- ghaltmann, on 07/18/2009, -0/+32Why do I read the title and in my head a movie announcer is saying it to me like a movie title...
- inactive, on 07/18/2009, -8/+28Just one more reason why you are a failure as a parent.
- jjesusfreak01, on 07/18/2009, -0/+20Hmm, they said the father is on the BC, and is hands on. You dont file for custody if you arent involved in raising the child unless there is money involved. Sounds like he was playing the role of the parent, and it is insulting for the judge to label him a mere sperm donor.
- afruff23, on 07/18/2009, -0/+18Florida, did it even need to be said which state this was in?
- inactive, on 07/18/2009, -3/+20Yeah I just hate toddlers who don't see their two mommies as freaks; the teacher should reprimand her the next time she exhibits such disruptive behavior.
Don't want that gay rubbing off on anyone. - inactive, on 07/18/2009, -3/+18I agree with the decision, visits and smiles isn't even close to what a mother has to go through with raising a baby.
Nevertheless, it's still hypocritical and wrong that if the mom had sued for child support, she would have gotten it in a second, because the man put himself out there as the father. (I've heard it called the Duck rule of Law)
There was a case 2 years ago where a man was a sperm donor, but he sent the kid a few cards posted from "Dad" over the years so the kid didn't feel like a bastard, that was enough to get him slapped with back child support when the girl was in her very late teens, so he had to pay the mom the money and he didn't even get to be a part of the girl's life. - mhuggins, on 07/18/2009, -1/+14Right, just like all kids with 2 straight parents always mimic them their whole lives too...oh wait. Do people like you even try to think about your statement on a logical level before you spit it out?
- chooochooo, on 07/17/2009, -5/+16lucky baby :)
- Elranzer, on 07/18/2009, -1/+12"This kid isn't even old enough to know what a lesbian is yet"
She's also not old enough to fully understand religion, but I'm sure you're indoctrinating yours right away while they're young enough to believe anything you tell them. - katieface, on 07/18/2009, -1/+12It's not different, it's actually quite simple. People are all people. Some are good and some are bad. I'd rather have a child living with good, gay people than some cracked out child abuser who brings home prostitutes every night. Your bigotry disgust me. Go back to Alabama.
And just so you know, commas and apostrophes aren't the same thing. - frankglez, on 07/18/2009, -6/+16"I'm sorry but I don't think that's a good thing."
What exactly are you sorry for?
Your prejudice?
Bigotry? - DeadBabyFloat, on 07/18/2009, -1/+10or ***** the mom for that matter
- sp89, on 07/18/2009, -1/+10Because you can see the future, my friend.
- consonance, on 07/18/2009, -0/+9"In a world... where a man loves a woman..."
- katieface, on 07/18/2009, -2/+10Would you rather a child in a happy, loving home or living on the streets, starved and lonely?
- inactive, on 07/18/2009, -1/+9You suck (dick) at trolling, but then again, you are from Texas, and most things suck there.
- Tomcenc, on 07/18/2009, -1/+8It is perfectly normal, isn't it? After all, we don't call left handed people abnormal either, and there's only 1/10 of them too. I'm sure the kid realizes not everyone has two moms, just as children who lost one of their parents shortly after birth realize they are missing one.
- Elranzer, on 07/18/2009, -0/+7Rule #1 for divorce and child custody battles: the man always gets screwed.
- acdcfanbill, on 07/18/2009, -0/+6I would hazard a guess that if the roles were reversed, the outcome would not be the same.
- MattRK, on 07/18/2009, -3/+9Why shouldn't it be? Just a few years ago you'd have been saying a black and a white parent isn't natural. Why don't you get over your bigotry and realize that not everyone lives the exact same life that you do and not everyone believes the same exact ***** that you do.
/fail - bryano, on 07/18/2009, -0/+5GTFO
- pingveno, on 07/18/2009, -1/+6I'm not entirely sure how you made some of those typos. There's a lot of space between the comma key and the single quote key.
- Dustin00, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4It's only symbolic until she sues for child support, then it's the honest word of god even when the DNA test shows he isn't the father.
- smemily, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4How do you manage to be that drunk in every digg post??
- katieface, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4Title should have been "Two Moms, Two Dads, One Baby."
Someone should put that in a pedobear. - Dustin00, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4I like how if she's suing for child support it doesn't matter how much or how little involvement the man has had, he has to pay.
But if she wants to run off with the kid after having constant involvement with the father, yep, she's free to do that.
This is not the equality I supported. - inactive, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4In Florida the grandparents have no legal rights to the child(ren) in a divorce.
- kurttrail, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4It's a cultural thing, if the culture you are part of is walling in self-afflicted ignorance.
- xencoder, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4I love it. Bigotry from both hetero and homosexual commenters.
1. It's obvious NONE of you read the article. Solution: READ the article.
2. It's obvious there's sufficient bigotry to go around. Solution: Both sides grow a little tolerance in your spare bedroom, and smoke it. - denizen42, on 07/18/2009, -1/+5Where's your ourtrage for KKK-influenced toddlers, then?
- s0nicfreak, on 07/18/2009, -0/+4What exactly is the difference between a child that is half-adopted and a child that is fully adopted?
- inactive, on 07/18/2009, -1/+5I'm surprised that you would bring up the word "Normal"
I found it ironic that you are such a normal and average troll. - xencoder, on 07/18/2009, -0/+3What kind of stupid is this judge. What do you think a birth certificate is ? Is not a birth certificate used to establish parental responsibilty in cases of paternity ? What's good for the goose is good for the gander. The judge is stupid, and if you agree with her/him, the same biased and bonehead conclusion is being arrived at.
Too bad we can't call into question decision in Family court and take them to higher courts to appeal, because this decision smells......something doesn't add up. - xencoder, on 07/18/2009, -0/+3Who told you he didn't do anything or wasn't involved ? Where did you read that please. Please cite your reference. The fact is the guy WAS more than just a donor. I love people who spout off with opinions without doing even the most miniscule amount of research.
Everyone's for gay rights, marriage, spousal privileges.....except when it involves the two sexes...Ooops...we shouldn't be prejudiced towards sexual orientation, but we can be when it involves the two sexes ? Please....those who wouldn't want the same hateful ruling being visited upon them, should show a similar level of tolerance they would want applied to them. - bukiyou, on 07/18/2009, -0/+3umm... i mean unless that mother has to go to california to save the world or something, i don't see why she'd get into this type of relationship with the 4 of them, only to change the conditions at her convenience.
there are so many unloving fathers out there in the world. it's a little sad when the loving ones can't have access to their kids. - inactive, on 07/18/2009, -0/+3Poor child.
- Dustin00, on 07/18/2009, -0/+3Yeah... it's federal medicare laws pushing that in all states.
And since no woman wants to sound like a slut, she will name only one guy and stick to it. - diemunkiesdie, on 07/19/2009, -2/+4He has four people fighting to over who gets to love him more. Luck baby in my book. Some kids don't even get one parent who loves them that much!
- psolms, on 07/19/2009, -0/+2yeah its too bad that the author had to make such a point about the fact that its 2 gay couples. the gay couples are not the issue.
the issue is that the dude went in as a sperm donor, and changed his mind, acted like a real dad, and now wants some of the protections a real father should have.
adding the fact that the people in question are gay is just attempting to sensationalize the issue. - xencoder, on 07/18/2009, -0/+2Now this "it's a little sad when the loving ones can't have access to their kids." isn't only a lucid statement, but entirely too commonplace. It's a statement about an inequity that's only paid lip service by the media, and the judiciary. That's what's truly sad.
- katieface, on 07/18/2009, -0/+2Well said, kurttrail.
- iPerphekt, on 07/18/2009, -0/+2The headline sounds like a good sitcom.
- Dustin00, on 07/19/2009, -0/+2Dude, this has been a problem since 1990.
I don't even know what the fair solution is -- biologically, only one sex can give birth. By it's nature, there's no way to share that. - xencoder, on 07/18/2009, -1/+2We're not talking about Australia or somewhere else, as some have stated. We're talkina bout Florida where it IS. Furthermore, as stated in the article....if you had bothered to even read it....was the fact that since the child was born, it spent time at "da-da's" house, on overnight visits, trips.....what part of that displays or demonstrates lack of involvement on the part of the father, and lack of RECOGNITION that he was the father, and was ACTING, BEHAVING, PERFORMING as a father would be expected to ?
Answer: You're a bigot.....Obviously someone who's never had to raise a child on their own....
HINT: I've been raising my son for most of his life BY MYSELF. Grow an opinion worthwhile, buddy. - xencoder, on 07/18/2009, -0/+1Sadly, it's not "totally" symbolic. It's been used to establish paternity regardless of whether spousal support is sought, because in Florida there is a ruling that calls for the establishment of child support regardless of whether the mother requests it or not. I believe it's similar in several other states....
- mr138, on 07/18/2009, -0/+1Word up. I used to be a single father and ***** is rough enough without bitchass judges complicating things. You wouldn't believe the hoops guys have to jump through that females don't when they have custody of a child.
I had to actually prove that I was the father and get consent from my kids' mother. ***** ridiculous! - inactive, on 07/18/2009, -2/+3A birth certificate is absolutely not tantamount to a contract. You could put Richard M. Nixon's name on the birth certificate, that's why it's a nurse, not a lawyer, who asks the women who's name to put on the paper.
I can assure you that you're absolutely wrong, the birth certificate has very little standing, and it is definitely not a contract. That was a little laughable to hear actually.
Why I do I think she should be able to move to California with her child?
If you've ever spent time raising a child, especially a baby, you'd know the most important thing to that child is the parent who stays home and raises him or her.
The dad could have spent 20 hours a week with the kid and it still wouldn't equal the round the clock vigilance a mom has to have toward her child. Am I saying a dad couldn't fill that role? no. But in this case she is the baby's mom. - robinthehood, on 07/18/2009, -0/+1Considering there are many children in this world without parents this child should consider themselves lucky that they have 4 people that wish to raise them.
It won't happen, but I hope whoever loses goes and adopts. - realdadblog, on 08/11/2009, -0/+1 I really do not see how the donor has any rights in the case. I hope he is the one paying for the cost of this.
