- JasonCox, on 07/18/2009, -3/+89I love how these rich women somehow feel their entitled to all this money when they've just been sitting on their asses for 20 years and have never worked a day in their miserable, yet lavish, lives. Makes me sick.
- inactive, on 07/18/2009, -3/+42There are no guarantees of living "Happily ever after." If you have a fortune... always get a prenup.
- salinungatha, on 07/18/2009, -3/+39These things are relative - when you're earning little and have saved even less, a divorce will feel more expensive than the costliest billionaire CEO divorce.
- GoKings, on 07/19/2009, -1/+33I hate those shows like "Real Housewives of Orange County" where these lazy leeches on this planet look down on others who don't have money, as if they've done anything to earn where they are. It's disgusting that someone who has earned hundreds of millions of dollars building an empire has to give up half because he put a ring on her finger. The guys are just as dumb for not having a pre-nup. But go ahead and keep your nose up as if these women have accomplished anything more than open and close their legs and look pretty (sometimes they can't even do that). I'm speaking in generalities of course.
- KaivenTor, on 07/19/2009, -1/+24I ain't saying they're all gold diggers... But 99% of them probably are.
- Resistoon, on 07/19/2009, -0/+22Couldn't live on $53,000 a week....Seriously?
- effingvic, on 07/19/2009, -1/+20Yep, pre-nup for sure. Girls can be ***** evil.
- megaton, on 07/19/2009, -2/+21I'm pretty sure losing $2,000,000,000 hurts regardless of how much you have. ;)
- MountainGoatMan, on 07/18/2009, -1/+14All of that money sure will buy a lot of sandwich making supplies
- svendm, on 07/19/2009, -1/+14Or.. move to a country with sane divorce laws. Like Germany or France or Sweden or.. almost anywhere except the UK and USA.
- UV0001, on 07/18/2009, -1/+14I don't know why someone dugg you down. If you're rich and want to make sure the future spouse isn't marrying you just for the money, then this is a valid course to take. Assuming you can find a spouse who won't take offense to it and is willing to sign one.
- DRT23, on 07/19/2009, -1/+1480hr weeks bud.
- blackpen2008, on 07/19/2009, -3/+16Buried for 10 pages.
- blackinthmiddle, on 07/19/2009, -0/+12Sorry, that's *****! "Your honor. I simply can't live on $53,000 a week!" I think I remember that case. The woman is royalty in Sweden or some ***** like that. She's got three houses over there. If I recall, she listed as an expense $1500 a week in clothing!!!!
Now fine, you're trying to keep the kids as sane as possible. Whatever country club school they were in before, they should stay there. Now I don't care where you live in the world. If you can't manage your ***** on $53K a week you're doing something wrong. I can hear it now.
"But your honor, I spend $100K a year just on landscaping m properties."
"Well then you know what? SELL THEM!"
Marrying someone doesn't mean you won the lotto! - inactive, on 07/19/2009, -2/+14I despise the institution of marriage as it exists today, it's just an easy way for women to get a free house and a monthly check once it's over.
Women should get NOTHING in a divorce. In b4 ad hominem attacks about me being underage or a virgin, if you support the way things are you are whipped. - inactive, on 07/18/2009, -9/+20so you think you get to be a billionare wallstreet banker by.. doing nothing and being lazy or dumb?
so the reason you are poor is because you are hard working and intelligent? - BillE3, on 07/18/2009, -1/+12All part of the overhead to have a trophy wife. They do not come cheaply.
- omgwtflawl, on 07/18/2009, -2/+11I think its time for the state to mosey its way out of marriage entirely. What do these drawn-out court appearances do except to extend suffering of all involved? And what does the state currently do in terms of divorce settlements that could not be accomplished by a private contract that both parties sign upon marriage?
Gay marriage would also immediately become a non-issue. How could the state prevent an action they have no control over? - footprints137, on 07/19/2009, -0/+9Amazing, people in America are struggling to make ends meet, and then there are gold digging women like this that cannot live on 53,000 a week, get real.
- DDRRE, on 07/19/2009, -2/+11"If you ain't no punk, holla We Want Prenup
'WE WANT PRENUP!' Yeaah
It's something that you need to have,
Cause when she leave yo' ass she gon' leave with half."
--Kanye West - blackinthmiddle, on 07/19/2009, -0/+9I can't agree with you more. Watch Dr. 90210. I haven't in a while, but there's one Dr. on there named Michael Ray. His wife is literally 95 lbs at 5'7" and has implants. It's simply amazing the amount of entitlement this woman displays. She went out with a realtor to buy a 10,000 square foot house WITHOUT TELLING HER HUSBAND! When he comes home and asks what's the deal, she says the 9K sq ft home they have now is too small!!! All 95 lbs of her and two kids. When he complained, she pitched a fit and said, "WE'RE BUYING THAT HOUSE!!!"
Although it kills the romance, if I had the kind of cash these guys had, I don't see how I could marry anybody without a prenup. - Awwzm, on 07/18/2009, -1/+8I don't care how much they put out...there's no way it's worth millions / billions.
- freakish_beast, on 07/18/2009, -1/+8Funny how its all women who want the divorce except for the one affair situation which was the guy's fault.....
- hotsauzz, on 07/19/2009, -0/+7Prenups aren't enough. Judges throw those out all the time if it wasn't considered fair and equitable to begin with.
Best solution, get a long term girlfriend. DON'T MARRY! - blackinthmiddle, on 07/19/2009, -0/+6Well you can't throw the baby out with the bathwater. If kids are involved, courts have to ensure that they're taken care of. Obviously with these guys, the dog gets taken care of better than 99% of the people in the world!
- hotshotveggie, on 07/18/2009, -1/+7Consider making a new profile then...
- kernel16, on 07/19/2009, -0/+6We seriously quoting Kanye West now!?
- koji150, on 07/19/2009, -2/+7Michael Huffington and Arianna Stassinopoulos.
- RedSquaree, on 07/19/2009, -1/+6One word: prenup.
- charters14, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5Did anyone notice that Russian billionaire was wearing a digital watch? Is that classy in Russia?
- Paulish, on 07/19/2009, -1/+6It's shocking to realize how many millions or even billions of dollars these men are willing to spend just to get rid of a woman. They must be really terrible. Hell, I would keep the money and put up with the bitch.
- blackinthmiddle, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5I think that's the big problem. You find the perfect girl. Everything is going great. Even you are thinking about marriage before she mentions it. Do you offend this person (and possibly lose them) by mentioning a prenup? Or do you think "till death do us part" and land up having to give her the GNP of Kenya to get rid of her in a divorce?
Years ago, I dated a model. She never made it big time, but she did little print ad work here and there. 6'0" Trinidadian girl. She *had* to have liked me because I was four years younger than her, in college and didn't have two nickles to rub together. I can always go to my grave knowing that at one point in my life, I was able to fool a beautiful model into liking me. And she liked me for me because seriously, there were days when I didn't know where my next meal was coming from! I had ZERO financially to offer her!!!
Not that I would ever complain, but I think one of the big questions every rich guy eventually has to ask himself is, Is this hot woman with me because of *me* or my money? When she laughs, is it because we're connecting or because she has ulterior motives? My wife had a co-worker who was cheating on her husband for 25 freakin' years and he had no idea. Imagine this guy for years thinking he's connecting with his wife only to be cuckolded. Sucks. - inactive, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5Another reason to not get married. Ever. Thanks Tom Leykis!
- mark076h, on 07/18/2009, -2/+6Why can't a list like this go on one page? buried as spam.
- greenvortex, on 07/18/2009, -16/+19If there's anyone who deserves to have half their money taken by someone who never did a day of real work in their life, it is Wall St. banker.
- JohnChapin, on 07/19/2009, -1/+4Thank you for saying this, I have the same opinion in this matter.
- dustinbolton, on 07/19/2009, -1/+4Try MissTroll / MsTroll.
- omgwtflawl, on 07/19/2009, -0/+3"in many legal matters, as one."
By "in many legal matters" you are referring to the "income tax", correct? I guess there is a few others, like how you don't have to testify against a spouse in court, etc, but that is the real difference.
I don't think there should be an income tax at all, and if that were true the issue would pretty much be irrelevant. But even assuming there is an income tax, I don't see why the government should treat 2 people as one. It smacks of discrimination against those who aren't married, and it makes the already incomprehensible income tax code even worse.
"If you try to split finances/refer to two people instead of one, it will complicate other areas of finance, law, reality, and even children."
Quite the opposite, I think it will simplify matters greatly. There are all sorts of special cases dealing with law and income tax which are created specifically for married people, which makes these things much more complicated then they have to be. - barthrh, on 07/19/2009, -0/+3George Lucas paid $500 million in 1985. These are little league in comparison.
- procto2012, on 07/19/2009, -0/+3***** marriage !!
- JK1150, on 07/19/2009, -0/+2NJ Governor Jon Corzine should've made this list, his divorce sucked
- omgwtflawl, on 07/19/2009, -0/+2"I disagree, the point is for them to protect people in situations where families would be ruined, such as a single mother ending up with 3 children and very little income. It forces responsibility on people who otherwise would neglect it."
Why couldn't a simple clause in a document signed at marriage take care of this problem? - psykiv, on 07/19/2009, -0/+2I have to question the intelligence of these people. Surely a hitman (and the proceeding court trials and paying off the judges and jury) would be FAR cheaper than any of these divorces. Seriously, just kill off the bitch.
- nonymous666, on 07/19/2009, -1/+3I agree. A couple friends have asked me about my position on gay marriage. I tell them I'm against it. Then after they take that in, I follow up and tell them that I'm not specifically against gays getting married, it's just that I don't think the government should be recognizing man/woman marriages, either. It should be left to your church. If you don't go to church, then you don't need to be 'married'. Just live together. If you're worried about inheritance and whatnot when you die, then that's what wills and contracts are for.
And don't even get me started on married couples filing jointly on their tax returns. - DiggMeUpPlz, on 07/19/2009, -0/+2The smart ones make 9 million...
- mickstephenson, on 07/19/2009, -1/+3If that kind of thinking became the norm do you not think that long term girlfriends would become a reason for entitlement, which in turn would further blur the lines of responsibility to your parter. If that became the case the evaluation of the significance of your relationship and your partners dependence would have to be decided by anecdotal evidence of witnesses. I don't know about you but the possibility of being fleeced by a foolish conscious decision is preferable than unwittingly stumbling into a situation whereby you have unconsciously assumed that position and by the time you realise this, you have no safe way of removing yourself from the situation. It make the entire notion of long term relationships a dangerous concept from the get go.
- bat-21, on 07/20/2009, -0/+1I hate it when Juanita Jordan is put on these lists. When she met Michael, she was an investment banker and probably made more than him. The Bulls were paying him a basic starter salary and he had only 2 endorsements, Nike and a local Chevy dealership. Juanita renegotiated his Nike deal, bumped up the Chevy deal to a national campaign and lined up all of his other endorsements. While they are now divorced, she still does all of his bookkeeping and runs the Michael Jordan foundation, which she set up.
- schrutefan, on 07/19/2009, -1/+2Jack Ryan's divorce didn't cost him the senate seat. He was going to lose to Obama regardless - we was down more than 20 points in the polls before the incriminating files were released.
- RebornInFlames, on 07/19/2009, -0/+1Hey now, Michael Jordan's on there too. The fact is these women decide they simply want to end it and since they are greedy whores, decide to fleece their former lovers for all they're worth.
