- TheHungerArtist, on 06/18/2009, -4/+99***** man this ***** is so scary. I need a smoke... oh wait *****
- BlackSheep720, on 06/18/2009, -9/+95that just means you're british, don't worry.
- astorygirl, on 06/17/2009, -9/+69Smoking IS gross.
- allyclark, on 06/17/2009, -2/+53Then you might want to go to a dentist about that
- N01SE, on 06/18/2009, -3/+51The human body is gross (except for mine, my stool smells like fresh baked cinnamon rolls), we rarely only see it from the inside, so what do you expect.
- ken18, on 06/17/2009, -4/+51wtf, I've got the same teeth as the lady at 0:45, but I've never smoked...
- MargotCross, on 06/17/2009, -6/+53uhhh, yeah. i wont be smoking any time soon. gross.
- Phases78, on 06/17/2009, -2/+42I quit five or so years ago after a 8 or 9 year run, and this ad makes me nervous I didn't quit soon enough. Nasty!
- oSallyo, on 06/18/2009, -7/+42I live in Australia, and hate smokers (they stink), and this ad is probably quiet effective.
But I cannot watch it, it is horrible, and unfortunately it is on the TV several times a night, I do not smoke, and do not wish to watch it.
It is actually several older anti-smoking ad's stringed together, BTW, the girl with the messed up mouth was all make up, still disgusting though.
I usually turn away, walk out of the room, or change channels when the ad is on.
Most of our scare campaign ad's are like this, we have similar ad's for speed/ice/meth, speeding, drink driving, micro sleeps, pot, skin cancer, pretty much anything that is considered bad by the government. - m4csrgh3yk3v, on 06/18/2009, -0/+28try another 2 condoms
- MasterGrief, on 06/18/2009, -0/+28The Canadians had some *seriously* disturbing workplace safety ads a few years back. Just absolutely awful. Lemme link you to some!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noFCekWiUGE - brokeswagen, on 06/18/2009, -5/+32I am a smoker but ***** somethings got to kill me.
Might as well be something I enjoy. - bethaners, on 06/18/2009, -5/+32Aren't we all forgetting that smoking makes you supercoolawesomefantastic? Isn't that worth the risks? It's like skateboarding without a helmet. You do it because it looks cool.
- gameboyhippo, on 06/18/2009, -1/+26It's weird how digg is anti smoking and pro marijuana
- fondofMILFs, on 06/18/2009, -1/+26Oh wow, that's twice as good as you did in rehearsal!
- Toshibi, on 06/18/2009, -0/+24I personally do it because I'm highly addicted to it. But if you think it makes me look cool...*****, it's a bonus.
- fondofMILFs, on 06/18/2009, -46/+68Let me begin by saying that I am not a smoker, I never will be a smoker, and I think smoking is extremely gross.
But come on. The health hazards associated with smoking have been blown so far out of proportion that it's ridiculous. You hear stats all the time on the TV, stuff like, "Smoking increases your risk of lung cancer by 300%!" So too bad, smokers--now you have a 0.03% chance of getting lung cancer, instead of a 0.01% chance.
You hear about those women who live to be 110, yet they've been smoking for ninety years. People smoke a pack a day for their entire lives and come out of it scot-free.
So can we please stop talking about smoking? It's the person's choice what they want to do or what they want to put into their own bodies. - dlan4327, on 06/18/2009, -0/+22This ad doesn't work on my dad. He makes off hand comments like "I wonder how long her make up took?"
- mrhahn, on 06/18/2009, -6/+28I've never understood that stereotype. We get free dental care in England, why would we have terrible teeth?
- MustacheFace, on 06/18/2009, -0/+21Mouth Cancer chick-
http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/the-art-of-fak ... - cshilney, on 06/18/2009, -4/+23some people are lucky and some aren't. thats why some people can smoke and get away with it without harming their body too much. smoking increases the probability of everything shown in the video. why would anyone want to increase their chances of that stuff? just because it may not increase the "chance" by a lot there is still a correlation between the two.
p.s. you show me a 110 year old person who has been smoking for 90 years. - IgorUnchained, on 06/18/2009, -0/+18I like the one where the people smoke pot and run over kids...or turn into puddles. Shock value over realism is the coolest!
I like how the meth ads make the addicts look like slow moving, drippy/damp, zombies. Ever seen someone on meth?
They may be all scabby and dirty, but they sure arent all half catatonic in a corner. Those silly bastards are rebuilding a clock, picking off their first 3 layers of skin, and drawing your portrait with colored pencils. All it takes is a 3 am trip to the hardware department at your local Wal Mart and you will see the difference.
This is your brain
This is your brain on propaganda
Any Questions? - inactive, on 06/17/2009, -0/+17Hopefully you got them from one of those gumball machines at the supermarket.
- okayokayokay, on 06/17/2009, -2/+19I lasted 5 seconds.
- KibblesnBitts, on 06/18/2009, -0/+16Aaaaaaand after the Stroke example, I will not be eating a jelly doughnut anytime in the near future.
- BraveLilToasta, on 06/18/2009, -2/+18Then you obviously don't smoke in the first place. No way in hell watching one shock-ad is gonna make anyone quit cold turkey.
- ursername180, on 06/18/2009, -0/+15Like a Smoker? Oh ho L4D joke.
- sweetpickle, on 06/17/2009, -3/+18OMG I will never smoke again!
- max1018, on 06/18/2009, -4/+19Smokers don't bother me too much unless it's around kids or in public places. No one should be forced to passively smoke.
- illDecree, on 06/18/2009, -0/+13That's what she said.
- leftofthecenter, on 06/18/2009, -0/+12fta you are linking to:
"We should draw no conclusions from the existence of a smoker who has lived to 90 or 100 in the same way as the existence of a soldier who survived the D-Day invasion on the beaches of Normandy should lead us to conclude that machine gun fire isn't dangerous," - jeffmon, on 06/18/2009, -0/+12Holy ***** that was terrible.
- aladrin, on 06/18/2009, -0/+12If you quit 5 years or so ago, almost every cell in your body has been replaced by now. In another couple years, all of them will be. Don't worry about it.
- borez, on 06/18/2009, -3/+15Heads up, people who don't smoke also get mouth cancer, lung cancer, brain cancer, heart disease, emphysema, clogged arteries etc. too.
- inactive, on 06/18/2009, -3/+14I personaly belive that smoking is a personal choice and should be respected, but dont come crying to others that you have lung cancer or suffer a stroke because you had the bad habit of smoking a pack per day.
- blitzkriegpunk, on 06/18/2009, -1/+12Yeah, I ***** hate these ads. They show these at all hours of the day and even at the movies. I don't pay $35 for a Gold Class movie ticket to watch your ***** ads. I go to see a comedy and I have to endure this gross ***** I didn't pay for. Can't even change the channel, maaaaaan.
- AimlessAbyss, on 06/18/2009, -4/+15But this is totally different, man! The body of a normal person may be gross, but the smoker's is sickening!
- BeShirtHappy, on 06/17/2009, -6/+17Whatever it takes to drive the point home.
- Toshibi, on 06/18/2009, -0/+11Luck has little to do with it, except for having the "luck" of having certain genetics.
http://news.aol.com/health/article/101-year-old-sm ... - mass922, on 06/18/2009, -0/+11WTF? You paid $35 for a movie ticket?
- misterparry, on 06/18/2009, -0/+10EVERYBODY KNOOOOOOWS....
- Toshibi, on 06/18/2009, -1/+11Hell, I smoked while watching it and didn't even flinch. I know smoking is bad for me. I know this. I've lost people to smoking related illnesses. My current life expectancy as a smoker is 72.2 years...on average. A non smokers at the same age is 79.7 years. I've seen people in their 70's and 80's...that's a long full life.
- maffiou, on 06/18/2009, -2/+12@mrhahn: I'd like to know where you get your free dental care... I'm still paying for mine and that's an NHS dentist... It's probably subsidized, but they can't do everything... and a crown still cost £200... It's better in France.
- skidork, on 06/18/2009, -6/+16inb4 British...oh....damn.
- ausdigger, on 09/15/2009, -1/+11I live in oz (see my nickname) and this thing is just GROSS and completely over the top.
I was a smoker who recently quit. not cos of the ads but cos it was bad for my health.
there are several problems with the australian anti smoking campaign.
1) it blows the statistics out of proportion.
2) they show disgusting ads during the day, that kids can see. (I can barely watch them) - TheAverageMike, on 06/18/2009, -1/+10Old news but still...
If you ask me, it's ineffective for smokers....an addiction is an addiction. There is no advertisement, in my opinion, that can elicit one to simply switch off their addiction. - borez, on 06/18/2009, -2/+11You may want to lay of the meth.
- Majora26, on 06/18/2009, -0/+9then let it be wild sex instead!
- electronicdream, on 06/18/2009, -0/+9Try going slower.
- Stumped, on 06/18/2009, -0/+9Don't forget the German forklift safety video
