- fmaxwell, on 12/28/2008, -1/+20I was going to make a snide comment about it being healthier to not shoot it, but reading further on, you're hunting for food and deer need to be shot due to overpopulation. What many Diggers don't realize is that we've really messed things up for deer. By killing off most of the predators that fed on deer, we've got gross overpopulation of deer with starvation being a real problem. That search for food leads deer to cross roads more frequently, leading to deer deaths, property damage, and deaths to motorcyclists involved in collisions with deer (even recently claiming the life of motorcycle safety expert, instructor, and Stayin' Safe column author for Rider magazine, Larry Grodsky: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06101/681096-122.st ...
