- metapop, on 01/07/2008, -4/+206did anyone else think this was going to be a map drawn by a blonde consisting of countries such as "paris" and "the moon"?
- r1ptide64, on 01/07/2008, -15/+111Notice how the countries shaped like penises have the highest concentration of blondes?
- DeviantDragon, on 01/07/2008, -2/+95Wasn't this common sense that Northern European, ie: Nordic, people were more blonde than those closer to the Mediterranean
- bamafun, on 01/07/2008, -5/+60are you sure Miss South Carolina didn't color this map?
- ChrisLs, on 01/07/2008, -0/+47I think you should go see a doctor about your penis

- Paroparo, on 01/07/2008, -1/+27Their definition of "light hair" must be pretty loose, because a vast majority of people have some sort of brown hair here in Finland. Our country is racially very different to the rest of Scandinavia (if you count Finland as a part of Scandinavia, which many don't), and I've always been under the impression that most blonde people have a lot of Swedish blood in them.
- Zippo, on 01/07/2008, -0/+26Yes, because she doesn't have a map to begin with...
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -10/+34Scandinavia here I come!
- doctordbx, on 01/07/2008, -5/+28We're a dying breed.
- widgetmaker, on 01/07/2008, -4/+25Apparently the server is run by blondes. Mirror?
- bonarez, on 01/07/2008, -2/+20Ok enough with the blondes jokes, they happen to be an endangered species: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/2284783.stm It's very sad, I happen to digg blondes..
- kalleanka, on 01/07/2008, -5/+22I very strongly doubt this in any way is accurate. It's most likely just a joke map someone did without doing any research.
As a Swede I can tell for sure that the area of Sweden, Norway and Finland that is yellow is completely arbitrary. It's not so that the middle part of our countries have more blonds than the other parts.
A correct map would have lots of yellow dots around the country where individual cities with high blond ratio would be visible. - philz, on 01/07/2008, -1/+17http://www.bloodyhell.nl/images/map_of_american_is ... (not my site, not my pic)
I wonder how many Americans come to Switzerland to see Sweden :-) - has2k1, on 01/07/2008, -10/+26Can this double as an intelligence map? Just asking.
- liah, on 01/07/2008, -1/+15Bottle-blondes tend to be the dumbest. All the natural blondes I've ever known have actually been quite smart, generally overachievers in school, athletic, friendly, and modest. Not quite like some of the bottled versions who are stuck up, gossipy, loose, lazy drunks.
Though there are exceptions to everything. - tictac888, on 01/07/2008, -2/+16That would disprove the entire premise of blonde jokes...
- duke, on 01/07/2008, -0/+13Um, I can't find America on this map . . . .
- benguild, on 01/07/2008, -0/+13Your dick doesn't look like a country?
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -1/+14Notice how the top of Scandinavia is not as blond as the rest. The reason for this is that this region is inhabited by the Sami (referred to as Skraelinger by the vikings, and in recent literary work) people which are ethnically related to Mongolians., these people have interbred with the blond vikings of the time leaving me with a dubious heritage, and brown hair with blue eyes.
- Meatpuppet79, on 01/07/2008, -0/+13Its a Finno-Ugric language. Its distant roots are Hungarian believe it or not. Reality is that it is about as similar to Finnish as Latin is to English.
- UndeadZmobie, on 01/07/2008, -0/+12When they what?
- charlie55, on 01/07/2008, -1/+13interesting point, but you will have a hard time convincing anyone you are not racist if you do not favor interracial breeding. perhaps you are racist, which is ok by me.
- UrlorJkron, on 01/07/2008, -1/+13Personally, I never thoughy using bleach on one's head was all that smart to begin with.
- chris9902, on 01/07/2008, -1/+13jokes aren't funny if you have to explain them.
- lysdexia, on 01/07/2008, -1/+12The people of Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway are regularly and consistently amongst the highest academic achievers on Earth. Source: BBC international education tables. Finland being the highest ranking of all.
- ani625, on 01/07/2008, -6/+17Been there, dugg that. not again.
- duke, on 01/07/2008, -0/+11. . . but I found the Iraq
- panicofficer, on 01/07/2008, -0/+11It'd be interesting to see the dispersion of different traits throughout the rest of the world. I happen to be blonde and I really don't know that many true blondes. And, no, we aren't stupid. As far ancestry, it's Dutch/German as best I can tell.
- ReadItAndWeep, on 01/07/2008, -5/+15I've devoted my life to preserving human biodiversity. It is ironic that those who claim to be for diversity, really want to see diversity destroyed with interbreeding and multiculturalism. Personally, I think having different ethnicities and cultures makes the world an interesting place. I don't hate people because of differences and wish to preserve them.
- ExiL3, on 01/07/2008, -0/+10we call it Kommune-grått here where I live in Norway, and I have it! :D
FYI; you don't have to travel south for your hair to brighten... my hair gets brighter and brighter when spring and summer arrives. When I was a kid, my hair was almost white each summer. Now I more or less get natural stripes in my hair of blond and darker blond... - colonelbuckshot, on 01/07/2008, -6/+16Watch the whole map fade to brown over the next 200 years.
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -2/+12True, Finland is part of the North or the Nordic countries, but are not really considered to be "Scandinavian" by rest. Where is your language from again?
- weeeezzll, on 01/07/2008, -3/+13Oh really? Can you actually support that claim with some sort of evidence or are you just saying things to be contrary?
- Radan, on 01/07/2008, -0/+10Aright, someone needs to define "blonde hair" to me here. I'm a Swede and I can with certainty say that there's not a snowball's chance in hell that more than 50% of the population are blond. Most people I know got a more or less brownish hair colour. Though, I dunno, we Swedes might just simply got a tougher definition of when someone may be classified as a blonde.
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -3/+12rss.
- widgetmaker, on 01/07/2008, -0/+9That's due to Scandinavian invaders never taking the whole country and the line very roughly correlates with where they got too. Below the line was the remnants of Roman invasion thus not blonde.
- Cupantae, on 01/07/2008, -0/+8*you're, *it, *cite
I take it that you're not blond, since you have bad grammar and spelling - ReadItAndWeep, on 01/07/2008, -4/+11Yes, the areas that have natural blondes are the intelligent areas. The areas with bleached blondes are the less intelligent areas. (Blondes tend to have high IQs ;-) )
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -2/+9it's next to such as country of spanish
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -1/+8my dick is like planet earth, you're all on it
- saetaes, on 01/07/2008, -0/+7Definitely due to the Vikings. Look at the similarities between this map and:
http://www.dkimages.com/discover/Home/History/Euro ... - Zippo, on 01/07/2008, -0/+7no no, it's the Democratic Republic of Such As.
- inactive, on 01/07/2008, -2/+9I have no idea!
On a side note, America, which is coincidentally shaped like something big, have lots of fat people in it. - SimonGray, on 01/07/2008, -0/+7http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danelaw
- CrimsonBlur, on 01/07/2008, -3/+10Well what they do is, they take your idea and they average it out so you aren't just looking at random dots but the big picture. If they did it your way the map would be even more pointless than it already is.
- bmson, on 01/07/2008, -0/+7There is a hair color in Scandinavia (Nordic countries) that is often called sand-blond.
It's not blond and not brown, some where between.
In Iceland it's often called rat-color.
When Scandinavians travel south, to countries like Spain and Italy, their hair usually get much brighter (even blond) within 2 weeks, because of the sun. - Scynet, on 01/07/2008, -0/+7Most people just think Scandinavia as the Nordic Countries, or Nordic Region: "Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden and their associated territories which include the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Åland."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordic_countries - DeviantDragon, on 01/07/2008, -0/+6Wow, you even dig with two g's when it comes to women.
- wenomspitta, on 01/07/2008, -0/+6Im from Latvia and if we are in the 50%+ percentile than they have to had counted the light-brown haired people as blondes too.
