- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+4But why would anyone actually want to do this? If it actually tasted good, -Everyone- would be eating it. Everyone eats Pizza. Why would I want to eat bugs when I could buy a Pizza..?
- JustinTense, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3This is America??
Dam, I must have caught the wrong plane! - BrokenNebula, on 01/18/2008, -1/+4That's Thai food, jackass.
- quomen, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3It's not the food that's outrageous, but the price. Nine dollars for a bug?
- chrisbarr, on 01/18/2008, -0/+3maybe you can put some scorpions on your pizza
- DeviantDragon, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Oh man, to think that this appetizing assortment is only 3 minutes away from me.
- Sinudeity, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2Woohoo!!! Friday!!!
- Zlorp, on 01/18/2008, -0/+2the guy on Man vs Wild even almost throws up when he eats scorpions. ***** that *****.
- edebolt, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1yeah the legs are terrible between the teeth. A lot of people grab the bug by the legs and just bite off the body and throw the legs away.
- skippyoh, on 01/18/2008, -1/+2eh, that looks better than most of the ***** they serve at Mcdonalds.
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -1/+2Except the cheeseburger... WITH the Pickle.
- chrisbarr, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1I would try the Scorpions and the Ants ONLY. Crickets don't appeal to me at all, and the review of the waterbugs seemed horrible.
- koppers, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1Mmmmmm Insects mmmmm, yummy ;)
- funkyband, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1Ahaha! I've eaten there. I was always too scared to try the buggy dishes, though.

http://www.recipesblog.net - edebolt, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1I live in Thailand and they like to fry just about everything. The people from Issan (eastern Thailand) like to eat fried bugs and indeed they sell many varieties on the streets in Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Phuket etc for the Thai people with Issan tastes. The carts just sells the fried bugs with maybe some dipping sauce. Nothing fancy like scorpions on cheese toast
- allexpert, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1Wow that's it I found my best meal))) I wonder why i have to eat porridge on mornings while there such a delicious meal like insects??? Now i know for sure that'll not die from hunger!!! )))
- Karmavs, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1WHen I was doing exchange in Japan, I tried crickets - not cooked like this though. The way I had them, they tasted like little toffees - I don't think they really have much of a flavour on their own, its all in how you cook them. (it's kind of disconcerting when a leg gets stuck in your teeth though)
- rheaume, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1It takes you 3 minutes to walk to the kitchen?
- androothebear, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1...came a day late
- sippykup, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1Funny to see one of my favorite restaurants on the front page of Digg. :) If you're in the LA area, you should definitely make the trip to this place. I highly recommend the Thai Green Curry Shrimp. The Tom Yam Kung soup is great too. If you like spicy food, ask them to bring you some Thai peppers too. But be warned. They are insanely hot. :)
- xxA7XxaDdiCtxx, on 01/18/2008, -0/+1I think I'll stick to good ol' processed meat
- kashifmahmood, on 01/18/2008, -0/+0now what are they thinking when they make such food ....LOL
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -0/+0hmmm... ill remember the deep fry part when I'm on fear factor...

- rainyman, on 01/18/2008, -0/+0Americanized Thai food, to be precise.
- rumbl3r, on 01/18/2008, -0/+0nugh ugh...
- Kardall, on 01/18/2008, -1/+1It seems like an attempt at feeding people like the "oxygen bars" ... Honestly.
They used to eat bugs cause of the only food source, then eventually people learned to use SPEARS, and killed PIGS!!!! thus the Pork.
Maybe someone forgot this when creating this restaurant, if you can call it that. - padth, on 01/18/2008, -0/+0Buried. Typhoon is one of my favorite restaurants and I don't want it to be packed with douche bags talking about nothing but ron paul and marijuana.
- bestbuyout, on 12/13/2008, -0/+0omg, when i first saw this, i just feel like i wanna puke..
but of course, these cuisine is pretty common 'in the other world'
http://www.coupon-promo-code.com/ - retzed, on 01/18/2008, -0/+0How to safely eat insects?

http://makeupapplication.org/ - rainyman, on 01/18/2008, -0/+0Perhaps, but I'm guessing they season their food for American tastes. Look at their menu. It's a smattering of all sorts of Asian cuisines. While it's possible that their food authentically represents their menu, from my experience, places like that cater to the American tongue. A lot of Americans like their Chinese food salty, and go overboard (in my opinion) with soy sauce. Many Chinese restaurants recognize this, and season their food accordingly.

- patchsuperstor, on 12/02/2008, -0/+0it's challange
- cobrapeed, on 01/18/2008, -1/+0"you can't really taste the scorpion". How the hell would he really know what scorpion tastes like? He's never tried it previously.
And basting insects in a ton of spices and dunking in sweet and sour pretty much negates the insect. The only reason they tasted gross is because they knew they were eating insects. If they closed their eyes and were told they were eating garlic, it wouldn't have been a concern. Mind over matter fellas.
I've seen wilder things eaten on discovery channel, food network, etc. w/o being cooked in multiple strong spices and dunked in sweet and sour. - thephuckphase, on 01/18/2008, -1/+0you know, its rude to pick at your food
- Djokuuskaj, on 01/18/2008, -3/+1that is america, deep fry anything and your all set.
