Theory 1:Cats are more entertaining to watch. They do silly adorable things. Plus I think cats are more expressive in a way. Dogs have a friendly, open expression on their faces. Cats have a range of expressions.. or at least what we interpret to be expressions, like bliss, irritation, curiosity, wounded dignity, "You'll pay for this", "I-totally-meant-to-do-that" etc. etc..
Theory 2: there are some similarities between cats and internet pplz, they are both independent, not very sociable animals, kinda proud and think they're better than everyone else.. only, you know, cats are cute and know how to be charming.. but internet people do not.
Theory 3: Dogs are easy to love and to make you love them. With cats, when they show you any sign of affection/loyalty, you feel you've just been affirmed as a valuable human being.
