -1/+9Me too, as an expert in all things photoshop, I can see the ways the pixels don't correctly line up, and someone is misusing alpha transparencies, tsk tsk... we'll avoid discussing your misapplication of guassian blur (who using anything over 10pt on a low opacity layer?) *sniffles* *pushes glasses up* hurr hurr hurr....
- RealJimShady, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1Pixels? Alpha transparency? Guassian blur? There are 7 alpha-males in one pride, isn't that glaringly obvious?

- krisscofield, on 04/22/2008, -0/+4You sure it's not a zoo?
- ayakitsune, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1It's Photoshopped. Some of the heads further back are duplicates, and the depth of the space is too short for that many lions to fit in it.
- krisscofield, on 04/22/2008, -0/+4You sure it's not a zoo?
- iainc, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Could be a zoo or safari park shot. I mean Longleat (UK) has Lions *and* Snow.

- gummih, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1I think he's talking about the line sloping down from left to right. See the bushes above the lions heads? Below them is a line in the snow running through the picture which might be a path or a road. The "buildings" are probably the things to the upper right. They look kind of strange for trees at least.

Others hunt for food,
The only thing I'm hunting for,
Is an outfit that looks good...
See my vest, see my vest,
Made from real gorilla chest,
Feel this sweater, there's no better,
Than authentic Irish setter.
See this hat, 'twas my cat,
My evening wear - vampire bat,
These white slippers are albino
African endangered rhino.
Grizzly bear underwear,
Turtles' necks, I've got my share,
Beret of poodle, on my noodle
It shall rest,
Try my red robin suit,
It comes one breast or two,
See my vest, see my vest,
See my vest.
Like my loafers? Former gophers -
It was that or skin my chauffeurs,
But a greyhound fur tuxedo
Would be best,
So let's prepare these dogs,
Kill two for matching clogs,
See my vest, see my vest,
Oh please, won't you see my vest.- kidcodea, on 04/22/2008, -11/+3OH PLEASE, STFU

- evodude, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3Proving once and for all that all kitties like string. It's just that big kitties need big string. He just didn't want to roll around with it because of the camera. Too self conscious. Take that away, and he totally would have been acting like a little cub.
- Epik, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2The guy crawls toward lions and when it gets close to him, he decides to lie down. What!
- synystar, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3Run doesn't work because you are now frightened prey. Attack doesn't work because the lion is much more likely to kill you with it's claws than you would be to kill it with a roll of toilet paper. Act like a tree might work but I'd be worried. Lying there like a dumbass hoping lion does not kill you apparently works. I'm going with option four.
- synystar, on 04/22/2008, -0/+8That was better than the submission. It's probably been on Digg before but I'm glad you posted it. There were a few classic lines from the dialogue but "For you folks back at home...don't try this." made me laugh out loud. As opposed to "lol".

- DiggCommando, on 04/22/2008, -29/+42I, for one, am sick of all these articles having to do with something cold making reference to global warming (and poking fun at the concept) as if it meant temperature increases across the board. I know this is tongue in cheek but you are just helping to perpetuate that misguided myth.
- kelly, on 04/22/2008, -30/+13We're poking fun because it ***IS*** a myth... at least the notion that the warming is a product of man.
- DiggCommando, on 04/22/2008, -8/+3But I did not say that did I? Pay attention next time. You have to understand the problem if you want to come up with solutions, regardless of its CAUSE.
- archiesteel, on 04/22/2008, -9/+12More evidence points to the fact that it is not a myth than the other way around. But please, keep your head in the sand...er, snow.
- HiKevinRose, on 04/22/2008, -8/+8Which is why there is 42% more CO2 in the air than there was in 1850. Right. That has nothing to do with big industry and factories and cars are deforestation whatsoever. Go back to public school.
- TrancePhreak, on 04/22/2008, -8/+4Yeah, it's not like volcanoes or natural fires caused any CO2! It was all man's fault.
- chesstwin, on 04/22/2008, -4/+2LOL Deforestation............... Like thats happening
- Willravel, on 04/22/2008, -8/+4It must be amazing to ignore evidence. Do you also believe the Earth is the center of the universe? Or maybe you think that the sky is a blanket with holes in it. And the sun is moved across the sky by Helios and his amazing chariot.
- Cattedge, on 04/22/2008, -6/+10Global warming means the development of more extreme weather, not just warmer weather. With higher temperatures, there is more energy to cause larger storms, stronger winds, and more dynamic changes. People are not making fun of global warming, they are giving these snowy pics as an example of very severe weather.
- nyx210, on 04/22/2008, -8/+5Then why in the flying ***** is it called global WARMING?!
- IllBeBack, on 04/22/2008, -6/+10Because that is a misnomer created for simpletons such as yourself. The correct term is Global Climate Change. I know that there are more syllables, but you might be able to grasp it given enough repetition and time.
- kidcodea, on 04/22/2008, -9/+4SO U MEAN CLIMATE WAS CONSTANT BEFORE AND NOW ITS CHANGING?
- melonhedd, on 04/22/2008, -8/+3"Climate change" only entered popular use in the last five years, once it because obvious that global warming was a sham.
- fultron89, on 04/22/2008, -2/+4I seem to remember a rather abrupt climate shift a while back that we like to call the ice age...
so no, the climate is not constant, and what we're seeing now is simply one of earth's many cycles
- DarkNeutron, on 04/22/2008, -4/+1Because it relates to an increase in the global average temperature. The key word in this case is "average".
If one part of the world cools down slightly, and another warms dramatically (as the arctic is doing), you still get global warming but a locally cooler climate.
IPCC AR4, synthesis report, summary for policy makers (page 2):
"Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is
now evident from observations of increases in global
average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting
of snow and ice and rising global average sea level
(Figure SPM.1). {1.1}"

- innocentsinner, on 04/22/2008, -0/+3You're right about the first part but not the second. Given the headline, it's pretty obvious this was meant as a sarcastic comment -against- global warming being true.

WARM TEMPERATURES DO NOT MAKE WEATHER-- STORMS--OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN JUST WARM TEMPERATURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FOR THEIR TO BE GREATER STORMS, MASSIVE, AND DAMAGING HURRICANES YOU NEED LARGER GRADIENTS!!!!!!!!!! AS WARMING TAKES PLACE THE GRADIENTS GET SMALLER AND THEREFORE LESS SIGINIFICANT/WEAKER STORMS.

modern science has only been around that long. now that we're seeing things in a scientific state, we're quick to label them the end of the world, when its quite possible that they were already there, it was just that our knowledge of how the earth worked hadn't (and still doesn't) extended past what we can beat our massive brains into.

- LargeTrout, on 04/22/2008, -3/+4The effects of Global Warming, and probably the whole idea of Global Warming, are being exaggerated by governments for God knows what reason. We, the public, are being deceived. It's in the nature of governments to invent crises so their citizens will appeal for help. Look at Y2K.
I'll get dugg down for this obviously, because you've all fallen for the lie. But consider this; has anyone noticed that scientists who doubt Global Warming, and indeed, have evidence to the contrary, are completely ostracised by the scientific community? The UN's research a while back was completely one sided, and they falsly stated that it was the consensus of the scientific community. Those who disagreed with the findings were silenced and made pariahs. And Al Gore has further cemented the notion that anyone who disagrees with this "consensus" on Global Warming is in denial (this in spite of the fact that Al Gore's video was later shown to have dodgy "facts" and figures).- RealJimShady, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1Umm it's the governments that aren't doing jack about climate change. There's a difference between the WEATHER and the CLIMATE, you know.

WEATHER is any temperature readings that indicate that it's actually, you know, cold out there.
CLIMATE is any temperature readings that fit our computer simulation and PROVE that Al Gore is right and WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE GLOBAL WARMING WAIT SORRY CLIMATE CHANGE SO NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS WEER STILL RIGHT
*PATRONISING WANKER MODE OFF*- chesstwin, on 04/22/2008, -3/+1I love it

- 3gibberish4q57, on 04/22/2008, -7/+32Well, the existence of snow in the world does negate the possibility of a trend of rising average global temperatures...
- worldchanger, on 04/22/2008, -8/+3...which have only been going down for the last ten years...
- minorthreat, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2Although I do not agree.....*golf clap* to the the first person who could rationally counter argue global warming without being dumb and extremely loud. bravo
- revengeful, on 04/22/2008, -7/+2The most logical argument against human caused global warming is that the earth is starting a cycle that it hasn't yet been through in the history of the planet. I tend to disagree with this argument, however I don't think climate change is going to be the end of humans. It will drastically redefine the nature of existence though.
- RealJimShady, on 04/22/2008, -4/+1Woah, that is the most deceptive use of false-logic I've ever read. I'll put $5 on you being religious.
The existence of snow in the world does definitely not negate the possibility of an upward trend in the average global temperature. If the average low temp raises from -30deg (celcius) to -20deg over a decade. Will there still be an "existence of snow in the world"? The answer is yes, and you are very dumb. I work with a couple of dumb guys, and you've so far made the top dumb comment I've heard this month. And what you said almost sounded smart, but then you ruined it by being wrong and attemping to use a smoke and mirror's approach to science. Here's all you needed to say to actually make a valid and sensible statement: "Climate change is a plausible theory given that global temperature and ocean suface temperature averages have increased to a level that is uncharacteristic of their typical cyclical behaviour.". Please leave it a couple of years before trying to make your next scientific inference or engaging in an argument that isn't about which pokemon would beat another in a "battle". There is still much maturation of the brain to occur over the next decade as you approach about 24 years of age. Lay off the crack and alcohol, no contact sports, take a multivitamin, and be wary of the long-lasting affects of sleep deprevation. Adios!
- mchan103, on 04/22/2008, -17/+8Global warming is causing a global freeze. What oxymoron! People use anything to justify their religion (especially mother earth worship) because they are brain dead. Their brains are full of fluoride and mercury.

- smashingmonkey, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1And now you've jumped to conclusions about me too. Shouldn't surprise me... I'm one of the few human beings who possesses the humility to admit that I don't know whether or not global warming is a man made problem. My comment applies to those who are arrogant enough to assume either position as absolute fact when there's compelling evidence on both sides of the argument.
And so you've all missed my point - if you can look at a picture of lions in the snow and jump to a conclusion either way, you are demonstrating that you act from prejudice rather than an open mind.

- MrSlumberjack, on 04/22/2008, -5/+11You sound like you are presenting information on which you have come to conclusions based on research that you have conducted. Quit it.
- lordmetroid, on 04/22/2008, -0/+5So? Lion was common in the woods of Europe a couple of thousands years ago.
- JoeBob5606, on 04/22/2008, -2/+17Chivalry at its best. All the males keeping the females warm in the center. Puts new definition to "lionhearted".
- beargrylls, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Isn't that the same definition?
- basevillin, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Lionhearted and Chivalrous? No.
- quade, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Yeah, I guess you could say she has a lot of PRIDE in her men.
- beargrylls, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Isn't that the same definition?
- beck9057, on 04/22/2008, -3/+2Actually it's real..he photoshopped it himself...
- travisty17, on 04/22/2008, -12/+1More extreme temperatures. Increase in global average temperature.

Tool. - Khast, on 04/22/2008, -0/+6Eh, it snowed here last weekend, about 6 inches....Which this was the first time I seen snow here after February.
Well, at least the lions looked cozy.- BaronSamedi242, on 04/22/2008, -6/+5Coldest winter ever in China. Snow in late April in Seattle. Record cold temps all over the world. We've erased 100 years of gains in temperatures. The oceans show cooling trends.
The Goracles are saying that this is all lies. Even though temperature rises STOPPED in the late 90s, just as they kissed the previous record high set in the 1930s.- chesstwin, on 04/22/2008, -3/+1your the best
- joshuagor44, on 04/22/2008, -0/+2In Montreal, we've been getting 20+ weather. I've never been so tanned before and I've never tanned this early in the year.
- fultron89, on 04/22/2008, -1/+1i hope you mean 20 Celsius, because thats just reinforcing the stereotype of chill canucks if it's in Fahrenheit.
- WillHutch5, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Dude, he's obviously talking Celsius. Fail.
