        • PaulOwen, on 05/05/2008, -0/+4Actually it was because in rough seas, standing on the bow (or rather on the bowsprit) is a really good place to get swept overboard as the front of the ship troughs out after a big wave going into the wind. The front deck will usually flood in about a foot of water, sweeping the couple out through the anchor sluice ports and into seas where they would survive (on average) around seven minutes.

          In addition, what with the anchor's giant steel fastmoving windlass (the winch used to get the anchor up) only feet away from where they'd be standing, getting the couples' romantically intertwined, outstreched arms caught in there would result in immediate and bloody severing.

          Not very romantic, and much much worse for customer satisfaction.

I was talking to a couple of people at the concession stand about the movie and mentioned that the CGI and F/X during the sinking were amazing (hey, they were, back in the day) and the dude got ***** off at me for ruining the plot, demanded a refund, and left without watching the movie. There were also the jerk-offs who couldn't pronounce Titanic correctly (Tit-a-nic was a popular choice), and more than one person came out of the auditorium stating their disbelief that the ship sank. Some people's children, right?

I did not see the bird coming only a quick flash of white and BANG!!! Well both the seagull and I were fine, but to make things worse when I walked into the building the security guard joked "Would you like to press charges?" I just know that at some point in the future a video is going to show up on AFV. My Luck!!
