- putnam, on 10/12/2007, -6/+158I work at Facebook and I've been lucky enough to be at the office late at night when David was painting for the past 2 weeks. I casually mentioned something about Daft Punk (along with a friend of mine), asking if he'd drop a subtle reference in someplace. Needless to say, I came into work about 2 days later, saw the stairwell, and completely lost my *****. This guy is absolutely amazing.
He painted our old office, too, which is sadly now Azureus's office and everything got painted over :( - Nougat, on 10/12/2007, -11/+100That would be immensely irritating to have to look at every single day at work. Minimalism is more appropriate.
- StMac, on 10/12/2007, -7/+59Ironically, it's like a myspace page isn't it? Distracting and painful on the eyes.
- MrSpontaneous, on 10/12/2007, -3/+53@gxcdesign:
then there are those of us with a reasonable number of friends who use facebook to stay in touch with our friends and manage our events... there are more people like me than there are friend-whores. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+51http://duggmirror.com/offbeat_news/What_the_facebook_com_office_walls_look_like_tons_of_pics/
- JamesWilson, on 10/12/2007, -3/+40ugly
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+36What, no slutty girls in provocative poses wearing nothing but fishnets and a black thong?
Oh wait that's Myspace. - TheSabre, on 10/12/2007, -7/+38@gxcdesign: 'but you have to admit that all those websites where an Attention whore has 13455 friends and all of them are "omg you're hot thanks for the add!"'
Come on now... who on those sites actually spells "you're" correctly? It's more like "omgz ur hott thx 4 tha add". You give them way too much credit. - beaunewcomb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+29Totally ugly.. how the hell could you focus in an office like that? looks more like a nightclub than an office
- aussieNickuss, on 10/12/2007, -9/+34I don't think I could work there. Those pics kind of remind of a dingy and dark apartment building in a poor suburb.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+27"tons of pics" ... there's 11.
That's not very many at all. - sunchild, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24Wow...worst misspelling of "those" ever...crongrats.
- madsmith, on 10/12/2007, -12/+34I love the comment in the forum "what is this facebook place? is it a gallery, do they paint over these? or are they up for a while?". ha ha n00b.
- richashby, on 10/12/2007, -6/+26Couldn't agree more. It reminds me of the Carbrini Green scenes from Candyman.
Suppose it's OK if they fancy working in an urban nightmare, but probably not the most serene surroundings to code in. - spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -8/+23well you're fat.
- artliquide, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Beats the mustard yellow/olive green walls at my work.
- fujimonster, on 10/12/2007, -7/+21Am I the only one that thinks it's fugly?
- dvorachek, on 10/12/2007, -8/+19buried as lame, don't link to passworded *****
- unloud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Why of course there are; that's up to 11!
- noverflow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Damn... Thats my site... I thought I was under a DOS!
I password protected it to block it.
Sorry... there is no way I can handle the bandwidth.
Ill try...
Coming back up - Quickstrike, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10I get to look at ***** like that for free in my parking lot complex.
- elvenseven, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Dead too.
- Rocketbird, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8congrats*
I love it when people make mistakes when correcting someone else's. - nsummy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Looks like some really bad mexican murals. I could find a few guys down at the train tracks spray painting boxcars that would probably do work just as good for a couple of cases of beer.
- merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Saw a bit of this walking by the offices (they're practically in the middle of downtown palo alto) last week. Didn't know it was new, but what little you can see through their front windows kinda stands out.
Ironically, that's probably the only graffiti in the whole damn town. It's total yuppies-ville 'round there. - jacketdesplash, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Ug my eyes! At least you can puke on the walls and nobody will notice.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9That stuff is scary :(
- sunchild, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Another example proving that you can't buy good taste....
- NinjaBoy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8WOW 404. Never thought the walls would look like that.
- XBassGuitarX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5@gxcdesign:
Everybody has a different reason to use these websites. When I graduated high school, I quickly realized that of all the friends I had, I maintained personal communication with something like four them.
With Facebook or MySpace, I can "add" everybody who I wasn't close enough to to bother maintaining a constant connection with, and just know that if I ever wanted or needed to reach them, I could. There is no reason not to have a Facebook or a MySpace (or any of these social sites) if you are at all social with anybody. - Greenspin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@putnam
Since you work there, any chance you can get them to revisit some of the regional networks? My city has been lumped together with Detroit and they seem to be ignoring the requests pouring in to put it in it's own region.
(Sorry this is off topic, but I figured it's worth a shot..) - rogerd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Wouldn't want to doze off at your desk and wake up to THAT looming over you...
- benguild, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Page is broken.
- bartendergod, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Authorization Required? Apparently this won't be getting too many more diggs.
- cyberfly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I've always wondered why people can't just use flickr for pics..
- kitty855, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8Wow I would not want to go to work every morning and have to look at that!
- biff198, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Gosh I'm so sick of this. Why do people even use Photobucket or Imageshack anymore? It seems like as soon as they hit the front page of digg, the image is down because of bandwidth issues. Is it really that difficult to use an image host that doesn't have bandwidth limitations?
- apetrie, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7What is appropriate is what works for them and they enjoy being in. I personally would love that environment, and would find it creatively stimulating. I can see how it wouldn't be everyones cup of tea, but I think "appropriate" is relative.
- bohrhead, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6I'm pretty sure that must be the vandal in the first picture. Look he's got paint all over his jeans. Caught in the act! Someone should send the photo to the police so they can start looking for him.
- korn91313, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4That's freaking amazing skillz, this guy is really talented and inspirational.
- gajillion, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I'd sue for forcing me to work in a hostile work place. The Burlington-Northern has better looking graffiti.
- disciple83, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3but they are pretty good sized pictures... I agree with Nougat, after about a week, i'd need something different.
- xero9, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Why is it that everyone who doesn't like this "art" (I'm using art VERY loosely here) is getting dugg down? Burying peoples comments isn't going to make this crap any better
- PradaPete, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0free expression? for whom? What if some Facebook employees would rather look at something else?
You're an idiot - imdrfreak, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2This would be delightful.. if you like working in what looks like a derelict building coated in graffiti.
Honestly, people enjoy working in what looks like a total trashheap? - PradaPete, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I can piss some blood on your apartment it will look very similar
- michaelb1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Not my cup of tea. Its a little too urban ghetto graffiti for me.
Not that thats bad, I just don't like it that much.
But, the guy has talent. - shanthp, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4You losers who are dissing the work as ugly and say you could never focus in an office like that are so sad and boring. I'd like to see you all paint one thing even half as nice as one wall in that place. David Choe is an amazing talent. It's sad that this site is populated with so many haters.
- lemmingscanfly, on 10/12/2007, -7/+7You obviously don't realise it wasn't password protected when they submitted it...
- PradaPete, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I rather have a white wall than this decorative ***** which isn't even close to art.
If you rely on this adolescent 80s-90s adolescent bs to make yourself appear less boring, that must be the most boring thing in the world. You're mainstream, regardless of how much you think you're not. Hell, I would like to punch you in the face now for being an uninteresting self-important skaterboy. -
