And, kids could climb around and lay on the rear-window shelf in cars and nobody would care or think it was unsafe. It's amazing how many people want to jump on the bandwagon and bash the parents when something like this happens. I'm fairly certain that if she had stopped the kid from getting hurt but gotten in a wreck, everyone would be yelling about how she should have been paying attention to the road instead of disciplining the kids.

The fact that some call it more child-safe is just their way of turning a design limitation into a "feature." If that was an intended child safety feature, they could just as easily use the child lock switch to disable the bottom 6 inches of window travel or something.
