- havok7920, on 06/17/2008, -7/+125This is just the demo version of the Spore Creature Creator, not the full one.

edit: nevermind about the last part :( - Borgcube636, on 06/17/2008, -8/+44While you're booing, I'm downloading.
- mattcoady, on 06/17/2008, -0/+33There's a lot of really funny ones out there.
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/2301 ... - spacebuddy, on 06/17/2008, -0/+32Here is the offical download.
http://www.spore.com/trial - ThetaDot, on 06/17/2008, -0/+28Why would they release a trial to what effectively is a demo/preview?
- slimthps, on 06/17/2008, -14/+39YEAH KEVIN CAN I SUCK YOUR WANG?
- Shawkab, on 06/17/2008, -1/+25This is the Demo, spore.com has this now.
- xBBx, on 06/17/2008, -6/+27I'd hate to be one of those people that supply external links, but just in case the speed of the downloads slow down when this hits frontpage, here are some mirror links:
PC - http://tinyurl.com/6od8wp
MAC - http://tinyurl.com/5njplf - ap44, on 06/17/2008, -0/+20Yeah it costs money and comes out this week. It better be cheap but then again, it's EA.
- dozerl, on 06/17/2008, -1/+21You forgot Wine 1.0 release.
- ThetaDot, on 06/17/2008, -0/+19Wow... won't it eventually come with the game anyway?
- ElectricKetchup, on 06/17/2008, -6/+23Where's the Ubuntu version?
- vclortho, on 06/17/2008, -3/+20This is the first time I'm not too late for the Kevin Rose circle jerk!
- tommyhat, on 06/17/2008, -0/+16The best part is you can take the PNG pic of your creature from my spore creations/creatures and send it to someone so they can put it in their creature dir and they load up the CC and they have full editable control of that creature. All the data is stored in a tiny image file! Good code makes me happy.
- Necoras, on 06/17/2008, -2/+17In Spore you will have the option to step into the game at any point. Thus, you can use a creature you created here and start them out at the creature phase, city phase, civ or space phase. The whole game is indeed from a single celled organism up to space faring. Maxis is allowing you to pick whichever phase you like best and play straight from there. This is the creature creation tool.
- inactive, on 06/17/2008, -5/+20Someone already made a goatse spore creature. I'm going to try tubgirl. Thanks dark tipper.
- ekai, on 06/17/2008, -0/+15Mac version requires Leopard (10.5.3).
- FDL1, on 06/17/2008, -1/+15But you get the amount deducted from the final game (according to yesterday's UK release). Although EA will only keep a download link for six months unless you pay them $6 more.
EA... paying to do what Steam does for free. - Tanktunker, on 06/17/2008, -1/+15This is what's wrong with EA's direct download system, if you can get better service by pirating the game, what incentive do you have to buy it?
- unorthodoxor, on 06/17/2008, -4/+18LOL
- Workster, on 06/17/2008, -2/+15I think because the entire Creature Creator cost money.
- MixMastaKooz, on 06/17/2008, -3/+15How does the creature creator figure in Spore? Is it just a tease or could you use your creature when the full game is release?
I thought the whole idea behind spore was that you started out as a very simple form of life, a spore, and evolve into a galactic civilization.... - THES0URCE, on 06/17/2008, -0/+12Why does Radioshack ask for your phone number when you buy batteries? I dont know.
- Tyrghast, on 06/17/2008, -1/+13It's about whatever the ***** they make it about. It's going to be an interesting, fun game. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
- UpSetMartin, on 06/17/2008, -0/+11or use the up and down arrows.
- Sakumi, on 06/17/2008, -1/+12I was able to download this off www.spore.com/trial/ about 3 hours ago *shrug* I guess Kevin should have had this dugg up when he posted it 12 hours ago >
- rgov, on 06/17/2008, -2/+13No, http://eu.llnet.cdn.ea.com/u/f/eagames/spore/scc/s ... is the direct download link.
- Rizzen, on 06/17/2008, -1/+11a computer
- xBBx, on 06/17/2008, -2/+12The full creator is only available through retail or if you purchase it online. This obviously is only the demo.
- sw1val, on 06/17/2008, -1/+11I'm all about the free demos......... but why would EA punish the people who want to purchase the creature creator by making them wait another day?
It costs 9.99 and comes out Tomorrow June 18th - Petrie, on 06/17/2008, -30/+39Not the full creator. Buried as old/inaccurate.
- cgruber, on 06/17/2008, -1/+10If you can't tell the difference between spore and sim earth then you are the one that fails sir.
- etx313, on 06/17/2008, -2/+11Check out the ball on my little guy!! http://www.spore.com/view/postcard/500000392292
- enicholas, on 06/17/2008, -0/+9If it's a MacBook, you can simulate a mouse wheel by dragging with two fingers. At least I know that works in other programs that "require" a scroll wheel.
- sark666, on 06/17/2008, -1/+10So whats' the difference feature wise of the demo vs the full creature creator?
- smoothmann, on 06/17/2008, -14/+23Buried for fail
- EvilFerret, on 06/17/2008, -0/+9$10 with $5 going towards the full game. I doubt too many people will buy the creature creator without planning on buying Spore in the first place, so $5 for a sneak peak isn't bad.
- aladrin, on 06/17/2008, -0/+9Demo is 25% of the parts and fairly limited about them. Like, there's only Carnivorous mouths.
- Conrey, on 06/17/2008, -0/+8that is ***** hilarious
- crazzy88ss, on 06/17/2008, -1/+9I just installed the OSX version...
- alcimedes, on 06/17/2008, -2/+10Get a real mouse?
Seriously, they're like $10 for a mouse with a scroll wheel. - evilregis, on 06/17/2008, -0/+8During the game you will be encountering other life forms. These other life forms are creatures created by other users using this editor.
- Harabeck, on 06/17/2008, -1/+9Yes, but to be able to play around with all the options open, you have to progress through a signifigant portion of the game. Otherwise, you have to spend dna points earned during gameply.
So its just like what EA does all the time, sell a part of the game that will be unlocked for free later. - b-dizzle, on 06/17/2008, -0/+7I think its $10 bucks, but they let you put some of that money towards purchase of the final game...
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -8/+15Got it for Mac.
- Kornstalx, on 06/17/2008, -0/+7Wow, I didn't even know that... you can also use Alt+Enter run the game windowed mode, and drag the PNGs directly into the game.
Amazing! -
