- cyberdash, on 02/28/2009, -3/+85It's where girl gamers used to go to avoid Testosterone. Good luck doing that now.
- nibster, on 03/01/2009, -3/+62I prefer girls in real life (and just to avoid a digg reply) whenever I can afford them.

- Kenelm, on 03/01/2009, -1/+56Their secret hiding place has been compromised. I just bought the game.
- ecchi, on 03/01/2009, -0/+49"This story sponsored by, EverQuest II"
- allothersnsused, on 03/01/2009, -1/+34This completely changed my outlook on RPG players. Now, instead of an overweight, solitary male, I think of a delusional, overweight, solitary male who believes that the girl he's playing against might actually be a woman.
- Koppie, on 03/01/2009, -2/+32It's true. Girls don't actually exist.
- groo68, on 03/01/2009, -0/+29I've seen a street sweeper, but a guy was driving it.
- Ellrick, on 03/01/2009, -1/+26More leaked "we got girls!!!" propaganda from SOE.
Quit falling for it, 90% of that 40% have dicks bigger than yours. - lonehunter01, on 03/01/2009, -0/+18It's just a game, man.
- ReadTheArticle, on 03/01/2009, -1/+19They are a urban legend, like street sweepers. I've never seen one. Have you?
- Frozo, on 03/01/2009, -0/+16Wait, there's testosterone in MORPGS?
- PearlJammzz, on 03/01/2009, -1/+15I haven't played EQ2 for some time, but there were lots of girls that played. I'd say a good ~20% of our guild was female. Some of them were married, some not. I never played WoW enough to see how that was (only hit level 45 and then quit), but so far EQ2 has really had the most amount of females that I've seen.
Keep in mind, females != attractive females! - inactive, on 03/01/2009, -1/+14Yeah two of my aunts play EQ2 (and one of them play Guild War for some reasons)
And I am not talking about the kind of sexy aunts that you see in teen flicks, I'm talking about the sagging, chain smoking, ignored by their own husband, like the trill of younger man aunts.
So yeah, EQ can keep his "females". - mirunit, on 03/01/2009, -1/+14I don't quite understand why this is even such special news. 50% of humanity is female. I could care less who I am playing with as long as they aren't garbage. Also, there is no way to even confirm these statistics.
- naldwell, on 03/01/2009, -0/+12Jaded much?
- piesforyou, on 03/01/2009, -0/+12The phrase you're looking for is "I couldn't care less".
- Starshope, on 03/01/2009, -1/+13That went down fast...Mirror?
- Janv1er, on 03/01/2009, -1/+13"According to a new study, women make up 40% of the population of EverQuest II".
'A new study' says so, so it must be true.. - DarkLance, on 03/01/2009, -0/+11not hard when there are 15 people playing the game, including the sole remaining programmer and his wife and 3 daughters.
- raydeen, on 03/01/2009, -1/+12So how are Patty and Selma?
- Llanowar, on 03/01/2009, -0/+11Well, who doesn't want a girl with a bigger dick than your own?
- Zarimus, on 03/01/2009, -0/+10When I played EQ2, generally a quarter of the guild I was in were female. We used to joke about how you could spot a mangina (guy playing a girl character) because they would refuse to go on Teamspeak and out themselves. Not that anyone cared, lots of guys played female characters, we just poked fun at the ones who tried to hide it.
- passedoutghost, on 03/02/2009, -0/+10MMORPG: Many Men Online Role Playing Girls
- hatdrop, on 03/01/2009, -1/+11i bet they got their data by asking players: asl?
should be more like: men who claim to be women make up 40% of the population of EQ2 - decker12, on 03/01/2009, -2/+11Who the ***** still plays Everquest II ?
- Akairenn, on 03/01/2009, -1/+9EQ2? SoE is still trying to insist the game isn't dead?
Hardly news, and hardly restricted to EQ2, however. Various MUDs I've played had high percentage of female players. My EQ1 guild was nearly half female. My DAoC guild had a majority of women. My WAR guild had quite a few women. About the only MMOG I've played that didn't have a large percentage of female players has been EVE. (And yet there's a group of all-female pirates flying about out there, ganking snivelling male carebears.)
Protip: Girls play games. *gasp* I know this must be shocking for those of you who have never seen a boob outside of .jpg and .png images, but it's quite true. - Psynaut00, on 03/01/2009, -0/+8There actually are quite a few women playing EQ2. Either that or voice altering software is more popular than I think it is. I have never been on a raid, even a pick up raid, that didn't have at least a couple women; sometimes quite a few. My groups routinely have a woman in them. That said, 40% sounds high.
- InfernoX, on 03/01/2009, -2/+10Yeah well I JUST LOST THE GAME.
- lepetitmousse, on 03/01/2009, -2/+10not anymore, they dont.
- inactive, on 03/01/2009, -0/+7You two are both wrong.
- LittleDas, on 03/01/2009, -0/+7okay nick
- Elranzer, on 03/02/2009, -0/+7Ah, the Internet... where the men are men, the women are men, and the children are cops.
- Vodd9, on 03/01/2009, -1/+7http://rorr.im
(Brilliant URL name btw) - jstem1994, on 03/01/2009, -0/+6...er than Paris Hilton. (It's all I've got today, sorry)
- raydeen, on 03/01/2009, -1/+7So they've got 4 now?
- mysticalone, on 03/01/2009, -1/+6i like the thumbnail
- TheCatsProxy, on 03/01/2009, -0/+5Wow. Who cares if they're a girl? Who cares if they're hot or ugly or fat or actually a man? Who cares about why they play? Maybe they just want to enjoy the game like everyone else.
I can't believe we are still talking about this issue. - ReadTheArticle, on 03/01/2009, -0/+5I hear that if you beat the Velious raid there is a chance that balls will drop.
- Yez70, on 03/01/2009, -0/+5While I have a similar experience in SWG, where about 20-25% of our guild is female, I could care less what they look like. I'm glad they're part of the game, they add a lot of personality to the experience. It's also helps us keep the asshats in the game counterbalanced and gives us reason to keep the same jerks out of our guild. It helps us to recruit women too, as we base our guild rules on one thing - respect. Many of the women are incredibly good players and assets to the guild as well.
Ending your comment focusing on the attractiveness of the women isn't helping the situation any. Until more of us guys start acting a bit more mature and focusing on the person rather than their sexiness - this trend will not improve in the online gaming world. - NeonGod, on 03/01/2009, -1/+6Big surprise there...site is down.
- foltaggio, on 03/01/2009, -0/+5***** you, I lost.
- Rudegar, on 03/01/2009, -0/+4is EQ2 still running?
guess girls avoid testosterone by playing an empty game
but would be cheaper to play an offline really - kelpee, on 03/01/2009, -1/+5I am a gamer, I've played many MMO's and have always had to play with almost all males. I started playing Warhammer this fall and I'm still shocked at how many women play. It's a nice change. Women seem to be able to play the game and have fun without theory crafting the crap out of it.
- dpbBryan, on 03/01/2009, -0/+4Actually when I played there were a huge amount of female players. But, most of them were wives of the husbands that played also.
A multiplayer game isn't an ideal place to pick up girls either, so not that this matters. - BxBoy, on 03/01/2009, -0/+4Only when the majority of them hits puberty.
- RavagesOfTime, on 03/01/2009, -0/+4Who is seriously still falling for this?
- lllslinklll, on 03/01/2009, -0/+4Sounds about right. I've been playing Eq2 for the past 3 years and I'd say about 20 - 30% of our guild is female. And as the article says, most of them are husband/wife combinations.
http://www.wegame.com/users/Warren/ for those who want audio/video proof they do exist. lol. - ernasty10050, on 03/01/2009, -1/+5So is EQ2 any good?
