- ocharry, on 07/01/2008, -1/+66Whiny developers like Crytek and Epic should be more like Valve and Blizzard and just make great games.
- atreusk, on 07/01/2008, -5/+40no! some others have been dugged. This is merely a duplicate.
- WanderingGuru, on 07/02/2008, -7/+40Buried for a Gamespot article. I refuse to help send any more users to their site to pay for advertising so those advertisers can then pay for good reviews.
In short... ***** Gamespot! - inactive, on 07/01/2008, -2/+25Secret Deckard Cain level. Thousands of Deckard Cains holding halberds saying "Stay a while, and listen" when you hit them.
- Frozenfuryblade, on 06/30/2008, -3/+23Whoa... That last boss... was just a run of the mill mob? This game is really exciting me now.
- nc60659, on 07/01/2008, -1/+16SPOILERS: Deckard Cain is secretly the prime evil of the prime evils. Think about it: he's immortal, no one can lay a finger on him, and he can make anyone stay a while and listen. There will be no secret cow level in Diablo III; there will be your character facing off against Deckard Cain.
- whyufail, on 07/02/2008, -1/+16This is the same ***** we've all seen days ago. Some "first look." Buried as inaccurate. Besides, its gamespot...
- Jeepy, on 07/02/2008, -1/+14Dugg but....this is the same exact footage that two other stories had that were both FP'd. Just Saying.
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -0/+12Think sex... but with both hands this time.
- inactive, on 07/02/2008, -1/+11I think Crytek's whining over piracy is just a cover-up for a sub-average game. No, it's not a terrible game IMO - it's just a bit ahead of it's time in terms of performance and has some design issues, but I think the Stardock guys behind Sins of a Solar Empire put it best... (paraphrase) "Stop whining about piracy and focus on paying customers."
Also, Valve is amazing, I don't feel Blizzard as much as some people but they still make great games. More PC game developers need to learn from them. - inactive, on 07/01/2008, -1/+11I'm so glad that Blizzard are taking the time and effort to make this game. I hope we find out more about the lore too, like what happened to Tyrael (Who I think is now possessed by Baal/Diablo/Whoever) and how the flying ***** Deckard Cain is STILL alive. -_-
- inactive, on 07/01/2008, -4/+13I've never played Diablo. Is it good?
;) - bigp3rm, on 07/01/2008, -3/+11I want to play it now! I have been talking about this game for years. Blizzard had dropped a few small hints. People laughed at me and threw rotten tomatoes at me. But I was right!
Check out this vid with Rob Parto. http://www.gamespot.com/video/930659/6193139/diabl ...
He says they started over 3 times to get the right direction. That's why it took so long for the announcement.
I bet they are revealed now that it's out in the open. - metaboman, on 07/02/2008, -0/+7http://blizzard.com/diablo3 has a very long gameplay video and it's straight from the source.
- drimsun, on 07/02/2008, -0/+6If you want to see the live Diablo 3 announcement with all the nerdgasms check this vid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEqO0AjbGsU - xenoc1de, on 07/02/2008, -2/+8First look at four days ago!
- Pake, on 07/02/2008, -1/+7Exactly with what I was thinking. This article is about 4 articles too late on what it talks about.
- Chicken, on 07/02/2008, -1/+6To be honest, if a game as great as Diablo III is advertised. Pirating does not even come into my mind. My first thought is to buy it.. I don't know why but it just seems more normal to buy epic games.
- hektur, on 07/02/2008, -5/+10You never played Diablo? You poor soul!
- Titan615, on 07/02/2008, -0/+5It'll never happen, Blizzard is purely a PC game manufacturer, and they have announced that they have no intentions of porting their games to console. Sorry mate. Go buy a PC.
- Tyrghast, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4 "The Witch Doctor is not all about walls of zombies, honest."
FIXED: The Witch Doctor is all about walls of zombies, duh.
with that said, this game is going to be so much fun, ***** all you 'cartoonish blah blah blah' people. Have a little understanding and faith, Blizzard knows what they do well and this game is going to be anything but sub-par. - chaos7, on 07/02/2008, -2/+6i would digg this if it wasn't at gamespot. their reviews can't be trusted.
- OpCzar, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4Yeah, I thought Digg was supposed to be boycotting gamespot.
Unfortunately, people forget quickly and business will be back as usual.
0mgZ Exclusive Preview! - bejayel, on 07/02/2008, -1/+5THIS GAME IS GOING TO ***** RULE. I am going to have to bank a few sick days and save vaciation time i think!
- Rhendal, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4Deckard Cain, Lord of Identification?
- ridercologne, on 07/02/2008, -0/+4Well you gotta pay for it if you plan to populate TEH BATTLE.NET!
- juicyjames, on 07/02/2008, -1/+4Very true. Take a look at this article for instance.
http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/36952/The-Orange ...
Valve's The Orange Box was on both PC and consoles, but sold "at least a two-digit percentage" better on PC. Sure, you have to factor in retail, downloads, individual game sales, and a slight delayed release on PS3, but if piracy was the sole reason for PC games not selling well these days this should not have been the case. It really sounds like some companies want a scapegoat for poor sales. - DerFlash, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3my friends and i always thought deckard cain would be one of the final bosses. he would grow huge and chase you while shouting all his catch-phrases with little death-things added on the end. i.e. "stay a while, and listen...while i KILL YOU!" "Good day...for YOU TO DIE!!!!" etc etc
- NinjaNato, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3Great question. The answer, WebMarshal.
ca is about the only English version of Youtube left that will make it past Web Marshal, a pesky web filter that stands between me and unrestricted Internet access.
Boss, if you're reading this.. Please don't revoke my access to DIGG! - Weirdblastoise, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3"Over 3 times"
I'm willing to bet the number was 4. - kerosion, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3It's a mini-boss at the end of the gameplay video. This is referenced in "Everything we know so far": http://digg.com/pc_games/Diablo_3_Everything_We_Kn ... , originally coming from one of the design interviews offered at WWI.
- Chan815, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3yeah when blizzard north left
- bejayel, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3From the diablo 3 faq.
When will Diablo III be released?
It's too early to estimate Diablo III's release date. As with all Blizzard Entertainment games, our goal is to create a game that is as fun, balanced, and polished as possible. We intend to take as much time developing Diablo III as is necessary to ensure the game meets our own high expectations and those of our players.
This is how all games should be. So many games would benefit if they just stopped making such stupid release dates - ICasualty, on 07/02/2008, -2/+5FYI it was announced a few days ago...
- hulez, on 07/02/2008, -0/+3So heres this Giant Enemy Barbarian, we're gonna hit its weak point FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE!!!!
- DiggityDugged, on 07/02/2008, -2/+5lol, gamespot failed on being expedient, as did digg front page. there were dozens of high res video diggs long before gamespot's.
- bejayel, on 07/02/2008, -1/+4Didnt they lose most of the diablo team at one point as well? Everyone thought diablo was done for
- bejayel, on 07/02/2008, -2/+4I know lots of peolpe that dont like it, but more who love it. If you like hack and slash games with a more active gameplay system than that of WoW, Diablo is amazing. WoW is probably good to, but i found the combat slow and boring when compared to that of diablo.
- DforSpiD, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3Particularly if you get all of the history from Diablo 1
- fuckingusername, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2dear Blizzard some say the world will end by 2012 .
please release this and Starcraft ASP! - bosssmiley, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Blizzard, hire this man!
- Lanlost, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2I started a paid subscription to Gamespot in .. geez, like 2000, and got rid of the card less than two years later. Somehow, I still get all of the paid features even though no card information exists or anything. Regardless, I get every feature and I'm not paying for it and I've checked with the bank and NO ONE has the number I used, at all.
Oh and .. I won't be revealing my user name on Gamespot for obvious reasons (It's not Lanlost) - breezytrees, on 07/02/2008, -1/+3I know, dammit, and still I digg! I can't help it. :-(*
I want to, like, sex it.. or something. I don't know. I'm confused/ - paidhima, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2Well, that's not entirely true. Both Starcraft and the original Diablo were ported to consoles: Starcraft to N64 and Diablo to PS1. Diablo was a more successful port, in terms of game quality, but Starcraft was surprisingly playable.
I do agree though; don't expect a console port of D3. - DenTPuzz, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2I liked Diablo + Diablo 2, even though it was pillaged by cheaters!
- IpwnZnoobs, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2its a pretty unique game, its one of the most addicting too.
- YourDoom123, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2LOL the steam dependency was cracked in like a week...
- Dustmuffins, on 07/02/2008, -1/+2Completely random question here, but why use the Canadian site (ca.youtube.com) over the Global site? (www.youtube.com)
- kerosion, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Back when Diablo II was in development one of the features planned was Guild Support on Battle.Net. This was to include Guild Houses with Storage features that could be accessed by guild members by logging into a specific type of game. While we're many years past the scrapping of this idea, given that number of players in a game is taking the back seat to how many players is best for gameplay, I'd love to see the Guild Support idea come back for D3.
