- phoenixshard, on 08/22/2008, -1/+11I'm surprised cricket isn't in there either. Marital arts is another one I'm surprised at, that's something that is popular the world over. The other three that I'm kind of surprised they haven't adopted is golf, a summer version of speed skating with roller blades and some kind of rock climbing competitions.

I disagree that you can non discriminatively make decisions upon things that are so different. people have different routines, and patterns. Gymnastics is pretty much a 'I think this is better' therefore, those who know the judges have an upper advantage.

It's a corruption of what the Olympics is supposed to be about. Just because it CAN be labeled as a "sport" doesn't mean it's necessarily worthy of being an Olympic sport.
Just because driving a car in a large oval requires concentration and some physical endurance doesn't mean it's worthy of being an Olympic sport.
