- jlpete9, on 09/11/2008, -1/+48So the phone thing is cool, but the bigger deal seems to be that the baby's primary caretaker is known to randomly faint.
- hairyjim, on 09/12/2008, -4/+21I'm more amazed the baby said "Who's that?"at 11 months old.
Least its not about Palin. - Xebozone, on 09/12/2008, -1/+13"Mrs Wright said: "If Millie hadn't answered the phone, I wouldn't have known what had happened."
Here's what would have happened:
""She ... told them she had not called them so the officers broke down the door to get in and help...She did not need hospital treatment."
Other more needy people could have used the paramedics!
Millie was being bad after all! - juzsp, on 09/11/2008, -0/+10i was 17 when i got my first mobile phone!
11 months? they'll be handing them out with birth certificates next!
... she told them she hadn't called them so they broke down the door anyway? Riiiiight! - jamesdew, on 09/12/2008, -0/+9Exactly this whole story doesn't make any sense
- jamesdew, on 09/12/2008, -0/+7How did the baby help? Now she has a broken door, if the baby hadn't done anything she would have woken up and everything would be fine.
- GBurgKhana, on 09/12/2008, -0/+6Sounds like another genius baby. Let's get this one to Battle School!
/Ender's Game reference. - inactive, on 09/12/2008, -0/+6She told them she hadn't called them so they broke the door down. If she was conscious, then why didn't she open the door and tell them she hadn't called them ? Why shout through your front door to an ambulance crew ?
- jeremyduffy, on 09/12/2008, -0/+5Not to mention the idea that an 11 month old kid did this on purpose is a little ludicrous. She probably wasn't supposed to play with the phone and when mommy was conveniently "lying down" she grabbed it and started playing with it. Like most phones, you can hit any key to answer it. There's no miracle here.
- BrokenCircle, on 09/12/2008, -3/+8Still ***** mentioned her.
- scooterbaga, on 09/12/2008, -0/+4An infinite number of monkeys with... cellphones.
- Orsenfelt, on 09/12/2008, -0/+4Standard procedure. They got a call for 999, If you don't come to the door then say "No, Everything is fine, Go away please.." They are busting in.
- inactive, on 09/12/2008, -1/+5I'm amazed. A 11-month-old talking baby. Normally it's 14-20 months before a baby can speak "mama" alone. About 24 months before a baby can ask "Who's that?"
"Linda Wright, Millie's grandmother, was on the other end of the line and heard the baby say "Who's that?" and "Mama"." - BjorkG, on 09/12/2008, -1/+4I don't know about all this. My brothers baby is older then that and she can't say *****. But if it's true and not embellished then props to the baby.
- dbinder, on 09/12/2008, -0/+2Crap, perhaps I shouldn't have removed my kid's "mobile" from the crib two months ago.
/not sure what some flying bunnies could do anyhow - DocHoliday22, on 09/12/2008, -1/+3***** it! let's go in....
- goodolboykt, on 09/14/2008, -0/+2Is a mobile the same as a cell phone??? fainting and fitting??? so she faints and starts fitting what? Is 999 another way to reach 911 if they are busy?? I think they misspelled mom with mum...
- chadell, on 09/12/2008, -1/+3I believe in miracles
- Sillywombat, on 09/12/2008, -0/+2Its just like one of those rabbit/cat/dog saves owner story.
hehe - leeesher, on 09/12/2008, -3/+5Before RTFA I thought the submitter meant the baby used the thing you hang over a crib to help her mother. This mobile phone garbage is far less interesting.
- Cybermaul, on 09/12/2008, -0/+2Can Lightning Palin!
- aldakemina, on 09/12/2008, -1/+3This is dumb. The mom was fine, she was awake when the police came?!
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 09/12/2008, -0/+2Sweet I am: Flag Cobra Palin
- kriswa, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1most babies can say 'mama' or something similar well before six months -- my own dear daughter already knew how to operate the PVR/DVD/TV, and call random numbers on our mobiles, (if they were left unlocked) before the age of six months, but couldn't string two words together until around 14 months.
however, different children develop at different ages -- boys in particular don't develop speech and cognitive function until much later than girls, but are far more coordination-advanced than girls at an early age (methinks this explains why females make such terrible navigators :-).
this case is really not as big a stretch as some people seem to think, certainly not at 11 months. - redroooz, on 09/23/2008, -0/+1if the baby hadn't done anything she would have woken up and everything would be fine

- inactive, on 09/12/2008, -4/+1I thought this article was about Mr. Babyman cheating the system by digging with his cellphone. I think fast.
- ZoolTool, on 09/12/2008, -4/+1I didn't know you could collapse unconscious from using a mobile phone. Creepy!
- kishosingh, on 09/11/2008, -6/+3In coming future mobile phones will be famous like this story.
