- nikothefinn, on 08/22/2008, -37/+457It's a good thing that fish is as big as it is - looks like the two of them could use some extra sustenance.
- TheJimid, on 08/22/2008, -7/+403It neglects to mention his beers where in a Hannah Montana cooler.
- BoneStamp, on 08/22/2008, -6/+283I bet he was using the Barbie fishing pole from the start, just made up that part about his granddaughter when the media showed up.
- mdc10s, on 08/22/2008, -1/+161dugg, because I bought my daughter the same barbie fishing rod and I ended up fishing with it, after she got tired of fishing, and caught three fish. You got to respect the Shakespeare Barbie fishing rod.
- Fracture98, on 08/22/2008, -12/+164Some Granddad. He couldn't give her the glory? You know; "I helped, of course, but she did most of the work" sort of thing. That's what Granddad's are for.
- tagvestibule, on 08/22/2008, -6/+143Luckily, there was nobody nearby with a Barbie harpoon.
- uselessexpert, on 08/22/2008, -11/+111Woah!!! The fish is almost as fat as the girl is.
- TekTrixter, on 08/22/2008, -1/+83For a record no one else can touch the rod once the fish is on. Also, that fish could have pulled her into the pond if she didn't let go first.
- annabanana01, on 08/22/2008, -12/+74Unbelievable the rod didn't break! LOL
- moduc, on 08/22/2008, -8/+68Yes, teach her to lie by setting an example in that early age would be a big glory.
- BOFH2, on 08/22/2008, -0/+57we bought the dora rod. Guess no fish for us
- jphandley, on 08/22/2008, -15/+71All most of you can do is make fun of a weight problem, why don't you take a long look at yourselves in the mirror. Nearly 75% of this nation is overweight or obese, Besides, at least they were getting outside, not sitting in front of a computer acting superior!
- BoneStamp, on 08/22/2008, -13/+68I think she's lucky to be in the photo... he was probably using the barbie rod from the start and just grabbed her when the media showed up.
- retrospects, on 08/22/2008, -0/+49i think you have to be in mexico for that rod to work....
- Slade605, on 08/22/2008, -3/+50That's what she said.
- BoneStamp, on 08/22/2008, -0/+37Maybe it's a covert Barbie fishing rod advertisement.
- BillC0sby, on 08/22/2008, -2/+39thats one big little girl
- LegoLooney27, on 08/22/2008, -6/+42Guess I'm one of the 25% that sits in front of my computer and isn't fat. I love my superior metabolism!
- MrMysterious, on 08/22/2008, -8/+43Would have been funny as hell if the girl hooked it and it pulled her ass into the water.
- BoneStamp, on 08/22/2008, -0/+31The fishing shows are all going to be using these things by next year, they're sweeping professional fishing.
- boardthis, on 08/22/2008, -0/+29dugg for "where"
he's so drunk he can barely stand up. the hannah montana cooler seems to work pretty well. - Systolic1, on 08/22/2008, -4/+31Seriously, this EXACT thing has happened to me.
It wasnt a 21 pound fish, but it WAS about 10!
It was at a family reunion at a river that my great grandparents own a piece of land around. My 7 year old cousin was fishing with her Barbie fishing rod, and she wanted to get some food, so she told me to hold it for her, and all of a sudden I almost got pulled into the river. The damn rod bent in so far while I was reeling I thought it WAS going to break. Finally my uncle and my grandfather heard me yelling for help on reeling the thing in and they rushed over and stated trying to pull the line up. It took about 20 minutes to reel the damn thing in, but it was a HUGE freakin fish.
I guess they need to make a fisherman barbie doll. - Evil5, on 08/22/2008, -4/+31Gosh! Meanie.
- waydee, on 08/22/2008, -0/+26There's ugly and there's TV-ugly...
- ShutYourPieHole, on 08/22/2008, -0/+25Glad to see we aren't the only ones doing this. We only use the kids rods for Crappie fishing off the dock. No sense in a having a big rod laying around when you are only dropping straight in. The ole Scooby pole has landed some large crappie.
- Vosona, on 08/22/2008, -3/+27It would take a hell of a lot of force to drag that girl into the water.
- LeonHRodriguez, on 08/22/2008, -4/+27Nope
- phenom2k7, on 08/22/2008, -1/+22Amazingly no, she survives solely on her grand fathers left overs.
- zantos420, on 08/22/2008, -0/+20yeah the damn fish was bigger than the rod you'd figure that ***** would have snapped like a twig under that kind of force.
- StormTroopr, on 08/22/2008, -0/+20Because he knew it was a record-breaker just by how it bit the line.
- djqxero, on 08/22/2008, -2/+19Come on Barbie, let's go.....fishing
- EmperorAwesome, on 08/22/2008, -3/+20Douchebag: 1. An object used for vaginal hygeine. 2. A person so irritating that '*****' just doesn't suffice. ex: You are a douchebag.
- Cararan, on 08/22/2008, -7/+24That's one big fish...
- retrospects, on 08/22/2008, -1/+16good thing it was not a ken rod...... oh wait :(
- fruscianteisgod, on 08/22/2008, -5/+20I'm a Barbie girl in a Barbie world
- alperea, on 08/22/2008, -5/+19do they just let that little girl have free reign over the fridge?
- greendalek, on 08/22/2008, -3/+17Anyone laying odds as to Mattel approaching these folks for some kind of product endorsement deal?
- Trigonometron, on 08/22/2008, -3/+17Unbelievable the DOCK didn't break! LOLz
- CalvinMonk, on 08/22/2008, -1/+14Foxnews vs Yahoonews - Yahoo gets the digg
- Sorry original poster, whichever is original. - bubba9999, on 08/22/2008, -0/+12It's evidently not as usual in North Carolina, since it, duh, set a record and stuff.
- NegativeDigg, on 08/22/2008, -0/+11You surprised the guy with your beef wiener?
- tulanian12, on 08/22/2008, -1/+11You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
- jaikob, on 08/22/2008, -0/+10Thats Mean.
- biznatch11, on 08/22/2008, -0/+10I'd go look in the mirror but that means I'd have to get up.
- HookmasterCH47, on 08/22/2008, -2/+11outstanding.
- gemlarin, on 08/22/2008, -0/+9Where the hell did you get 75%? According to AOA the numbers are between 25 and 40 percent max, depending upon if you are weighing in on (pun intended) just overweight or overweight + obese. http://obesity1.tempdomainname.com/subs/fastfacts/ ...
I mean you made a good point, but it drives me crazy when people inflate (pun intended again) numbers to prove an already good point. - chanop, on 08/22/2008, -1/+10I don't find any of this amazing.
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -0/+8Did anyone really want to see what would've happened if it was just the little girl holding the rod?
*SPLASH* - supguy, on 08/22/2008, -1/+9and?
