- knegil, on 06/29/2008, -11/+96But, will he blend?
- theragu40, on 06/29/2008, -2/+73Yes...but that's not much of a qualifying statement. *Everyone* is better than nickelback, whether they play an instrument or not.
- Stonekeeper, on 06/29/2008, -2/+62"He's already better than Meg White!"
So am I and I'm a guitarist. Bless her. - DefaultGen, on 06/29/2008, -4/+57I bet he can already pass Run to the Hills.
- Badtastic, on 06/29/2008, -8/+53*cough*
Baby ears are sensitive. How about some earplugs?
.....or do we want to digg a 14 year old prodigy in a couple years who cant hear what he's playing? - prodigy13, on 06/28/2008, -7/+50Innate ability or learned? That's what I want to know.
- inactive, on 06/28/2008, -13/+53That's amazing!
- JRjJ106, on 06/29/2008, -2/+32I hate Nickelback.
- longcat99, on 06/29/2008, -6/+34thats frickin sweet.. i wish my parents trained me in something amazing that young...
- manzplan, on 06/28/2008, -8/+34show off...
- saadshamim, on 06/29/2008, -5/+31probably the coolest kid day care.
- peterjmag, on 06/29/2008, -2/+27He's already better than the rest of the band...
- secondfiddle, on 06/29/2008, -1/+25Pssst, its a japanese robot.
- FrankTheTank17, on 06/29/2008, -0/+23He definately has the beat down and some good coordination, I'd like to see this kid when he's grown up and if he still plays.
Has anybody ever heard of Igor Falecki? He's a litle kid in Poland who's been drumming since the same age. According to the interviews his whole family is musicians and he just picked up drum sticks and started banging on pots and pans by himself. The parents never pressure him into continue playing or anything and he's gotten pretty amazing. He's 6 or 7 now but here's my favorite video of him when he's 5:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=h59eZzvJu4k - latinjones, on 06/29/2008, -0/+21I know you weren't trying to discredit the kid or anything but let me talk him up a bit more.
Do you have kids or have you spent much time with 2 year olds? They typically don't have much in the way of rhythm. I've never personally met a 2 year old that even clap to the beat for more than 3 seconds... - Boooohjoke, on 06/29/2008, -0/+20Wooo, baby powder; don't breathe this.
- iPsyko, on 06/29/2008, -1/+20Now i'm going to press the "Baby Food" button.
- hazza18, on 06/29/2008, -11/+30Anyone is better than Meg White.
- zdiddy85, on 06/29/2008, -0/+17Here's my two-cents:
He's sitting on his dad's lap, who is running the bass drum. So he's bouncing with the beat already, therefore just hits the drums at the same tempo. Still, very talented indeed. Hope he sticks with it. - Uberpog, on 06/29/2008, -2/+18true
- ryancxx, on 06/29/2008, -3/+20Leave it to digg to act like an 80 year old woman.
- idolwalrus, on 06/29/2008, -4/+19Tiger Woods Syndrome
- BrendanSheehan, on 06/29/2008, -1/+15The obvious answer is both.
- prodigy13, on 06/28/2008, -1/+15Just look at how easy he makes it seems as well...
- JRjJ106, on 06/29/2008, -1/+13Wouldn't John Bonham's son, Jason, be John Bonham 2? Especially since Jason has filled in for his dad in Led Zeppelin reunion concerts.
- Aikidi, on 06/29/2008, -1/+12jason bonham admittedly is probably offended by this remark
- jnuffnuffnomnom, on 06/29/2008, -5/+16Distinct lack of talent shown here. He's no backstreet boy.
- Shaderone, on 06/29/2008, -0/+11Yeah, the kid's hitting a few off-beat snare shots to jazz up the drums, and he's really hitting them with great timing. Additionally, I don't think there was anything wrong with the timing of the cymbals and crashes. For the one, he slowed down slightly towards the end of the song, but he kept all the cymbals properly spaced, and he always used the crash around the end of each bar.
- yourmightyruler, on 06/29/2008, -0/+11High on life.
- latinjones, on 06/29/2008, -1/+11Eh.....hearing your music is overrated. Beethoven went completely deaf and still made some jams (* they were jams back in the day I guess).
- diggproof, on 06/29/2008, -1/+11nickelback is the ***** band in the whole world. Have you ever vomited to their lyrics? They are so truely lame. I hate nickelback DAY AND NIGHT. and let me just ask you one favor, can you tell me why this guy is constipated?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blackcountry/music/2004/06/ni ...
Because he's that guy from nickleback
GO TO HELL NICKELBACK - inactive, on 06/28/2008, -8/+16John Bonham 2
- Greyscale88, on 06/29/2008, -1/+10I love when people bash Meg White, it's sort of like announcing to the world that yr a retard. Meg White drums simple beats because that's what White Stripes songs call for. If you're looking for elaborate fills yr listening to the wrong band.
- LenBaird, on 06/29/2008, -2/+11All he is doing is keeping time with the bass drum. The kid is all over it with the cymbals and the little snare variations.
- feanix, on 06/29/2008, -3/+12Saying "trained" makes it seem like something you'd do to a monkey...
- GentlePacifist, on 06/29/2008, -1/+10God I hate little kids... always so much more talented than me at such a young age.
- dafragsta, on 06/29/2008, -0/+8How do you know he doesn't have ear plugs.
- vangard, on 06/29/2008, -0/+8Latinjones i think is right. Not only that, the kid appears to do some 8th notes and fills. He's not simply hitting straight to the rhythm of the bass drum. There's definitely talent there.
- stuwanker, on 06/29/2008, -1/+9Yeah, just like how her singing is strained and off-key because that's what White Stripes songs call for.
- Aikidi, on 06/29/2008, -0/+8bless her my ass. she cancelled ACL. and jack wouldnt ***** replace her for the show.
that should have gone down like "hey, of the thousands of drummers here, one of you want to incoherently bang your way through the white stripes set?"
we would have all enjoyed it - Hotei, on 06/29/2008, -4/+11That's the kinda Dad i'm aspiring to be! Note to self buying a console and a copy of Guitar Hero won't cut it.
- ExSlashdotter, on 06/29/2008, -0/+6'expand her style'?
how about 'learn to use her hands and feet at the same time'? - terracottapai, on 06/29/2008, -0/+7You are either the worst troll ever or the most pathetic excuse for a human being I've come across.
- Greyscale88, on 06/29/2008, -0/+6She sings on like 2 songs...out of what? 5 albums?
- jarklejam, on 06/29/2008, -0/+6Didn't hurt Beethoven.
- mmmmmbiscuits, on 06/29/2008, -2/+8"Saying "trained" makes it seem like something you'd do to a monkey..."
LOL but that's exactly what it is! He's just been trained to bang some ***** with sticks in the proper sequence. If he's some kind of genius then why is he probably playing riffs with a big load in his diaper? Granted, plenty of drummers from classic rock bands of the 60's and 70's probably have the same problem, but that's another story...
And yet, if his father continues training him then he'll probably have a huge leg up on the other kids who don't start their music lessons until mid to late elementary school. I didn't start piano until the ripe old age of 10 and at youth competitions in my teens I routinely got musical ass-kickings by the kids who had started 4+ years earlier. - ryancxx, on 06/29/2008, -0/+5The dad is only playing the kick. You can see the dads left hand around the kid a bit past the beginning of the video.
