- Jforsyth89, on 08/20/2008, -0/+46Kind of annoying how the descriptions of each image just say that the person was "injured." I wish it was more specific.

http://spikedhumor.com/articles/161269/Janos-Baran ... - aspec, on 08/20/2008, -0/+24#10: US women's soccer player Heather O'Reilly is bowled over by Japan's Kyoko Yano early in an Olympic semifinal at Beijing's Worker's Stadium. Neither one was injured and the Americans went on to win 4-2 to advance to the gold medal game.
What was that? Neither one was injured? This list is ***** fail. - Hockey13, on 08/20/2008, -1/+19http://i36.tinypic.com/qp2jvs.jpg
- NSoklofske, on 08/20/2008, -0/+17"Huang Dongjie of China grimaces after -he- was injured during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games preliminary group A -women's- handball match against France in Beijing on August 17, 2008. China won 21-18."
Wait, what? - LRonaldHubbs, on 08/20/2008, -0/+17I love how none of the captions actually say what happened. "ATHLETE was injured at the the Beijing Olympics while competing against OPPONENT in EVENT." What the hell, I want to know what happened! Yes, I can see they're INJURED. But how? I know #6 was a gruesome elbow dislocation suffered mid-clean. The guy's arm all of the sudden sickeningly pivots 180 degress the wrong way at the elbow, he drops the weight and falls to the ground convulsing. Anyone know the story behind the others?
- KingBabi, on 08/19/2008, -6/+18That's why they call 'em the o"limp"ics
- arichard, on 08/20/2008, -0/+11Not much detail on the injuries...
- Enfenestrate, on 08/20/2008, -0/+9They need more than "so and so was injured." I want details. Video of the injury would have been better too. This article was terrible.
- tsitneics, on 08/20/2008, -0/+9At least it's not the BME Pain Olympics.
- eraser34, on 08/20/2008, -1/+9Not clicking, i just ate and theres a chance i see the popped out elbow again.
- nobody98, on 08/20/2008, -0/+6Have youou never gotten a hand to ball injury whilst indulging in acts of self pleasure?
- gitboxgreg, on 08/20/2008, -0/+6dugg for trying :P
- thatspsychotic, on 08/20/2008, -1/+7Buried for no descriptions of how the injuries occurred.
- DubbleA, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4"Huang Dongjie of China grimaces after he was injured during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games preliminary group A women's handball match against France"
Read that a few times and tell me if that makes any sense. - bullioncube, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4You fail at comedic chauvinism sir.
- Kohaxx, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3"Huang Dongjie of China grimaces after HE was injured during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games preliminary group A WOMEN'S handball match against France in Beijing on August 17, 2008. China won 21-18."
That's what he gets for trying to compete in the women's preliminaries. Must be an embarassing injury to explain. "Yeah I got injured trying out for girl's handball." - Enfenestrate, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Hey, to be fair they did say that that one woman crashed her bike.
- dougvfr750, on 08/19/2008, -3/+6Handball injuries... WTF?
- southwestnut, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Hammer crashing in the velodrome sent chills up my spine.
As a cyclist let me break what that feels like down for you.
Hitting the ground at 35+mph is about like driving you car that fast, stripping down to your underwear(cause that is how much protection spandex gives you) then jumping out of the moving vehicle. It hurts. And in a velodrome with the near 45 degree banked curves there is a huge risk for broken clavicles.
Ouch. All I have to say. - Fmunkey, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3Nope, you don't actually see it. But you do see him in pain, but his arm is behind a person. It doesnt look too bad from that angle.
- redsoxmb545, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3I never want to see the words "Pain" and "Olympics" in the same sentence together ever again.
Ever. - solld3th, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3whats up with the last one, how the hell is it an injury if no one was injured
- ThraxyWaxy, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3How about the Canadian female triathlonist who broke her arm in a bike crash.

- choopie911, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2Way to overuse "grimace" And if that's a photo gallery of injuries, why was #10 included? It tells you right there that no-one was hurt.
- FUR10N, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2and the last one says that no one was injured.
wft? - inactive, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2lame, hardly any explanations..
- selmer, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2These are pretty tame...I thought I'd see more "weightlifter bends elbow backwards" pics.
- coreyb, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2Not gaelic hand ball (similar to squash old guys play), this is real hand ball
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hand_ball - coreyb, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2ouch...
- Waxx, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2This article would be a lot better if they gave us the details of the injury and how it happened.
- hammburglar, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2i cant wait for the day that ultimate frisbee gets added to the olympics....

A recent injury from a famous Chinese hurdler, Liu Xiang (Achilles tendon flared up or something). This one was probably one of the more disappointing ones, since it was being looked forward by tons of people. Apparently, there's lots of coverage on this in China. - D4N747, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Man, Handball is a dangerous sport.
- Me0wmix, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=WDtbzNlVE0w

Note the "he" and "woman's". Too bad I can't figure out which actually is the truer gender. - Aslan72, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Dugg for the Sneakers reference :)
- Ex3poo, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1This better not be the same story i just saw 45 minutes ago..
- stklaw, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Where's the groin kick from China to Belgium in men's football?
- Pewpewpew, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1The Pain Olympics makes 2g1c look like a porno.
- ManImAwesome, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1grimace = cried like a bitch
- thehitman47, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1I cringe everytime they repeated that injury on #6. Ouch!
- pumah, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Does anyone remember (I think it was the '98 winter Olympics) a speed skater went into the wall and dislocated his shoulder? They put him on a stretcher and wheeled him to the tunnel only to find out he wouldn't fit with the angle his arm was at. So, they had to *****' set it right there, and the microphones on the ice could pick up his screams.
- infraredflower, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Robert Acquafresca is looking pretty badass in #3.
- cheekdog, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1ok, but what were their injuries? some were obvious but.....
