- neomis, on 11/20/2007, -3/+34Native linux support. Yeah I'll be buying that tonight
- MasterPlayer, on 11/20/2007, -3/+33Welcome back UT, I've missed you.
- DarkDx, on 11/20/2007, -9/+36UT3 will allow you to connect a mouse + keyboard to the ps3 and play with that.
- xStainDx, on 11/20/2007, -3/+29Move along Halo, Unreal is back. :)
- shinythingy, on 11/20/2007, -9/+34do yourself a favor and let others have their opinion
- ArrakisDune, on 11/20/2007, -1/+21As long as they have sorted out the silly GUI from the demo, I can't wait :)
- andycr512, on 11/20/2007, -1/+17The Linux client AFAIK isn't done yet. Should be done soon.
- OutThisLife, on 11/20/2007, -0/+16I wish I could play UT3 competitively. I need a real graphics card first :(
- xTRUMANx, on 11/20/2007, -13/+27Furthermore, not all of us have high-end PCs to play today's high-end games.
- Shorties, on 11/20/2007, -4/+16Anyone know when the mac version is comming out? UT 2004 is the only game I play on my mac. (I installed Boot Camp just to play the UT3 demo).
- triplehelix, on 11/20/2007, -9/+20hopefully (and i think they may), they'll get this out for the ps3 before xmas.
- Durinthal, on 11/20/2007, -0/+10The menu looked like it was straight out of the console version, without all of the options that had been in the previous games. If nothing else, the modding community is going to have a field day making it the game they think it should be.
- booshack, on 11/20/2007, -1/+10The weapon balance in this game is astounding, and the map designs are just so awesome - both layouts and art. This is the kind of game that you can play every day for years and not get tired of, despite there being no lame tricks to get you hooked, like RPG grind (bf) or just the pointless but addictive aspect of having to wait a certain time for repawn if you die (many team games). It's just pure fun.
- AmishRefugee, on 11/20/2007, -0/+8metal case + DVD of extras including mapping/modding tutorials and videos of the game being made
I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan on using that extra DVD of stuff, but it is only a $10 difference - Synova, on 11/20/2007, -4/+12Bring back dodge-jump please. =(
- Bega, on 11/20/2007, -5/+12I didn't realize a 7800gt equivalent was *****. If so, apparently my pc has a ***** gpu too!
- felman87, on 11/20/2007, -3/+10I disagree, UT3 is a great FPS and releasing it in December for PS3 could prove to be beneficial, since games aren't typically released then. The only futuristic FPS on Ps3 are Resistance (out for a year) haze and ***** (which are average at best)
- DigeratiPrime, on 11/20/2007, -1/+8The final GUI is the same from the demo, barely anything added too. This was confirmed with the German release from 1 week ago. Epic has stated they will improve it in upcoming patches but not exactly how. Worst GUI ever.
- dark_helmet, on 11/20/2007, -2/+980% of PCs out there weren't built with playing games in mind. If game developers designed games for them, we'd probable see a severe lack of innovation.
- xerus, on 11/20/2007, -1/+7Epic should've just delayed the damn game to redo the entire UI. Its terrible. Its as if Epic has forgotten that they even made UT99 and UT2k4. (Forgetting UT2k3 is fine with me.)
- Hermmunster, on 11/20/2007, -1/+6UT2003/2004 both had a linux client. Is there a linux client for this game? If so, I'll buy it. Otherwise I'll relegate it to the desktops of those that don't care about quality.
- 9a3eedi, on 11/20/2007, -0/+5It's not avaliable now, but it's coming soon
- wilf_brim, on 11/20/2007, -1/+5Great news for the PC gamers. I miss UT. "BOOM HEADSHOT!"
- Lunarbunny, on 11/20/2007, -1/+5Watch the scaling; otherwise you might end up with this:
http://gearsforums.epicgames.com/showpost.php?p=25 ... - Veni_Vidi_Vici, on 11/20/2007, -0/+4Shewt, I bought it just for the big freaking metal case.
- Van3ck, on 11/20/2007, -0/+4Sorry to say, but Linux support is not available out of the box this time around... EPIC says they couldn't finish the Linux client in time, but it will be available online soon supposedly.
IMO, they really gave Linux users the shaft this time around. UT has always been available for Linux with every different game version. With UT3 though, they neglected Linux users with the demo, and now they are getting left behind with the retail version too... - SilverSnayke, on 11/20/2007, -0/+4ALSO, you get Unreal Tournament Anthology, which is every UT game for PC, up to UT3. And an 'exclusive' character model. At Gamestop, at least.
I know, I preordered it about an hour ago. Gamestop told me they were getting UT: Anthology in tomorrow morning with UT3, and they'd gotten confirmation to give out UT:A with preorders of UT3. Excellent, I say. - gmiley, on 11/20/2007, -0/+4I've always loved the UT series, I played the demo and thought it was wonderful, it did seem a little choppy at a few points, but hopefully they worked that out now that it's released. I don't think it was my system, I just built a new setup about a month ago with all top-of-the-line components.
- otakushark, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3Tried Fry's, Gamestop and even Walmart. No dice.
- Stevethegreat, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3I beg to differ. In fact I believe exactly the opposite. The most innovative games I have ever seen are PC-bound, consoles seem to stick to the same formula all the time, sure there are creative games here and there in consoles, too, but they're the exception, in fact the vast majority of console games are the same taboo games, I could hardly find 10 games to PS3 (the most successfull console to date) that differentiate from this trend (thanks to Ico, Okami and Shadow of the Collosus).
PCs on the other hand have the possibility of indie games sth that consoles painfully lack, companies in general prefer assured profits than anything innovative and risky, that's why you see Halo 3 to be the same as Halo 2 and Halo 1, sth for the masses. You obviously never played some of the traditional Adventure games on PC like Monkey Island with their wacky humor and imaginable gameworlds, nor legends of storytelling like Black Isle games, you also obviously do not know that there are games like Darwinia (recommended) that break loose from the traditional form of strategies. Not to speak about MMOs (another PC innovation) and FPS (which also originated on PCs and -still- the best are on PC).
I have no clue why you were dugg up, probably from gamers that played Okami and/or Shadow of the Colossus, but -sadly- these are the exceptions of the rule, consoles have proved time and time again that they drown innovation with their high propriety costs (any developer actually have to give money from their profits to the console maker, while -at the same time- they have to pay an extravagant price for the console's SDK to make the game). In fact consoles are to gaming what RIAA and MPAA are to music and the movies, an entity that CONTROLS innovation for their own profit.
I would like to have counter-arguments -please- from console supporters, because 'till now I have never encountered an irrefutable proof of consoles' superiority apart from their intrusive marketing. - evilesttoast, on 11/20/2007, -2/+5Dude, look at the first comment. That's gonna be you.
- skywake, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3I build a mid-low range PC in 2005 without much of a focus on graphics because that wasn't my intention at the time (A64 3000+, 1GB DDR, FX5200). I could probably run UT3 on it the minimum specs are that low. Obviously not competitively but assume that it will be enough to enjoy playing the game with some friends on the odd occasion. Now when can I run this on Linux?
- stoanhart, on 11/21/2007, -0/+3Oh yeah. We are so "shafted."
I think a small delay for a fan base that consists of at most 1% of their sales is perfectly fine. A linux clients is coming, and not long after the release. Stop your whining.
Also, I'm pretty sure there was a Linux demo too (not certain). - wangl3r, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4What does the collector's edition come with? All I know about collector's editions is my experience with Halo 2. I think I paid 10 more dollars for a big freakin metal case. All in all, I think I got a bargain.
- supertom, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3Yes!
- charlescheese, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4Uh, It's probably still going to be out by Christmas. I'm sure if they could have they'd have it out right now. It would sell very well if it were out now. Why would they want to wait for COD4, Orange Box, and Haze to be out to suck up potential Christmas sales?
- booshack, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4If you got a spare box standing around, don't forget to get the free windows dedicated server :

/shameless plug - mywhitenoise, on 11/20/2007, -1/+4After buying the Assassin's Creed limited edition set (this is the first time I've ever done this, because I was told the game would come with a walk-thru), and opening the huge tin box only to see a tiny figure of Altair and a DVD with pretty boring content, I've decided NEVER to buy a collectors set.
- ArrakisDune, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3It was out of the console versions. You could even read the info for the 360+PS3 versions in the .ini files. They should bring UWindows back!
- Snarfy, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3All the stores I went to said come back tomorrow. :( I guess the release date is 11/20 not 11/19.
- MrPowers, on 11/20/2007, -1/+3Loved UT2004. I preordered UT3 and cant wait for it to arrive at my door! Demo was a little disappointing but hopefully the full version will be as good as its predecessor.
- MrSteamTank, on 11/20/2007, -2/+4Whats wrong with using tigerdirect? Seriously I'd like to know considering I plan on buying my computer through there.
- puttly, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2Big metal case. Artwork book. Special features dvd
- saisumimen, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2Welcome back all you Head Hunters, Flak Monkeys, Dark Horses and Combo Whores!
- Zyphron, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2Not *****, but below entry level at this point. You can get an 8600GT for below 150 at this point.
- Biznack, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2I've heard a good thing or two about them, and nothing else please inform.
- hockey, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2UT2003 was the same way. The game came out and rocked but had a UI that looked like it came from an Atari 2600. UT2K4 came out and was basically the same game but had a real UI.
- Van3ck, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2The crappy GUI is exactly the same as from the demo.
Some game reviewers in Germany last week got the full version of Epic to review, and they posted a list of what has changed/remained the same from the demo... and the GUI was the first thing they mentioned.
There has also been a HUGE community response over this at the EPIC forums, and users are getting banned and posts deleted concerning the issue. - Lunarbunny, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2Oh, I'm quite aware, but that photoshopped picture (with comment) still makes me laugh (and if you're the same Caravaggio, thanks for the pic).
- BugMeNot2, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2My $100 7900GT plays the game at 1280x1024 maxed out at 40 to 60 FPS.
