- dpknc84, on 10/11/2007, -1/+63Gotta love the part where he takes off his jacket half way through and flings it out of his way. Then he gets back to business.
- unclesaamm, on 10/11/2007, -3/+52This is actually a computer generated hypothetical analysis of what would happen if someone tried to rob a store owned by Bruce Lee
- Wonderkind, on 10/11/2007, -2/+28Looked like he might have snapped his wrist, in addition to the well placed face kicks.
I hope he threw the bastard in the dumpster. - FeartheKnighted, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26Why the HELL would you want the storekeeper going to jail!?! Its stupid ***** like you who are ruining this country.
- COLDshiver, on 10/11/2007, -2/+26If only this happened to all thieves :(
- Prototek, on 10/11/2007, -1/+21No way the store owner should go to jail! He didn't stab him or hit him with anything blunt. That sniveling bitch should have got up and run instead of getting his ass handed to him. Sticking around when someone is raging is stupid.
- ki1022, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18I dont think the store owner should go to jail, its not like he killed the guy. Maybe if more shopkeepers were like this guy there would be less robberies.
But no, everyone always says "dont be a hero, give them what they want". ***** that, if you want to steal from me, you're going to have to take it because I sure as hell ain't gonna just give it to you. - academician, on 10/11/2007, -9/+24Okay, the thief pretty much got what was coming to him. But the store owner's response was a bit excessive, kicking him in the face while he was already rolling around on the ground. Not that he should be punished for it - in the adrenaline of the moment, which the thief provoked, I might have done the same thing - but viewing it objectively, it appeared unnecessary.
- ThankTheCheese, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16I used to work in a drive through convenience store and we were held up many times. Thankfully never when I was working, but many people I worked with had their lives ruined by these *****.
It's not just the money they steal, they steal people's independence because many employees were too scared to keep working in retail, or could only work days. Some had to move back with their parents because they could no longer afford to rent, some needed counseling. That ***** deserved every kick he received. - kryx2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14The guy is filming it off security footage from a monitor it seems. Guess he didn't know how to get it directly off of the feed, so he did it the ghetto way.
- howitt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14Maybe I'm not as verbose as FeartheKnighted, but damn if I don't agree with him. It is this "the criminal is the real victim" mentality thats caused our justice system to be as screwed up as it is. Even suggesting the owner go to jail shows a foolish coddling of real criminals who usually get a slap on the wrist for offenses like this. Its no wonder there is little shame in crime (look at the thug culture that still exists in many areas). Its also no wonder the courts are backlogged with criminals claiming unjust treatment...... Don't get me wrong... I understand the need to preserve everyone's rights..... but we live in a culture that has let it go too far. Bravo to the store owner for being an example of not living in fear and taking back society for the rest of us.
- Canadianinjapan, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13ground and pound... ground and pound
- VcTrMASO, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11The tracking you speak of is a guy with a camera recording the security monitor. You can clearly see the edges of the monitor several times in the video.
- l337phoenix, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10actually the video appears to be a camera shooting the playback of the security tape... so there was no tracking of the actual event.
- HerbSolo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10now i guess if this wasn't a store owner but a cop, the comments would read a little differently.
- Disease, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9That was the most epic thing I've ever seen.
- tutivlahos, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8unnecessary?
I dont think so. The guy had a knife for god's sake! - wpong, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5break the wrist, and walk away. that was some serious rex kwon do, son.
- Tredici, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5It wasn't funny the first time you said it.
- Auxon, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6"Not all thieves are violent" ... UH, yeah, they are. Stealing is violence against a person, because it's an act of force in direct opposition to the victim's wishes. If you are forced, it's violence, and there's no predicting what that guy would do in 10 seconds when he came to his senses after hitting the ground. The shopkeeper was making sure he didn't turn his back on the perp and get stabbed when he thinks it's over.
- Cwo655321, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4i'm guessing you're a jackass
- SmittyJ783, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4im surprised the video didn't have slow motion of the kick, seeing how every video i see has slow motion at the end
- Magsec, on 10/11/2007, -5/+9I love how the owner just drags him away like a dead deer in the middle of the road XD.
- stigma15, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Yes they would, because a (presumedy) store owner has a right to take a robbery very personally. If someone breaks into a police officer's house, he has a right to beat the living ***** out of the perpetrator.
- santaliqueur, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5[pussy]
Won't anyone think of the poor man being beat up?
[/pussy]
Also, that was a handheld camera, who was filming the ass beating? Seemed like the angle a security camera would look from, but the camera was moving. - dn11, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3that was a very poor attempt - you didn't even get the catch phrase right and your syntax was all wrong
- rac3r5, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4hmm...but after sh1+ kicking the guy and disarming him.. he drops him to the ground and then has the time to take out his shirt and face kick the guy again.. I think that was a bit excessive. Someone got carried away there.
At first I was cheering the ass kicking... but then it got a bit too primal.... - oddmanout, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3just because they aren't violent doesn't mean they aren't scary
- phillyjo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5The theif got what he deserved.
But can anyone say assault?
Looks like the guy was down and not going anywhere and he still gave him an ass whooping! - Alfonzo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Bring out the gimp!
- noonzie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2it's all about the risk vs reward. In this case for robber, the risk of getting totally destroyed outweighed the reward. All is fair in love and robbing convenient stores. I have seen too many cases of convenient store owners getting shot to even feel one ounce of sympathy for this robber.
- leejae, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Was the weapon a knife?
- tektalk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Looks like that ass whooping was end all the future times the thief will rob another store.
- jeehalte, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I totally disagree, we are a society of being too nice to criminals all they get is some jail time which includes three square meals a day, cable tv (i don't even have that), and the occasional pound in the @ss. But an experience like this should, at least I hope so, make an individual think twice before trying to rob somebody.
- chrisdrums2, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6please do not in any way think that i am stickin up for the robber, but dont you think the ass whupping was a little over the top? i mean it was obvious that he had beaten this guy to pulp. why keep beating him? why not subdue him and get the cops there? this surpasses self defense in my opinion...
- lopla, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Great stuff, I want that dude as my body guard.
- Unremarkable, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Fists and knees, baby!
- HerbSolo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2i don't really feel sorry for that guy, because he's brought this to himself, but still i think kicking someone who's lying on the ground is a little over the top
- slogged, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1The cop wouldn't need to beat the crap out of someone, he'd have a gun.
- aluminumpork, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Now now, I don't think plok meant it in a mean way. I could see the same thing happening in a big city with gangs and the like. Getting revenge or something like that.
- kevinisms, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hey, don't you think it was a bit excessive and unnecessary that a guy tried to rob him? Can't he just get a real job like anyone else? Common thugs, the world has no use for them. I love seeing guys like that get theirs when they try to endanger someones life for $50.
- justaminute4500, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I really don't know about that. One thing is fo sho, that dude got his butt kicked like a cheap soccerball.
- KMye, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1You're actually much more verbose than FearTK. He was succinct. But I agree with both of you.
- Adrianc333, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Where was Splinter at?
- T00LB0X, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1NOT FAKE....
Ive seen the original video...the camera was (for the most part) still, but the people in it look very small. The shakyness is an example of someone after the video was shot doing a piss-poor job of panning/cropping/zoom
try this...shake your hand in front of your face from arms length away...looks pretty stationary...now put your hand up to your face and shake it just as much....all of a sudden you cant see anything, hope this clears up the confusion. - HerbSolo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I think after the robber was on the ground, this guy didn't need to beat or kick anymore neither. That's the line between self-defense and self-justice.
- Unremarkable, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1It wasn't necessarily excessive force. Its hard to tell from the video, but the robber looked to be regaining his composure several times during the video. If the robber had a concealed gun or knife on him, he would still be a threat to the storekeep. You have a right to defend yourself, and it would be easy to make the argument that you believed he had a concealed weapon on him. The only rational thing to do is to keep him subdued until you can restrain him, be that by tying him up or knocking him out and locking him in the washroom.
- stigma15, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Yes, he definitely crossed the line. He let his emotions get the better of him, but I can understand why. I would neither condemn nor condone his actions.
