A decade ago I took a poster of one of these and sat and stared at it for an hour trying the various tricks that people say to try. Then suddenly my eyes caught it and locked on. It was easier to get back again later. These days it only takes a second for me to lock on.
It's a skill. You just need to practice. Look past the images and relax your eyes. Just focus on the distance farther and farther away. How would the color blind see this image? I have a friend who only sees red, but no shades.

- max420, on 12/31/2007, -1/+13I find it helps if you look at the image and then slowly cross your eyes. Eventually your eyes will focus on it. Most people expect the image to magically change to the teapot... it won't. What will happen is you will see a relief image of the teapot on the image you see on the screen. Its a wierd effect.
