- rabidmonkey1, on 10/10/2007, -2/+109When it comes out, I'm going to make a Strip-ed Blue Rhinosaucerous, and it will move by hundreds of thousands of tiny feet and have a pink afro. And laser vision.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+105At this point, EA is spending the next several months paying attention to feedback from players..
thats a first - DonSlice, on 10/10/2007, -1/+70This only makes me want the game more.
- TheBlackNinja, on 10/10/2007, -2/+68Give us a ***** demo!
- collareddrifter, on 10/10/2007, -2/+63I just spored in my pants.
- fragsta, on 10/31/2007, -5/+65Hands up everyone who wants to make a human-shaped creature just to see what the mating ritual is?
- SpongeBad, on 10/10/2007, -0/+51That's Will Wright, not EA.
- zjordan04, on 10/10/2007, -3/+33oh ***** oh ***** oh ***** oh *****
- kriminalintent, on 10/10/2007, -0/+29feedback from players? send it here then.
- cannibaljp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+26I'm amazed at just how badly i want this game... i'm very nervous that it won't be able to meet my expectations.
- Soave, on 10/10/2007, -2/+272 more years now for beta testing, right?
- thefirelane, on 10/10/2007, -2/+27Yes, but I think the question is... which year?
- zacharythomas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24Designing a completely new, technology bending concept takes time. Much more time than your average "MY GRAFIX IZ GOODER TAN UR GRAFIX" FPS rehash. If you consider that a feature complete game engine for one of those is a several year project, it makes sense that something completely different would take a long time. Besides, they said up front that this was going to take a while. I prefer my games done right.
- mishsquish, on 10/10/2007, -11/+33Wow, has it been a wait, or what? Duke Nukem all over again, except we're seeing the results. Woop!
- det0r, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17This game looks amazing. It's definitely going to be one of the best games of the year, even amongst all of the awesome titles coming out.
- NinjaBoy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16Im totally making me a HipHopOpotomus
- NikoKun, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15*drool* this game is going to be freaking awesome!
oh great... now I gotta go on a Spore obsessed all night spore-information-athon...
Now if only they don't take forever to release it... =/ - Soave, on 10/10/2007, -3/+16We know. We've known for about 5 years.
Sigh. :/ - Zaggynl, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14This game sounds awesome to play, but ridiculously hard to develop, so much variables! Can't wait to get my hands on it.
- t0ny, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14And he like screwing with us.
- Mrstupid7, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13I'm making a ***** rhymenoceros, not cuz he's fat or because he has birds on his back but because he's horny, he's HORNY.
- aresgunther, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12your grammar is disappointing.
- TheTimmeh, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13There IS a god!
- MacEnvy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10*looks to his right at the Ubuntu box on desktop*
Sweet, it's already here then! - NSMike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Holy and Crap? Those have been around for a while.
- stklaw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8With a goatee?
- waz67, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I'm going to make a Hiphopopotamus and a Rhymenoceros.
- Evil-Dragon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7EA wants feedback from gamers? Pfft! It's hardly enough coverage to get feedback from gamers just in games conferences. Send out a demo and we'll tell you what we think...
- zengonzo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Why? They seem to be doing a good job (for once) of hanging back and letting Wright take his time to make it a great game.
I think they want to have something to showcase as a real quality game to improve their reputation .. Sort of like how every now and then a movie studio invests in an Oscar-contender. - SenatorPenguin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I doubt it. It sounds like it is nearing the end of it's beta phase, and it just needs more thorough testing. In a game where everything changes drastically based on the player's creativity, it needs a ton of testing to make sure that all 7-legged creatures don't fall through the ground and such.
- Gizza, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I'm pretty sure they've already said they do have that. Each creature you find becomes a trading card which you can then view. I believe that the DS version of Spore will be a trading card type game.
- juicebag, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6You don't buy a game like Spore for the graphics. Also, Wright has said that intended to make it with similar system requirements to Sims 2 so people wouldn't need a gaming computer to play it.
- Mrstupid7, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7The DS has a juggernaut of a CPU
- omnithought, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6...and his name is Will Wright.
- Anthracene, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Sporemon??? uhmmm....
- robshoy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7For a second there, I was almost positive that this game would never be complete. Glad to hear the news.
- misterdiggles, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4"Spore is Finished" and "Spore is not ready to ship" ? Totally lame. When it is ready to ship, then it will be finished. Buried as inaccurate.
- Mrstupid7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4You like bugs, don't you? It's idiots like you who cause the terrible quality in games. But oh, they could release a patch isn't an excuse for shoddy programming.
- Anthracene, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Give it burnsides.
- Xinex, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Inside word has it that the game is basically finished, but apparently not "fun," whatever that means. So now it's on the backburner while it's developed for other platforms, I think.
- gommle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4your grammar are disappointing
- omnithought, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This anticipation is the gaming equivalent of blue balls.
- Anthracene, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Character editor??? Kinda kills the point don't ya think?
- spb88, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7Coming from someone who used to play a lot of games, but isn't particularly interested anymore, this game looks great! I don't get a lot of time anymore these days, and my PC isn't that great, and this looks like something both my family, girlfriend and I can all sit down and enjoy in little sessions. Great write up, I'm exited for Spore now! For anyone semi interested go to YouTube and look it up, the videos look great.
- spb88, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5I saw that clip when it first came out. Has it really been 5 years? Unbelievable.
- troydoogle7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Every game I have wanted as much as this has been a huge let down....eg moo3, "the movies", civ3. except maybe Civ4. I am going to assume that this game gets too repetitive and is boring. Then I have an outside hope to be pleasantly surprised (sort of like with the bourne movies)
- sethworld, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5I WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME
- Prathik89, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Ah, but the cool thing is, I don't really care much about "engrossing game play" I'm happy as how it is, but spore would DEFINITELY have a sequel.
Just imagine the possibilities! - ricree, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It doesn't matter how long a game takes to come out. If it is really an excellent game, the wait will quickly be forgotten. Just look at Half Life 2.
However, all it takes to kill off a franchise is to release a buggy game before it is ready. - 68024, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I think it would be much more fun to just encounter creatures as you go and find out by interacting with them what the deal is, instead of being able to preview. That'd take part of the fun from the 'exploring' aspect away from the game.
