- Listerfiend305, on 09/15/2008, -2/+8311/13/08. The day when millions of relationships will end.
- cubicledrone, on 09/15/2008, -6/+82DING! All your gear is worthless. Start over.
- sinizuh, on 09/15/2008, -3/+53Well, time to get my vacation booked off.
- shadowkin, on 09/15/2008, -0/+43Damn straight.
My wife'll be to 80 before I am probably. It'll cause such a strain. - bretto, on 09/15/2008, -3/+45This could be one of the most important days in the history of the world......................of Warcraft.

- StupidGit, on 09/15/2008, -4/+34Damn. Playing the Beta, they've got a lot of work to do between now and then.
- veriix, on 09/15/2008, -4/+33Been clean of WoW for 79 days...must...not...have re-laps
- TerrapinRangler, on 09/15/2008, -1/+30You are 2 years too late
- itsJALbert, on 09/15/2008, -0/+24I could be in the minority, but I play the game because it's fun. The only motivation for getting better gear is to be able to do new content. I'm not sad that I'm losing the stuff I worked for, I'm happy that there's more game to be played.
- Zeag, on 09/15/2008, -1/+25Oh come on, you don't have to go out to have a social life! Look at all those beautiful "social networking" ads here on digg! Look at all these cuties chatting on their laptops and laughing while looking at the camera!
If we see so much of those, It must because some people are gullible enough to click them. God bless 'em and their WoW characters. - brignasty, on 09/15/2008, -10/+32What is WoW?
warhammer WAAAGH! - colombian201, on 09/15/2008, -2/+23 I give it a month before you come back to us !
:D - castletech, on 09/15/2008, -4/+23I already took a few days off of work and told my GF I will be on vacation. I can't wait to get a random green drop that is totaly better than my epics.
- cardyology, on 09/15/2008, -1/+19Like he said, he can't wait.
- ontain, on 09/15/2008, -10/+28I'll be too busy playing Warhammer Online. A MMORPG that actually involves war.
- archer75, on 09/15/2008, -5/+22Blizzard is running scared of Warhammer. First on the same week that Warhammer announces a release date Blizzard then announces their new recruit a friend promotion which involves triple experience, free levels and a mount. Some podcasters say this feels rushed out without the usual Blizzard polish.
Second, the same week that Warhammer releases a new cinematic Blizzard releases theirs(which had been completed for a long time) at Leipzig. Not even their own game conference. They could have released it at the World Wide Invitational or they could have released it at Blizzcon(like BC cinematic). Interesting timing.
Third, just prior to the Warhammer CE preorder launch Blizzard announces PvE to PvP realm transfers. Something they said they would never do. Then there was a huge amount of new Wrath beta keys sent out. Now just before the warhammer retail box pre order launch they announce a release date for Wrath. Blizzard announced the BC expansion release only when it had gone gold. Blizzard always says a game will come out when it's done and they don't post launch dates until it's done. Well Wrath is still far from being complete and certainly no where near going gold yet they have announced a date and will have to stick with it. Bugs and all. A move very unlike Blizzard. Why not announce the release date at their own blizzcon?
Love or Hate warhammer it's clear it is competition for WoW(and blizzard knows it), something they have not had for a very long time. And it has them backpedaling. Hopefully this will get them working on some real innovation in the game along with meaningful PvP. Competition is great for the consumer. - BugMeNot2, on 09/15/2008, -0/+16I think that happened four years ago.
- socalftw, on 09/15/2008, -0/+16And new ones will begin.
*I take off my robe and wizard hat.* - xcbxcb, on 09/15/2008, -0/+15What's the problem?
The main tank lives in Vancouver. He's working on his PhD. He enjoys fishing and boating.
The main paladin healer is in Virginia. He drinks too much.
The off heals are handled by my wife.
The off tank is from Arizona. He's gay. His father was ex-military. He just came out of the closet to his family.
The mage just had surgery on her toe. She's loopy on pain pills.
I could go on, but I know these people as well as I know some of my cousins. Is that a bad thing?
If you think that communicating with people on-line is so awful, perhaps Digg isn't the right place for you to hang out. - PrismoFillusion, on 09/15/2008, -3/+18You're 46?
- johnomaz, on 09/15/2008, -0/+15sounds like small issues...welcome to a beta.
- sickrubik, on 09/15/2008, -1/+16YOU ARE NOT UP TO DATE
- flamyngo, on 09/15/2008, -3/+17Wives.... making it to 80 before our husbands :)
It's on. - Rikushix, on 09/15/2008, -0/+14Count yourself lucky there's no marriage vow that states "until death do us part, or a wipe on a high end raid, whatever comes first."
- Namco, on 09/15/2008, -2/+16What ads?
/mantra_of_a_adblock_plus_user - deviationer, on 09/15/2008, -1/+14From the starting areas, the green quest rewards are between lvl 70 blues and kara lvl epics.
- videogamedieter, on 09/15/2008, -0/+12and hammers
- Kakemonstere, on 09/15/2008, -1/+13What if you ninja loot an epic from your wife?
- Discobiscuits, on 09/15/2008, -0/+11The one to the right has a ***** boyfriend already. ***** THAT BITCH. Douche bag is stealing my game of slaphand.
- EnjoyTheFact, on 09/15/2008, -0/+10Pretty sure the NDA got lifted a while ago.
- MoralThreat, on 09/15/2008, -0/+10It's a good thing I just broke up with my girlfriend.
- BDuda66, on 09/15/2008, -4/+13This time "We are Prepared!"
- quill, on 09/15/2008, -0/+9Yeah, and it takes level 77+ blues to replace some of the more advanced epic gear.
Seems like good pacing to me. I'd be pissed if a new expansion came out and it DIDN'T improve my gear... - archer75, on 09/15/2008, -1/+10All the quests are focused on the stories, as they should be. You can skip them entirely and do the scenerios from level 1. Or the outdoor PvP which I did do.
Then there is the public quests.
And no matter what you do you are getting something. You get influence from public quests that you can use to buy stuff. Even if you don't finish the quest. If course if you do there are more rewards from that.
Then you have scenerio and world PvP quests that level both XP and renknown. Which can also be used to buy stuff. You can level entirely from PvP if you wish. Or entirely from PvE. Though most will do a mix of both. And warhammer does a great job of making it all seamless.
Don't forget the keep sieges with your guild. And battlekeep sieging. Once taken your guild banner will fly from the ramparts. Then there is city sieging. And don't forget the instanced dungeons and raids you are used to. There are also open world dungeons.
And every single thing you do contributes victory points to your realm so your faction can control it.
You can also level your guild unlocking new features. Don't forget guild halls. Oh, and you can level cities too opening up PvE content as well as additional features.
And there are flight paths in all the warcamps. Which would make it one per zone I believe.
So yeah, there isn't much to do in warhammer. - CabesMojo, on 09/15/2008, -0/+9Time to stock pile cheetohs, Mt. dew, and hot pockets.
- xcbxcb, on 09/15/2008, -2/+11I find the prospect of getting new gear exciting!
And I'm pretty sure it'll be like last time. My purps should last until 75 or so. But there's no reason that someone couldn't have leveled to 70 in full T3.
Who wants to wear the same gear forever, anyways? - mirrorkills, on 09/15/2008, -3/+12What does this mean?
That you just made an arse out of yourself, attempting to belittle those who play a game that you've "out grown" - harmil, on 09/15/2008, -0/+8I disagree with the sentiment that online games don't represent a social life. They are a very one-dimensional social life, but as "a part of this complete breakfast," they're a good element for the mix.
For the young, they provide team-related lessons in following/giving orders, compromise, establishing trust, etc.
For a more mature crowd, they provide interactions that can help to maintain long-term friendships, coordinate other social events (I've scheduled more than one movie/dinner outing using WoW), and make rainy days at home less shut-in feeling.
How is this not social? Are we so stuck in 1995 that we can't recognize online social activities? - boshuda, on 09/15/2008, -0/+8I'm not far behind him, 38, and eagerly awaiting the expansion
You do know that you don't have to be 15-21 to play games, right?
And before the insulting tirade begins, I have a job, a social life, a wife, and a pretty nice looking ass.
=) - TotalHalibut, on 09/15/2008, -2/+10It's not ready, they need to really get things moving by November, lest they run into exactly the same issue that had with TBC, that being anything past Karazhan was completely broken.
- VipeNess, on 09/15/2008, -10/+18omg! its coming out. great; another year of throwing my life away and losing my job to get to 80 and tiered out. wait a second; i don't play anymore.... what does this mean?
- vagrantwade, on 09/15/2008, -3/+11I don't think Blizzard is scared. It was rumored for a while to be coming out on November 11th, courtesy of gamestop.
And how discouraging are these games? I mean really, you put hours and money into this character to get to the top tier of the server gear wise, only to have an expansion come out, raise the level cap, and make the gear you spent so much time on completely worthless.
Maybe I am not enough of "one of those people" to understand why this is not so discouraging. Meh - getbusyliving, on 09/15/2008, -0/+8Beta to present WoW player here.. yeah man I totally agree with those points. Warhammer captures that old magic that WoW used to have four years ago. Its got incredible potential and it couldn't be more obvious Blizzard is very concerned about that.
- scumblz, on 09/15/2008, -0/+7That gives Warhammer two months to prove itself worthy of many people's time.
- mdaize, on 09/15/2008, -1/+8You are right... it is quite a poor concept... I still don't understand why they made the game revolve around equipment rather then skill like a couple others. In most cases, people with good equipment trump those with inferior equipment but greater skill....
- EnjoyTheFact, on 09/15/2008, -1/+8If you're T5/T6 level gear, you'll hold onto it for a while. The gear jump isn't like BC at all.
- Corneileus, on 09/15/2008, -1/+7Murlocs, man, you forgot the murlocs.
