If the story ended there, then it would have been nothing, but not only was the car identical, but his key also unlocked the door and started the car, and it wasn't until he left the parking lot that he realized that some of the details in the car weren't right.

Because where I live(in rural Ohio), if some stranger made their way into my home in the middle of the night, I would have a weapon pointed at their chest, yelling at them. If they didn't make any aggressive actions, then I would call the police and keep a careful eye on the intruder until they arrived. Seriously... a complete stranger, inside your house, in the middle of the night! That's some scary stuff, in my opinion.
