- Nantel, on 08/13/2008, -0/+380Check the video (if you're not squeamish), the officials obviously expect something like this to happen sometimes. After just a few seconds, a half-dozen volunteers used large panels to hide the injured athlete from the crowd and cameras.

Whoever wrote that must not have seen the pictures...... - ManHammer, on 08/13/2008, -12/+323walk it off man....
- Braeden, on 08/13/2008, -8/+279Unfortunately applicable: Oh snap!
- joshefosho, on 08/13/2008, -7/+265Ffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkk
- luke374, on 08/13/2008, -0/+178Ha oh god that's horrible, but I couldn't help but laugh at how they keep saying "Ok lets not show that again" while it replays like 6 times.
- bbjohnnyt, on 08/13/2008, -1/+176I hope I wasn't the only one squirming in my chair.
- coderukus, on 08/13/2008, -1/+162From the commentator:
"Basically, that lift had to be let go but the lifter simply refused to allow himself to miss and held on to the weight too long. The bar shifted backward over the hips too far and the elbow gave." - Threlly1, on 08/13/2008, -0/+135I did this in a fall a few years ago.
Indescribable pain.
6 months of physio-therapy has regained about 90% of extension,
I noticeably cannot straighten my arm.
He's got a long long journey ahead of him, poor guy. - ivosilva, on 08/13/2008, -1/+127I don't know, who's with you on that chair?
- PDF84, on 08/13/2008, -4/+117DAMN!!
Nothing to get bent out of shape over. - Antixian, on 08/13/2008, -1/+99from the crowd you here someone scream "walk it off marty!"
- billsfan80, on 08/13/2008, -0/+96Rub some dirt on it....
- Mononuclear, on 08/13/2008, -0/+90wait... you puke *****? Or did you just puke and then take a dump on your keyboard after?
- jd33, on 08/13/2008, -4/+90I also broke my femur while dropping into a snatch.
- LeonHRodriguez, on 08/13/2008, -0/+86This kind of injury is actually fairly common in Weightlifting, especially at the higher levels of competition.
I went to the World Weightlifting Championships in 2003 (held in Vancouver, Canada) and there were several instances of injuries like this.
One lady from Thailand actually had her Femur break while dropping into a snatch. The sound of her bone snapping and her screaming unnerved everyone in the arena, especially the other lifters in her weight class. The lady who was set to lift after her had to take a miss on her lift because she'd completely lost her focus. - Albear89, on 08/13/2008, -1/+76Spray some Windex on it.
- toekneebullard, on 08/13/2008, -1/+66Popping back into place has to happen eventually, but the issue is the fact that his elbow will never be the same. Ligaments tear, bones will have grooves carved into them, and basically his elbow will forever be ready to pop if provoked too much. There's are surgeries that can help, but it will never be 100% again. And you something like 8 times more likely to have it happen again after the first time.
- hsoj, on 08/13/2008, -1/+60How did you dislocate your pinkie? Tealifting?
- retzed, on 08/13/2008, -2/+59basically, the guy wouldn't let go of his olympic dream without a struggle.
- teh_spazz, on 08/13/2008, -2/+59That'll buff right out.
- Weip, on 08/13/2008, -0/+56Hope he is okay!
- daedalous, on 08/13/2008, -1/+57The humorous part about them replaying it four times is that theres 30 comments on digg all saying how funny it was.
- RomeyRome, on 08/13/2008, -0/+51Pour some Robitussin on it. Mo tussin! Mo tussin!
- ChromaVita, on 08/13/2008, -0/+48My bet is that everything is wrong with his elbow right now.
- Lutremi, on 08/13/2008, -0/+48I got cancer. Robitussin.
Broke your leg? Robitussin!
There's no more in the bottle? Put some water on it and shake it up! Mo tussin! - thescimitar, on 08/13/2008, -0/+44My uncle suffered a similar injury, sorry to hear that you did too. He has the same history, and can straight his arm to about 30ยบ from level without pain, but it just stops there. He said the pain was indescribable as well (this from a person who has suffered eleven fractures...).
hope you continue to regain your range of movement. - k3rfuffl3, on 08/13/2008, -3/+47Funny how they keep showing it even after the commentators say they'd seen enough.
- rebotfc, on 08/13/2008, -1/+44Ain't you seen Lethal Weapon?
- skyshock1, on 08/13/2008, -0/+41The people that came out with the panels cracked me up. They all pretty much marched out in unison and knew exactly where they were supposed to be. Almost as if they'd trained to cover for someone when their ***** got completely ruined.
- bloodomen13, on 08/13/2008, -1/+41He is! He can finally scratch his back!
- DyDx, on 08/13/2008, -2/+42I'm fairly certain that a dislocated elbow is a far more serious injury than a dislocated shoulder. The shoulder is a ball and socket joint and is better equipped to handle that sort of trauma. The elbow would get seriously ***** up if dislocated.
- gitrplaya4u, on 08/13/2008, -0/+39And the funny thing is, while in the arena they have people blocking the view of it, they actually do a slo-mo replay of it XD
- BedPost, on 08/13/2008, -3/+39Hope it wasn't your wanking arm
- frenchi, on 08/13/2008, -0/+33I watched it 2 hours ago and I'm still not over it....his scream tells it all.
- MattFromSeattle, on 08/13/2008, -0/+32You gotta get the Tussin' deep into the bone son.
- shutaro, on 08/13/2008, -3/+34I find it amusing that they keep replaying the footage of this incident, in spite of the clear disgust expressed by the television announcers..
- DivineMonkey, on 08/13/2008, -0/+29Yeah, he'll just bang it against the wall and scream a bit....and presto!
- BugMeNot2, on 08/13/2008, -4/+32I like how they keep showing the replay despite the commentators repeating that they didn't want to see the dislocation again.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 08/13/2008, -3/+31pussy
- Aaronontheweb, on 08/13/2008, -8/+35I wonder how the doctors would fix his elbow. Surely they don't just pop the thing back into place, right?
- MasterPain, on 08/13/2008, -6/+32It is not his fault the pollution weakened his joints.
- SillyRabbits, on 08/13/2008, -3/+28Well, if you aren't going to get a gold, that's one way to be remembered. Kind of like the old Vinko Bogataj ski jump.
- xrEE, on 08/13/2008, -4/+28The most humorous part of that video for me was when the commentators said they did not want to see the replays, but they just kept on showing them
- BlackJackJester, on 08/13/2008, -2/+25http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqU2akTuIvM
- FanofFilm, on 08/13/2008, -0/+22that's a level of commitment to one's revulsion that i just can't convince myself to make
- Ursad, on 08/13/2008, -1/+22http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=33a_1218642189&p=1
- ChronicColonic, on 08/13/2008, -0/+21CIO - Career Is Over - as a weight lifter anyway.
- whiteknives, on 08/13/2008, -2/+23Rub some dirt on it.
- Equinox1, on 08/13/2008, -1/+21Goddamn, that looks awfully painful.
