- Myko, on 10/12/2007, -21/+127"Like you, it hits me in the stomach every time I watch it. That morning, it happened between when I left my house and when I got school. I didn't have a radio in my truck at the time, so I had no idea what had just happened.
Every time I see this, I wonder how people can possibly be AGAINST the War on Terror. But they are. I just don't get it."
As a veteran of the War on Terror myself I can't say how much it bothers me to hear the falsity of Iraq being linked with 9-11 by the general public. Understand that Iraq was not invaded because of connections to 9-11 please. No one in America is against the war in Afghanistan and finding Osama, people are against the misinformation spreading about the link between that and Iraq. - SimpleBinary, on 10/12/2007, -30/+78@Chilidawg
How can you get Dugg down for saying that it's 'horrific'?!?! That's a shame!
Those people must never have had any kind of tragedy in their life... - alexhhhh, on 11/28/2008, -2/+38"haRYPCFve"
that's a hell of a ***** typo. - techferret, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36Just like everyone else I can recall that day....I woke up going to school, and I normally turn on the tv and listen to the radio, but I didn't. I got to school and my teacher, administrators, and peers were talking about this and when the broadcast CNN throughout the school......chilling. It really makes me want to choke up still.....makes me sick.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -9/+41If you think we're at war in Iraq due to the 9/11 attacks you're a ***** moron.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+40@ Myko
Thanks for your service, you are a true American hero! - somnus, on 10/12/2007, -10/+39I know I will get dugg down for this, but I feel it is a valid opinion. Myko, this is in NO way meant to discredit or take for granted your services.
I am tired of everyone in "America" (United States of America, that is) being a hero. Everyone and their dog is a hero now. The word has been spread so thin that it no longer has any meaning. I think a hero is someone who selfishly gives their life or risks it without thought of glory or credit to save or help others. I do not think a hero is someone who ends up in a bad situation and survives, or makes the same choice everyone else would make in the same situation, or performs an action easily repeated.
There are not thousands of heroes in Iraq, but I'm sure there are indeed quite a few. - enigmatics, on 10/12/2007, -8/+36I hope you guys feel the exact same way every time a bomb goes off somewhere else in the world.
- Phaetonsurge, on 10/12/2007, -19/+45@theblooms:
There's a right way and a wrong way to do things. Sure I feel that we should exact justice on the criminals who did this, but not in the manner that we're going about it (we = the US).
If Osama bin Laden was involved in this bombing, then why did we go into Iraq? Why are we so concerned with Hizbollah? The "War on Terror" is nothing more than a ***** excuse to take illegal/unfavorable measures. - mraty, on 10/12/2007, -17/+39And to take away our freedoms...
- pumacub, on 10/12/2007, -8/+30@ theblooms
Because 9/11 and the war on terror (translation: the war in Iraq) have nothing to do with each other. 9/11 has become the source of the ultimate excuse. Politicians are furthering their own personal agendas under the guise of "fighting terrorism".
I'm constantly amazed by people's continued reaction to 9/11. Granted, it was a great tragedy, but thousands of innocent people die every day. Victims of drunk drivers, those who are murdered, children dying of starvation, civilians caught in the crossfire, few feel as strongly for these people as they do for the victims of 9/11 because their deaths were not dramatic, there was no larger than life explosion for people to replay over and over again, and so they're forgotten. That is was turns my stomach. - uptown, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Gee, I'm glad that unoriginal.co got their branding on the terror attack video. Gotta make their money.... What *****.....
- jaxshores, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23I remember that day... this clip bring it all back. My uncle was on his way to the towers for work when he saw the destruction. Seeing people jumping out of windows just to hit hard pavement in an act of desperation is a sight that stays with you.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18It's true, I saw it on the Internets.
- Hermitwise, on 10/12/2007, -11/+27 Yes, the "war on terror", such grand terms that will never be met. Next there will be the "war on things that are sharp and pointy".
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+27This isn’t why we’re at war. We would have gone regardless

to answer your question part by part:
"Part I
If we went to "War For Cheap Oil", explain to me why gas is $3.10 a gallon."
Do you think we went to war for cheap oil for YOU?
"Part II
Tell me truthfully, is the world better off
a) WITH Saddam, or
b) WITHOUT Saddam?"
Unfortumately its simple binary decision making (us or them) that caused this problem in the first place, so I'll say B and then elaborate... The world is better off without saddam, without bush, without bin laden, without cheney, without any of these war mongering old men who are sending our young off to fight in their name.
"Part III
If there is no al-Queda in Iraq, explain to me what Zarquai was doing there."
If there are no al-Queda in USA, explain to me what the 911 bombers were doing there?
Zarqawi is described as "The next generation of al-queda" (http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2004-09-14-zarqawi-usat_x.htm)
Al-queda is an unimaginably small group of murder buddies who, after bush declared "WAR" on them, became an ideology to which anyone could subscribe and belong without initiation papers. Anyone can now declare they are fighting infidels, and be called, by both sides, terrorists or al-queda.
To boil it down for you... once bush declared war on the "axis of evil", drew the lines in the sand of "us vs them" he created the Al Queda movement. There are Al Queda in every country now.
"Part IV
Would you rather fight the terrorists:
a) over there
b) over here, or
c) shall we just surrender now and not fight at all. (By the way, c is a trick answer, it is the same answer as b!)"
How about "D" there are no "Terrorists" just a bunch of people reacting to propaganda in their own region, and information passed on to them from our own media. Their own people being held and tortured without trial, women and children being burnt and massacred. A christian force invading. A force of untold wealth, forged from the bounty of middle eastern oil, and the exploitation of their countries. Like us, they don't see things as they really are - like us, the see what their 'leaders' want them to see...
The only enemy in all of this is rich middle aged men who demand our young people fight for them... this is a cult of war. You've bought into it as strongly as your terrorist/freedom fighting brothers... - poondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -10/+23Yeah because everyone knows that Saddam was the mastermind behind the 9-11 attacks.
/boggle - toppgun, on 10/12/2007, -6/+18i will never forget. 7th grade. i was in science at the time. around 11:30. sudenly a school administrator told everyone we had an emergency assebly. we all went to the auditorium and then the headmaster told us what had happened. i will never forget that day. school was dismissed early. i spent the rest of the day watching cnn. i had a friend who lost an uncle in it, it was rough for all of us. we live about a half hour from the city.
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -16/+27Loose Change is total *****. Get over it.
I hate it that people lean on that "documentary" so much for their "proof". None of it makes sense if you actually think a little bit about what they're saying. Landing 200 people in Cleveland? What the *****? Why?
They misrepresent their sources, they use the wrong sources (such as the Rolls Royce plant in Indianapolis, which doesn't even manufacture engines for large planes. I live an hour away from the plane, I know all about it).
Loose Change is alarmist ***** - Zoomrix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I know, I feel the same way. It's also weird how everything seemed to quite down and only the crashing sound is heard from the plane. Just awful footage.
- amanpour, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11It's called "9/11".
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0312318/
Impressive documentary. - actorboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Before doskir gets dugg down, I *think* he accidentally combined terror and horrific there.

(don't look at it if you are offended by the consequences of your own vote)
Tell me truthfully, is the world better off
a) WITH this child, or
b) WITHOUT this child?
That is a simple question requiring a simple a or b answer. - ByteGuerilla, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16@theblooms
People are against the 'War on Terror' [read: the War in Iraq] because it has nothing to do with 9/11, beyond 9/11 being America's 21st Century Pearl Harbour: a pretext with which to justify the invasion of Iraq on misleading grounds.
I supported the real War on Terror and the invasion of Afghanistan to get hold of Osama Bin Laden. I do not support the invasion of our civil liberties so that administrations can chase ghosts and shadows, nor do I support the invasion of sovereign states so that the most awesome military power on the face of the Earth can have the black gold with which to power a needlessly extended arsenal of planes and mechanised infantry. - actorboy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16Being against terrorism and "The War on Terror" are two different things. We have nothing to fear but fear itself, yet the current administration has consistently used fear to promote its agenda. If you can't see that, then you might want to look a little closer.
Should those responsible be stopped? Most assuredly yes. Should our fear of those responsible be an excusable justification for the manufacturing of evidence against uninvolved countries? No. Yet that very practice has spread our forces thin in Iraq, allowing real dangers like North Korea and Iran to rise.
The video is horrible and those responsible should be held accountable. We have yet to do so. - evilTak, on 10/12/2007, -14/+24What? We're at war with Iraq. Even supposing the unlikely fact that Al-qaeda was actually responsible for these events, Iraq has nothing to do with Al-qaeda.
We're at war because the US government manipulated its people into kneejerk warmongering and denounced every voice of dissent as cowardly and unpatriotic. - Zoomrix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Yeah well this is still a closer look than what you saw on tv.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14“Part I
If we went to "War For Cheap Oil", explain to me why gas is $3.10 a gallon.”
It’s not supposed to be cheap for us. Companies like Enron and Halliburton got recorded breaking profits recently because of exclusive, no bid contracts for rights to Iraqi oil. Then they were able to jack up the price for us because of the war. Why do you think they donated billions to Bush’s reelection campaign?
“Part II
Tell me truthfully, is the world better off
a) WITH Saddam, or
b) WITHOUT Saddam?”
B
That said; murdering thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians, and American troops as well as spending billions of taxpayer dollars was not worth it
“Part III
If there is no al-Queda in Iraq, explain to me what Zarquai was doing there.”
We were there, he was fighting us. It’s that simple.
“Part IV
Would you rather fight the terrorists: o
a) over there
b) over here, or
c) shall we just surrender now and not fight at all. (By the way, c is a trick answer, it is the same answer as b!)”
That’s a stupid question. It’s just a republican talking point designed to trick people into saying they want to fight them over there. In reality there is nothing in the way of anther 911 especially now that we are officially ignoring bin ladin. - somnus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Your knee-jerk reactions missed what I think (and hope...) was the point of that comment made in poor taste. If that is indeed a satirical comment, it's bang on to what Americans want on TV (in general): action. Ever seen a car accident? I wouldn't say it's enjoyable to watch, but for some reason people want to, or can't stop themselves. If it wasn't a comment made in severely poor taste, it was a pretty scathing satire on American TV culture.
- skankyBacon, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15It's "set up us the bomb!" Like, omg...
- darkfate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It's really bad... There was this documentary made by these two french guys about a fireman who came in as a rookie when 9/11 happened. They actually have the video of the plane striking the first tower. I never thought anyone had that footage. It's kinda weird because they're filming and then all of a sudden, you hear a loud noise and you see this low and plane, and you're just like "O, sh*t!" If anyone remembers the name of the doc. you can put it in a comment.
- hypnotiq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8the reflection of the explosion in the building to the right is incredible. this angle really captures how massive this was at impact. it's unbelievable that firefighters even attempted to enter that building, it was a death trap. so sad.
- CravenTwain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Sort of tasteless that a URL for a tacky clip site gets flashed up halfway through. Is 9/11 suddenly suitable for viral marketing now?
- Zoomrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8It was the "Are you a human" accident. :P I was typing and it typed on the description and I didn't notice that.
- rtay150, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14I hope those sick terrorist bastards are burning in hell.
- codethis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8did it piss anybody else off when they saw the advertissement for the website it is from right in the middle of the movie?
- doskir, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8yeah sorry it was an accident im damn tired and i suck at english meant to write horrific
- sixlocal, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11As somebody that witnessed that with my own eyes -- I woke up, looked out the window, and saw the second plane hit the building -- I'm definitely against this current "war on terror."
There is a right way and a wrong way to do things. How many people have we prosecuted for this crime? Where is the real justice?
Blowing up buildings and killing lots of people in the Middle East doesn't make up for any of this. I don't care about how many evil dictators we have overthrown as a "result." It has nothing to do with this. An eye for an eye doesn't count when we're poking them out of random strangers that happen to not like us. - actorboy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10http://www.metacafe.com/fplayer/31999/rare_sep_11_clip.swf
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14..that might be an indication that you need to update your flash player.. just a thought
- elShaggy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Is metacafe run my Mozilla? it tellls me to get rid of Safari and run Firefox.... Metacafe can piss off.
- actorboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7No probs, my friend. Knowing that you're Austrian made it decipherable.
- doskir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8im getting a sad feeling everytime i watch this too as i remember watching the simpsons on tv and suddenly the broadcast got intercepted with a news stream you could see people jump out of the windows because they knew they were going to die (its smarter to jump out of a building and hit the ground as its less painfull than burning in the flames) memorys are still strong even after nearly 5 years (im from austria and it still felt kinda terrific seeing all these people die)
- levitron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6first thing *I* thought when I saw it...
- dep01, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Does this video have footage of government officials detonating the explosives?
