- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+38"How is your throat feeling, Thumbelina?"
"I'm a little hoarse!" - bookishboy, on 10/12/2007, -9/+42"'Because her legs are proportionally smaller than her body and her head, she has to wear orthopaedic fittings to straighten them a lot of the time.
'But we love her and wouldn't want her any other way.' "
Asked in a followup question whether they had any plans to stop breeding malformed freaks who would live a life of crippling pain and humiliation, Michael Goessling replied, "Why would we? I mean look at her. She's sooooooooooo kewt!" - jacobo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30more pictures here

"'She was just a complete fluke..."
"She has the ability to become pregnant and give birth to foals, but her owners have decided not to allow this to happen. "
"'And although we love Thumbelina, we do not think it is right that the gene which creates dwarfism in horses is carried on through future generations"
Obviously they are doing the right thing by not intentionally trying for more this small. - elitexero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Forget pocket bikes....
Pocket Horse!! NEIIIGH! - JackHallows, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Why does everyone always add extra steps?
- EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16It's a shame Thumbelina's female. I finally would have had an excuse to tell every woman I meet I'm hung like a horse.
- Popdmb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17They need to cast her in a Willow sequel or something...
- VolatileWhimsy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17She is so cute
- phunlee, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17did you comment on the wrong front page story?
- Cougaboy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Even more pictures straight from the horse's mouth...sorry I couldn't resist.
http://www.worldssmallesthorse.com/ - mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11That's not funny. If you're marketing something, then you're selling it, thus making a profit. There's no ??? step.
- Crumbeast, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11So... did they come up with that 17 year lifespan by just assuming she gets one year of life for every inch that she is tall? Because I don't think it works like that for other horses...
- mikeazorin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10You'd only be able to ride that horse if you were a baby. But you wouldn't remember that anyway.
- kokorhekkus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Dugg you up for insight. Same damn thing goes on with dogs. There are some limits you should at least consider when breeding any animal because it will affect the survival ratio of the breed. No, I'm not a fully fledged animal rights advocate... I just think that some reason should be applied regardless if we breed animals for pets or food.
- Chilllllion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Paris Hilton should choke to death on a *****.
- Chilllllion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7This is easily the coolest horse I've ever seen. Now all we need is a monkey dressed as a cowboy to ride it and I'd be set for life.
- ArendM, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8@siodine:
You should see a shrink for having thoughts like that - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6oh the evils of tabbed browsing :S
- Humptydank, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6If only Catherine the Great had one of these she would have lived to a ripe old age.
- MrTea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah really, you can just tie it to a leash and hear maybe one-million feminine voices going "its so cute."
- mtnsoccerguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Umm..
It's a girl. - Shayer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2'awwwwe'
soo kewwwt! (^_^) - jessebs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I can't say anything for this horse farm, but from my experiences, places specializing in breeding miniaturized animals tend to have bad practices. My dad had 2 Dalmations that he got from a rescue center because the ones that don't end up small get dumped on the side of a highway...

"ehhh esse, you wanna see the Thumbelina show?" - dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Damn it! its always the stupid jokes that tickle me the most..
Two fish in a tank, one of them says to the other "how do you drive this thing?" - NinJar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hehe midget horse

- ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1'And although we love Thumbelina, we do not think it is right that the gene which creates dwarfism in horses is carried on through future generations.'
All I could think was, "Eugenics...FTL..." - markp93, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is where they get superglue from (tiny horse, tiny bottle).
- marinist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1If they did breed these horses, there would be a huge market for them, particularly among pre-teen girls. You could also keep it in your back yard, but I bet larger house cats would attack it.
- damha, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1the midget of the animal world.
- sakuraz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Anyone read it as "The world's Smallest House"???
- 3Den, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm still waiting for my house hippo.
Or better.. a miniature elephant the size of a chihuahua.
I would SO pay for that. - gsga22, on 02/07/2008, -0/+0Maybe they should have gone here... http://betterhealththroughsupplements.com
- marinist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hippos have terrible temperaments though--a smaller version might make a good guard animal.
"Danger: Attack Hippo" - ElusiveByte, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You got dugg down for that? Man, I was gonna say the same thing... I thought it was funny as hell!
- devildog1775, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Nice one.. what you have not heard of horse height math ? my horse is 50 inches tall so he will live to be 50.. everyone knows that.
/sarcasm - dpk87, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1How can something be so bad... and yet so good. bravo
- Cronium, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0not enough /b/ here unfortunatly

"conscious awareness in a child doesn't develop until abou 2-3 years old. This is a fact,"
It was also "a fact" that babies did not have the cerebral cortical functions required to feel pain but that is now being questioned. The mind is still very much an unknown in a lot of ways especially in infants. - jocnnor, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4or riding it through the park
- Bevatron, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5No one show this to Paris Hilton! It'll end up as her next pet of the moment. I wonder what she'd name her new tiny lap horse.
- Jack9, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Dupe dupe dupe
- 0firefly0, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I do not care for these babies and their pain...
