- marksmayo, on 10/12/2007, -11/+98Ok that's it. Yes - the monitors are cool. But note the headline on their page - "Incredible Monitor Setups"? That's a good, fair title. I'm sick of people using "coolest" and "ever" in their posts - yes, it is cool, very infact, but probably not the coolest, and certainly not "ever" - there have been more on digg even a week ago.
- jarbro, on 07/23/2009, -2/+49the 5 CRTs across is covered in Weak Sauce... how does that even make the page?
A lot of those are weak. - ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+45I am always thankful for posts like yours, for 2 reasons:
1) Obviously, you provided mirrors & direct links to images.
2) You did not sneak a goatse/tubgirl in the middle. - bobcrotch, on 10/12/2007, -3/+45Flying lessons are very very expensive.

Sorry it was so long - Billiam627, on 10/12/2007, -6/+29Oh man, the pr0n would blow my mind...

The list goes on. Multi-monitor setups are probably UNDER used if anything. - Hipple, on 10/12/2007, -6/+25I like the guy who strapped the joystick to his chair to complete the flight simulator experience, but it seems like you may as well just buy some flying lessons (or a plane) at that point
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19The only one I'd consider actually using is the one with the single huge monitor in the middle, with 4 small ones around it.
Having lines going through the middle of everything would annoy the hell out of me - fireflydigi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18I'm tired of every front page story I check out being down.

- longboarder543, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18I'm beginning to think that Duggmirror's algorithm waits until the site is down before mirroring it. Catch *something* every once in a while, please.
- joeuttaro, on 06/06/2008, -0/+16Did anyone else catch the 1st comment at the end?

Sudeep says:
I am believing that these monitor sets are to be believed fantastic.
Were I to have set up monitors such as this I could take many more jobs away from Americans than the dozen I have taken before today.
I am working, very hard, to watch more and more shows of Friends to learn that it is OK to be not shy with taking your jobs.
Thank you very much, Sudeep - djrocksteady, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Has anyone explained to you that you're not supposed to explain jokes, or they become unfunny?
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -10/+24bury me
- SasquatchBill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Note to self: Never use Geek Squad job as a pointer to nerd status - you'll just end up looking dumb.
- ExSlashdotter, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14agreed. I've got 3 LCDs myself, and so do several other people here in my office.
- EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Does anybody know why people can't test their mirrors before posting? It takes 30 seconds at most to try it out.
- Aalenox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12This one is the desk of a true geek: http://i17.tinypic.com/62gvuch.jpg ... I say this for multiple reasons.
1) The complete disorder of the desk
2) What is actually ON the monitors
3) The fact that the monitors are all different brands / sizes (meaning he bought them at different times, and bought whatever was cheap and functional, not what looked good...)
4) It is 3 separate computers. Likely the main, the sub, and the server (you can see the server keyboard hidden behind a bunch of the trash)
5) The bottle of wine sitting next to the keyboard
7) The web cam carefully pointed up in order to avoid all of the mess on the desk
He only fails in 2 things:
1) The Microsoft mouse. They're more expensive and not as good as Logitech
2) The post-it note on the monitor. It looks like it might hold passwords :( - JorgeGonzalez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I would've liked to see some more "real use" setups. Not these corporate setups.
- nthpro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I know often times people who buy these elaborate set-ups would love to fly but can not due to some disease or disorder (such as colorblindness, and a variety of other disorders).
- KibibyteBrain, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9ask digg: What do you think is the ideal single monitor size for multi-monitor setups?
- victorc26, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I'm getting sick of this too. I'm actually starting to hate digg in a way.
It's almost not even worth looking through the digg front page anymore. - t0mmmmmmm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7how about this one?
http://www.ic.siemens.com/index.jsp?sdc_p=cz3s6uo1267443pn1031338flmi1031581 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9He's a terrorist.
- KarbonKopy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Some of those are CCTV setups and not really monitors, but it's still pretty cool some of them. I'd like to see some home office setups instead....something we can all relate to.
- CrasyMike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think "coolest" was the wrong word...
- captainbeah, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11We could put giant ***** on those things.
- Smeed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The lines that split up the images from the panels would annoy me. Your not going to get as much viewing space but I would probably rather have one huge screen.
Still pretty cool though. A multi monitor setup is a godsend for a heavy photoshop user. - c0ldfusi0n, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11Wow, did everyone just pick this story to whine about Digg? So far in 21 comments there's someone whining about the story's title, on the site being down, Duggmirror's algorithm, story making the front page.... jesus people, if you're not happy, then don't use the damn thing, stop annoying the rest of us with your useless comments and move the ***** on. Is it the full moon or something?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4you lost me at "Geek Squad Double Agent"
1 - Geek Squad is like training wheels for computers, you don't point it out, and you try to avoid it being noticed
2 - I have heard a Geek Squad Agent tell a person he should reinstall windows to repartition his hard drive
3 - $129 to install Antivirus... nuff said
4 - Geek Squad Agents usually act like they know everything about computers, when a 1st semester comp-sci can explain and/or fix anything a geek squad agent can, the difference is, the comp-sci student will: a) explain and/or fix it better, and more thorough. b) understand what he's doing. c) do it right
You can work in the Geek Squad right out of high school, they have minimal training, and are issued a cd the basically holds the hand of the Agent, I don't trust the opinion of the Geek Squad, nor will I ever use their services, and I would rather drive 400 miles to fix a friends computer than let him call the Geek Squad - AgentofId, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Am I the only one that noticed that some of these are fake? to whit: http://www.realtechnews.com/posts/1851
Kind of a poorly cobbled together list... Fakes, Trade-show video walls (wtf?), and an otherwise hodge-podge mess. Dugg down for these reasons. - tdyer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5it honestly hasnt been worth it for about a year now. same ***** every week. same lame ***** adjectives that get digged. same ***** anti-bush ***** that goes top ten....same ***** all the time...

ill have to go with this one http://digitaltigers.com/zenview-arena-ultrahd.shtml - neodorian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The best part is that he's obviously trolling and pissing off some dumb bigots a-la Sacha Cohen.
- chrisntr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4They have gone to all that effort setting up the best game experience ever, yet still needs to have MSN up so they can talk to their friends...
- josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Ummm.... No that is not really that cool.
What happened to The Miniprojector or have they ever thought about OLEDS coming out really soon?
Prices on LCD displays are about to drop like crazy in a year. I like seamless wall displays. I don't want to feel like I am looking out of a window. - Seifey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://pileofphotos.com/pics/pic_1177774949.jpg
Total cost? About $150 of garage sales. - donkz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3it's all fun untill you hear people using digg adjectives in real life in every sentense :)
- cwshea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23124?
- pvliii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How would you go about setting this up, short of additional video cards in your pc? I have a dual screen setup right now.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4down already?
- gmweezel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That's GL tron, NOT armagetron
- RC2k6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2josequtz - what do you mean prices on LCDs are about to drop in a year, you can buy a 19" LCD with a 3 year warranty for $130. That's pretty cheap already.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The one above the picture of the one with the holiday wreath is from a site that was known to be fake.
- gamefreak6401, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The best part is, a bunch of morons think he's for real. That is possibly the most fake Indian comment I have ever seen. Anyone who believes that must take the Onion as real news and South Park is accurate. In other news, some of those setups were meh....
