- PsychoBrat, on 12/22/2007, -0/+34It still amazes me that a game like Urban Terror can still impress with its gameplay mechanics in a way many modern commercial games can't. The industry needs to learn a lesson from these successful mods: focus on the gameplay first, and figure out bling later.
- heartless_, on 12/22/2007, -4/+24***** Ron Paul spam.
- n0tj0sh, on 12/22/2007, -0/+15Man Minerva was better than 90% of the commercial games that come out. For anyone who has HL2 and hasn't played it yet go check it out http://www.hylobatidae.org/minerva/
- ghee, on 12/22/2007, -0/+15For some reason I read this as "Top 100 Models of 2007".
- borninda818, on 12/23/2007, -1/+15...you give Ron Paul supporters a bad name.
- inactive, on 12/23/2007, -0/+12Natural Selection!!
- Dundasbro, on 12/23/2007, -0/+9Agreed, there's a good reason why Starcraft is still such a popular game online after being out for a decade.
- Aquashark, on 12/22/2007, -0/+8go, go, go Warsow!
- dschep, on 12/23/2007, -0/+8It is.
- Toast1185, on 12/23/2007, -0/+7Not for some reason; for a reason, a very specific reason.
- lacronicus, on 12/23/2007, -0/+7Gmod is retail now, not really a mod anymore.
- Shootfast, on 12/23/2007, -0/+6Black Mesa!!
- inactive, on 12/23/2007, -0/+5Let's Go Beyond the Red Line!
i think BTRL can go all the way for indie games - NeoSporin, on 12/23/2007, -0/+5Its the third last one under Half Life 2...
- wrestlingnrj, on 12/23/2007, -0/+4Project Reality FTW!
http://www.realitymod.com - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+4Minerva is great, I played it like a year ago though so I haven't even touched the new chapter yet.
Dystopia is also an excellent HL2 multiplayer mod, but I have no idea why the developers just stopped dead in their tracks with the updates. Barely anybody plays it now because its so poorly supported. - spect3r, on 12/23/2007, -0/+3Minvera FTW!
- rz8472, on 12/23/2007, -0/+3Absolutely; lets also thank Volition for releasing the best space sim ever and the subsequent source code. And the SCP for exploiting that source code.
- detrux, on 12/23/2007, -0/+3Yarrr vote for BF Pirates 2!
- j1gs4w, on 12/27/2007, -0/+2I voted for Project Reality!
- sleeknerve, on 12/23/2007, -0/+2thers non skill based FPS gaming?, il have to check that out
- Gerfervonbob, on 12/23/2007, -0/+2No Mount & Blade?
http://www.taleworlds.com/ - AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2I'd love to see Empires get it this year instead of Source Forts or Black Mesa, because both have won previous years..
Empires is brand new, and it's absolutely astoundingly fun once you get around the rather high learning curve. - maggiemerc, on 12/23/2007, -0/+2Works just fine for me in Firefox on a Mac AND a PC.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -0/+2It doesn't play very well. :(
- xxbrighteyed, on 12/23/2007, -0/+2How good does Perfect Dark: Source look !
I've never gotten into mods before, but I'm downloading that as we speak, it looks better than most retail games - lordwow, on 12/23/2007, -0/+2The Stargate game looks cool. Though I can't understand what the hell the FAQs is saying.
http://www.moddb.com/games/10008/stargate-the-new- ... - Kitsun, on 12/23/2007, -0/+2Empires!
- KingGorilla, on 12/25/2007, -0/+1radio free zerg!
- AgentMull, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1I used to be a beta tester for Eternal Silence, so I'm rooting for them.
- Palmer586, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Warsow got my vote for cheering up many a LAN party
- MourningZoo, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Zombie panic sounds really cool...im installing the HL1 mod right now.
- Tophillious, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Man, I wish my pos computer could play half life 2 for those badass mods
- rz8472, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1What? No Freespace 2 mods after all that the Source Code Project did?
This is an outrage. - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+1What was so bad about v1?
Nuclear Dawn will be way better anyway -- If its actually released. - juicys, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1They're actually working on releasing 1.2... the developers decided to release big content updates sparsely rather than small updates.
Bad choice, IMO, but what are you gonna do? - Azerael, on 12/23/2007, -1/+2They screwed up V1 pretty bad, maybe they decided it's better not to screw the game up anymore...
- dadioflex, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Yes. "Mod Rocker" is an oxymoron.
- dadioflex, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Check under Indie Games for the BSG mod of FS2.
- Frostman3D, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1There was not enough Unreal engine love in that list.
- Checkerd, on 12/24/2007, -0/+1That was a joke, ha ha, FAT CHANCE!
Really though, I cant wait for that mod to come out. - styromaniac, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1There are a few who already realize the potential of mods. Offset Games is making Project Offset as mod friendly as possible.
- Mexicore, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1Empires FTW
- HolemCross, on 12/23/2007, -0/+1I'm surprised that "Mistake of Pythagoras" mod for HL2 wasn't there. It was pretty awesome, coming from the creator K.S. that did "Peaces Like Us" and "Sweet Half-Life."
- EnderllWiggen, on 12/24/2007, -0/+0Oh Black Mesa.. Will you ever see the light of day? Maybe its my anxiousness to play this mod that makes it seem so far away, but with no update for over 6 months, you begin to wonder....
- CakeVsPie, on 12/31/2007, -0/+0A lot of these look fun. I'm gonna have to try some of them out!
- thelawenforcer, on 12/23/2007, -1/+1if your into skill based, high adrenaline FPS gaming, warsow is the game for you :)
- mattbeetee, on 12/23/2007, -0/+0Am I the only person that thought this meant mod as in mod rocker?... I have brought shame upon my family.
- Kwipper, on 12/23/2007, -1/+1Woot!
