Men - MistrBrownstone, on 04/02/2009, -0/+15I witnessed this happen one time myself. It was the middle of the winter and two women were "locked in" a car outside a restaurant. I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but I'm guessing that they got in the car and there was just enough juice in the battery to turn the engine over a few times. The car probably had that safety feature that automatically locks the doors when the ignition is turned (which i never understood), and when the battery died before successfully starting the engine the power locks no longer worked. I don't know how long they were in there, but when I showed up a guy was standing outside their car trying to explain that all they had to do was flip the manual lock. They just kept telling him that the locks were power locks and the battery was dead. Explaining that the manual locks would function without batter power just wasn't getting through to them. The guy and I gave each other that "what the *****?" look, and I told him good luck and went inside. They must have finally figured it out because they were gone when I came back out of the restaurant.
