They could have just as easily all jumped on top of him at the same time and he would have been screwed. You can tell he realizes how dangerous the situation is by backing up as they attack him one by one.

    If he is a boxer, as it looks, the other guys have virtually no chance in a one on one fight unless they are carrying a weapon or are also trained to fight.
