- magicjohnson, on 06/23/2008, -2/+36........................................................................... I'm speechless that people actually do this.
- hapax, on 06/24/2008, -4/+33Now what else can be done through a border fence (hint hint)?
- xtinamo, on 06/24/2008, -0/+29A thumb war?
- alapoet, on 06/23/2008, -5/+31I think it's a great statement.
- Gosunkugi, on 06/24/2008, -1/+25An epic staring contest?
- inactive, on 06/24/2008, -2/+25They would probably be debating between tazing or shooting them, cause that's how we roll in the USA.
- Surferess, on 06/24/2008, -2/+25A drug deal?
- MakiMaki, on 06/23/2008, -9/+30Hippie-ish social activism. I like the idea!
- Surferess, on 06/24/2008, -2/+19Maybe their tourism would go up if they stopped kidnapping tourists.
- acmaurer, on 06/23/2008, -2/+19Interesting piece - and it makes me wonder how border patrol feels about this.
- Shiftgood, on 06/24/2008, -0/+16trump..I read your statement like 10 x trying to figure out what it meant.. all i could come up with was:
"my dad hit my sister a lot and my mom is an alcoholic with a liver condition" - FortyCaliber, on 06/24/2008, -0/+15Survey Says...
...Pilates - tripledjr, on 06/24/2008, -5/+18Why?
This doesn't show anything, other then the fact that people can see through fences. - craighoxton, on 06/24/2008, -5/+18Could you guys, like, carry on building your border wall so it goes up along the West and East Coast and then across the Canadian border and then STAY INSIDE? Thanks.
- UTPinky, on 06/24/2008, -1/+14Yeah because smart criminals like to return to the scene of the crime. "Hey everybody!! Let's go back near the border and wave and make fun of the Border Patrol Agents that missed us coming over.. I bet they'll find it funny... I'm sure it'll be a blast!!"
- granolajoe, on 06/24/2008, -4/+16Awesome story. Truly inspirational. And as cheesy as it sounds...it shows that though they may be physically divided, true friendship and mutual respect can't be shattered...not even by a huge fence.
- LilRedStapler, on 06/24/2008, -0/+12Let me be the minority here and say that I appreciate the idea. I live about 20 minutes away from the border and I would've been there had I known this was taking place. One common stereotype is that Yoga is just stretching exercises for girls and hippie tree-hugging, "find your center" crap. Not entirely true. Yoga actually involves a lot of core training, flexibility, stamina, and concentration - just try holding the Tree or Peacock pose for 5 minutes and you'll know what I mean. One of the biggest benefit I got from yoga is that it is a great way to relief back pains. I was once upon a time a skeptic as well, but it worked. Also, it's a great way to get your butt off the couch and stop munching on snacks, and still be able to watch the tv. There's also very little equipment costs involved (don't have a yoga mat? Use a beach towel!), you really just need a book or a video to show you the basics to get started.
Now, about the border part. Yes, I'll say it's a big stretch to relate Yoga to cross-border friendship. But, I'll also say that it's a small step for us to be able to view each other as human beings (equals), rather than "gringo" vs "wetbacks". We have gang problems here in US, they have gang problems in Mexico too. They grow marijuana, we have meth labs. We have poverty and unemployment, so do they.
My belief is that if we can help our neighbors get out of the crappy situation they're in, then we'll be in better shape too. - dreid1987, on 06/24/2008, -2/+13He made a sex reference!
- pingpants, on 06/23/2008, -3/+13A salute to the sun isn't the same when you're staring at a chain link fence.
- FuryOfThor, on 06/23/2008, -6/+15I have my reservations about yoga, but this is very inventive and pretty darn cool.
- BeeArePro, on 06/24/2008, -0/+9More sex at 11 or more news?
- DreKor, on 06/24/2008, -0/+9I'm going with Tae Bo
- alexforcefive, on 06/24/2008, -1/+9KARAOKE!
- screamingjoker, on 06/24/2008, -2/+10Yo bro, Texas was part of MEXICO until people from the US Illegally settled there. The Mexican's couldn't keep the Texans out, so it became Texas. Now it's the other way around. ...Ain't Karma a Bitch.
- Shiftgood, on 06/24/2008, -1/+8oh look, a redneck learned hot to use a 'puter.
- guardsman85, on 06/24/2008, -0/+7Don't forget border volleyball.
http://digg.com/odd_stuff/US_Mexico_volleyball_gam ... - Barackalypse, on 06/24/2008, -4/+10Yet another reason to support a border fence, it keeps Yoga practicing hippies out, along with drug dealers, and illegal workers.
- ulmedas, on 06/24/2008, -0/+6Why? Yoga is probably the best and most complete work out I have ever had. I started about three months ago, thinking, "Man, I am becoming a hippy." Now there are about a dozen friends who have started going with me. We are all in the best shape of our lives, which is saying something as we are all active and athletic folks who ride bikes a minimum of 10 miles every day.
Also, if you like to sweat, there is nothing better...no sauna, wrestling practice, desert hike, late summer sex in a room with no air circulation, nothing pulls sweat out of your pores like yoga. - Larsonal777, on 06/24/2008, -2/+8Hanky panky?
- Asianwaste, on 06/24/2008, -0/+6It is a bit of a stretch...
- centran, on 06/24/2008, -0/+5you think that would make boarder patrol worried? How about boarder volleyball?
http://www.laweekly.com/columns/a-considerable-tow ... - UTPinky, on 06/24/2008, -4/+9Why? No one's trying to cross a fence...

- flamesoftheend, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4Women from both countries unite in spandex!
- j.carcinogen, on 06/24/2008, -1/+5The US should give Mexicans safe passage to Canada.
- charm803, on 06/24/2008, -1/+5 The United States has more random murders daily. New York has more murders per year than Ciudad Juarez.
Mexican murders are evil, but so are all the other murders happening EVERYWHERE else. You can't just pin point one Mexican City without pin pointing similar cities everywhere in the world.
Try to be less ignorant and more productive. - davebots, on 06/24/2008, -8/+12I dont think i could hide my gun under my yoga mat if one of them tried to jump the fence. Wait what am i saying....i would never own a yoga mat.
- Amuhlou82, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4am I the only one wondering how they "exchanged hugs" through that fence?
- inactive, on 06/24/2008, -3/+7BREAKING NEWS: Sex held through border fence between USA and Mexico. More at eleven.
- inactive, on 06/24/2008, -6/+10Immigration laws and drug laws are pointless, unenforceable and counter-productive. They criminalize non-criminal behavior. But they both make stupid people happy.
- larissa13, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4Speechless abou the Yoga class or doing it through the fence...either way, Im in agreement!
- sodade, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4I ride mountain and road bikes quite a lot and yoga has improved my cycling dramatically and helped me deal with some serious back issues. Yoga is one of those hippy dippy things that actually work.
- BloodyPath, on 06/24/2008, -1/+5So do they do this at the Southern Mexican border?
You know, where the Mexican Govt. keeps people from Guatemala from entering Mexico?
No? /rolls eyes. - queondatavo, on 06/24/2008, -0/+3They don't kidnap many tourists, mostly locals. Lots and lots of locals.
Tourists will mostly get abused and robbed. Locals will get kidnapped and murdered. - screamingjoker, on 06/24/2008, -1/+4The Yoga class really doesn't look like they're trying to sneak into the country. Its just human interaction man, lighten up. You need some Yoga and a hug.
- guardsman85, on 06/24/2008, -1/+4Yeah, it's a big slap in the face to people who go through the actual process. My friend had to spend a huge chunk of time and money to get his wife over here. They both get pissed about illegal immigration.
- inactive, on 06/24/2008, -0/+3What does my wanting people to enter the country legally have to do with whether or not I view them as human beings?
So what you're saying is EVERY COUNTRY in the world views people as not being human if they are not from their country or live on the other side of the border?
Go ahead, list a country that allows people to swarm over their borders illegally.
I'll be waiting. - subterfuge, on 06/24/2008, -0/+3interlingual charades?
