- alapoet, on 06/24/2008, -2/+17I hate when a harmful industry funds one of these deceitful "front groups" in a cynical attempt to clean up their abysmally bad image.
- NotSoHotPink, on 06/24/2008, -0/+11I'm not too keen on animal welfarism but I like it when liars are exposed.
- br3ax0r, on 06/24/2008, -0/+10I wonder how those factory farms think that stopping animal cruelty will make the food unsafe.
- GidsR, on 06/24/2008, -0/+9It's time to end intensive farming.
It'[s bad for animals and it's bad for the people eating the product. - uwiniwin, on 06/25/2008, -0/+7Very well written. I cannot comment better than the author about the front than the author.... when he says "factory farming fakers..."
- beaelliott, on 06/24/2008, -0/+7I'm not a welfarist either..... but the conditions these animals are kept in are so egregious that waiting another 25/50/100 years longer for abolition is just too long for them. Free the animals - stop wearing them.... stop eating them - For health & heart... Go VEGAN
- inactive, on 06/24/2008, -0/+6The point is they are not doing this to clean up their image, they are doing it to decieve the consumer.
- inactive, on 06/24/2008, -0/+5It won't.
It will make it far SAFER.
However, it would cut into profits. They make $$$ by abusing these animals.
You can't reason with profits. - LoriAngel, on 06/26/2008, -0/+4It's sad to think anyone would oppose an act that protects living things. There are people behind every organization, and those people have hearts, souls, and consciences. I wonder how they sleep at night.
- makbryan2, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1While it would be ideal to give livestock and chickens as much comfort as possible, what are the costs? The direct cost of chicken and other affected animals would increase significantly. Many of the vegan or vegetarian supporters would love both sides of the coin for this proposition, but the majority of Californian's do not and probably should not care about the treatment of their livestock, assuming it's equally safe to and delicious to eat. I'm not going to get mad at supporters of this proposition, but I hope that Californians are at least aware of the effects this law would have when they vote on it. Way too many poor Californians do not get enough meat and protein already because of how much cheaper processed foods are. I think people come first.
- josefgraf, on 09/26/2008, -0/+0If those who consume mass meat products could witness either a) the conditions 95% of the animals in the factory farm industry have to endure, or b) the loss that is accruing in humanity’s inner life due to this animal abuse - the industry would grind to a halt overnight. Surely the human race cannot be as diabolical as its relationship with the animal kingdom suggests.
