Play Left 4 Dead on Team Fortress 2 Maps! watch!

kotaku.com — Not much of a surprise this is a possibility, the two games do use the same game after all. But Left 4 Dead hasn't even launched and someone's already modding it (probably the demo, anyway.) Here's nine minutes — reloading! — of Left 4 Dead gunplay on TF2's Dustbowl map (slightly customized). Warning: loud volume.

    But yes you are loosing out on the awesome community maps.
    Also the maps valve makes will have lots of replay ability. I have logged 30 hours on the 1.5 map demo.

  • GawtMilk, on 11/17/2008, -4/+20Nice story, badwithcomputer. For those of you who want to try this yourself, here's a link to the guide on how to play these "custom" maps in L4D. A note for you guys though; L4D doesn't support water. Touch water and you just fall to your death.

  • bossm4n, on 11/17/2008, -0/+13I think the AI is incredible for starters. Second, you MUST play as a team. Try to go all Rambo, and as soon as a Smoker or Hunter grabs you, you're done. Even playing the demo, you can tell what a great job Valve did on balance. I love the weapons, aiming, power, etc, especially the double pistols and auto shotgun. Again, only having played the demo, IMHO I think this is one of the best shooters I've played in the last 5 years. I expect the storyline to be good as well. And since this is Valve and the HL2 engine, the game scales extremely well.

    And if you have any friends that are willing to try this out, it's even more fun. Nothing better than 3 other people you know working as a team on expert mode. One of the funnest experiences you can get from a video game.

    that's not entirely true (ms DOES do some free content), but i'm sure any add-ons for Left 4 Dead will cost money.

  • BlaenkDenum, on 11/17/2008, -1/+6Axl's TF2 Server [ 216.6.232.168:27015 ] has a nice custom map created by Axl himself called zf_dustbowl, it uses the zombie fortress mod. Obviously it's not Left 4 Dead action but it's still really fun and might give you an idea of what it might be like to play dustbowl with zombies. As most of you know, Dustbowl is split up into three separate 'mini maps' which are played back to back, but zf_dustbowl joins them all together. It's really fun :)
