- thesoprano, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20Dugg for the list not being spread across 37 slow-loading pages.
- toMatto, on 10/10/2007, -3/+13It's an alright list, but there's a lot of the same games on there, just in different versions. Episode 1, Episode 2, or 'gold' editions of the same game, etc. I'd just like to see a bit more variation.
Also, where's Cave Story on the list? - Nn010385, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Good list, but it's missing Cave Story.
- BuddyDoQ, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Game is game is game, freeware or not. Regardless, Cave Story should be right near the top of any list such as this.
- wealleatpasta, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3*effect
- devindotcom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3This list...... is terrible.
- Kakkun, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5This guy's stuff should've been on the list
http://nifflas.ni2.se/ - Sirocco, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Gametunnel primarily covers commercial indie games, not freeware.
- HunterTV, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I think it's outside of the last-3-years mark but Gish was a fun indie platformer. Mac/PC IIRC.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3This list is pretty terrible (and has been continually mocked in the independent games community since release).
This is a slightly better list, but certainly not perfect: http://www.tigsource.com/features/games1-10.html - Nazgul11, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'll agree with Intoccabile...what were they thinking when they didn't include Mount&Blade?
- Intoccabile, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4What? No Mount&Blade? I don't know about this list!
http://www.taleworlds.com/ - TroubleInMind, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2/holds gun to head
- Elohir, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Without Uplink and Defcon the list is horribly wrong.
- Crono, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Wheres Defcon? I agree this list is crap. No Digg.
- jockser, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1No halo 3 ? no digg.
/end of retarded comment - actual, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1thanks for turning me onto cave story. i had never heard of it. definitely super fun. even though it wasnt on the list, still dugg because i had never even heard of most of these games and its good to support the little guys.
- marshmonkey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yea, it's a crime not to have Mount & Blade listed
- WillGabriel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I kind-of wish they listed the compatible operating systems under each entry. Would save you from having to check each website before learning whether or not you could play a game.
- PlayWithFire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I am digging it up just because it's a good way to do a list
100 items, all on one page. Thank you! - rzurad, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Sorry. No DEFCON, no Digg.
- protogenxl, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I liked #34 - Snapshot Adventures back when it was called Pokemon Snap!
- hockey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This site normally doesn't review free games. It's a site for independent game development with an emphasis on developers who make their living doing this.
- Sirocco, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Cave Story is good but overrated. I'd put it around the ~70 or so level in a top 100 list.
- firedrillduckie, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I haven't heard of 90% of these games.
- rehkcts, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Should have Eternal Daughter
- Tivor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm gonna digg this just because the guy wrote "without further ado" correctly.
I've seen way too many incorrect variations like "without further adieu", "without further a due", "without a do," etc, etc, etc. - OropheR, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Only purchasable games are listed here...No independant free games ?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Its a dupe. BAAARY.
- sneugol, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That list is much better, and agrees more with me, thanks.
- Jordan117, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1What, no Noctis? It was made by one guy, and it's still one of the greatest space-exploration sims I've ever encountered -- an evocative galaxy of 80 billion stars and trillions of unique planets and moons to wander on. Check out a full review here: http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/17541
- kingmob01, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Pretty cool list, although I don't agree with some choices
- th3heretic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Need Wurm online. www.wurmonline.com
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0but affect's funnier..
- slickhare, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Try rRootage: http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,64976/description.html?tk=nl_lg
It has a mode that's exactly like Ikaruga('s light/dark game mechanic) in fact. As well as some others emulating popular shmup series. - mookieXL, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1rRootage has IKA mode. There's also Exceed series which is something between ikaruga and Touhou.
- nephilimx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Im glad Battalion made the list, the browser baised clone of Advance Wars
- daguy33, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3duggmirror got it.
http://duggmirror.com/pc_games/Top_100_Independent_Games_2/ - shiftyeyedwolf, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Motorama? How can a crappy Elastomania clone be on the list, but not the original? And no Cave Story? These guys don't know what they're talking about, this list blows.
- Sarevok9, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Anyone know a good independent ikaruga or other shooter like game? i haven't been able to find one, esp not one of even moderate quality. free would be nice, but far from required.
- jj9000, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1How is the gameworld though?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Who cares 'bout gunbound? wher's Cave Story?
- potterboy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Dead.
- CtrlAltDel85, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I'm going to join the noise of people saying "What, why didn't ____ make this list!"
...
http://www.plasmapong.com - zzz@tkz, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2http://www.duggmirror.com/pc_games/Top_100_Independent_Games_2/
- idc5, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Is gunbound on that list? I didn't even get a chance to take a look at it.
- robotomeister, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0I bought #3 (Land of Legends) after I saw it in a game magazine and I would recommend it to anyone who's played (and enjoyed) Masters of Magic, Master of Orion, etc.
- GodofAtheism, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1If it doesn't have Cave Story then it's not a good list.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0yeah. no Cave story, no Digg.
- Yuska, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Stupid Digg affect. Anybody gotta mirror?
