- paidhima, on 08/10/2008, -0/+20You can view the graphics in comparison. Just install HL2. The engine for HL2 is the same one it has had all along. The upgrades they made were in the newer episodes. Episode 1 had a number of engine updates, including several cosmetic - mainly in the areas of facial structure and animation and lighting. Episode 2 looks markedly different from the original HL2 engine. You can really see the evolution of the engine.
