- sickthoughts, on 02/26/2009, -12/+593I stopped playing it 5 minutes ago and I can still hear it. Crawling in my skin. These wounds, they will not heal.
- SwingKid148, on 02/25/2009, -2/+493If I heard that in a mall or a shop I would never shop there.
- TheCaptainFlag, on 02/26/2009, -10/+485Photoshopped
- josepablos, on 02/25/2009, -1/+405i can hear !!! .. o yes .. 28 and im young!
- visionsofhoff, on 02/26/2009, -3/+388I think its just that older people generally can't figure out how to get the sound to play.
- elfprince13, on 02/26/2009, -10/+289no lie, that's the best pedo bear caption I've ever seen.
have a pixel cookie. - DouglasScott, on 02/26/2009, -1/+25741 and can't hear it. Too much gunfire in my teen years.
- slangmann, on 02/26/2009, -13/+267CRAAAWWWWLLLLLLLLLLINGG INNNNNN MY SKIIIIIINNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- ViperCTW, on 02/26/2009, -1/+250Played it for my 54 year old father.
"Do you hear that?"
"Hear what?" - Shadic, on 02/26/2009, -1/+237I know what you mean with CRTs. The TV could be on mute, and if it's quiet, I could tell if the TV was on in another room.
- nogahide, on 02/26/2009, -2/+20250 here and I can hear it fine..sounds like an old old TV with something wrong with it, super high pitched. Funny because I have bad hearing loss in the speech range, 2000 to 3500 hz, from when I was 16 standing in front of the speakers at a grand funk railroad concert "I'm getting closer to my hooooooome"
I cant hear speech in rooms with ots of background noise but I can sure hear this...wish it was the other way around.
I was always hard to pick up chicks in a bar if I could hear what they were saying (and of course since I was so horribly backward)..LOL - chewbacca77, on 02/25/2009, -1/+191I think this is more of a test of how much you've abused your ears. I know people in their mid 30s that can hear this.
- wigglypig, on 02/26/2009, -4/+191I can hear the pixels. I've heard a lot of pixels before, so I can tell.
- jc7012, on 02/26/2009, -12/+178THEESE WUUUNDS THEYYY WILLL NOT EEEEEUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
- SamSlater, on 02/25/2009, -3/+16533 and can hear it. Yay!!
Hurts your ears though.......
Poor kids will just drink more cider to drown it out. - omenmedia, on 02/26/2009, -5/+158I'm 30 and I can hear it, but I have sensitive hearing. The high-pitched noise from CRTs used to drive me nuts, and often I'll hear high-pitched sounds that others can't.
- mentallyinhell, on 02/25/2009, -3/+151Make it stop!
- Tarkaan, on 02/26/2009, -2/+14230. Am I the only one who ripped off my headphones and went AHHH JESUS CHRIST!
- v0ider, on 02/26/2009, -9/+144FEEEEEAR ISSSSSS HHHHOOOOWWWWW I FAAAAAAAAALLLLL
- TheClassic, on 02/25/2009, -2/+135Can anybody not hear this? I believe in the theory behind it, but I was suprised to be able to hear it so well. I'm wondering if the tone is too low either because of the mp3 encoding or for some other reason.
- batmanz, on 02/26/2009, -3/+133Somehow I don't think she was crying because of the sound...
- TheThirdLevel, on 02/26/2009, -10/+130CONFUUUUUUSSSIIIING WWWHHHAAAAAAAAAAATTTT IS REEEEAAAAALLLLL

- MrTankJump, on 02/26/2009, -5/+96I can't hear it and I'm 18...
Oh, wait, my sound card is broken. - Oatmeal, on 02/25/2009, -3/+89Here's another version of the sound taken from an article on the BBC's website:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/wiltshire/audio/mosquito_soun ... - spookyttws, on 02/26/2009, -1/+76Yeah, I can tell when someones left the TV on when the cable box is off. It always confuses my mom when I tell her she left the TV on from outside the room.
- ParasyteStuie, on 02/26/2009, -0/+7328 and I hear it. That's the same sound I hear when there's a television on in the room, muted. I always know when there's a TV or monitor on around me somewhere.
- coheedcollapse, on 02/26/2009, -1/+74Nah, I actually remember playing this to my wife's family when they were all gathered for a holiday. Although my wife and I (22 and 24 respectively at the time) could hear it in almost ear-splitting volume, all of the adults and even one of the younger people (23) couldn't hear it at all. They kept on making me repeat the noise in disbelief. Some even had their ears right near the speakers. It's pretty weird seeing it in action.
- CleoQKazoo, on 02/26/2009, -0/+71omg I thought I was the only one, I felt like I had some kinda of super power
- julianmaestas, on 02/26/2009, -0/+70my friend has this as his ringtone. it's really annoying, but he always hears his phone!
- Sil369, on 02/26/2009, -3/+72|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| !

- Sludgehammer, on 02/26/2009, -0/+6130 and I can't hear it, I do however, feel a unpleasant pressure in my sinuses when I play the MP3 at high volume.
- N256, on 02/26/2009, -4/+61THESE ORANGES WILL NOT PEEEEEEAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
EEEEEEEaaaall - ncapone, on 02/26/2009, -1/+56I turned it off, but I still hear it.
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -1/+55Whats that? it said REDRUM.. what does REDRUM mean?
- iXam, on 02/26/2009, -0/+5133 and hear it. Damn annoying.
- Peko, on 02/26/2009, -1/+52I'm in my mid 30s and I've definitely abused my ears. I can hear it. I think it's genetics.
- ngb5012, on 02/26/2009, -5/+5585 year old people don't use the internet
- mmittimm, on 02/26/2009, -0/+49I had my 5.1 up extremely loud from listening to music earlier. It was one of those HOLY ***** WHERE'S THE REMOTE moments. Sort of like when Mind of Mencia comes on after South Park.
- Popeiler, on 02/26/2009, -2/+51Not all speakers can reproduce ultra high frequency sounds. My computer speakers are not able to, but my Sennheiser headphones can. This is more of a speaker test than a hearing test.
- KDyneria, on 02/26/2009, -0/+46If I heard this at the mall, I would punch the closest person to me.
- Nodaki, on 02/25/2009, -0/+4632 I can hear it. I want to know of anyone that cannot.
- dmbfan2007, on 02/26/2009, -0/+44What ain't no country I ever heard of! D'they speak English in What?
- BloodyMess, on 02/26/2009, -0/+43I did a quick spectrum analysis of the sound, and I'm sorry to say that for this site, it's only 15Khz (or, more accurately, 14,998hz with an 18,900hz overtone). This sound can be heard by nearly anyone, no matter what their age is. So the site is basically a sham, or at least a very clever attempt to make all of us old people feel good.
If you want to try a better test, do this one:
http://www.jimmyr.com/blog/hearingloss.html
(I max out at 18Khz--I'm 28, and am have been very kind to my ears throughout life. I can hear 19Khz generating my own signal, but the volume has to be pretty high.) - riskybeats, on 02/26/2009, -0/+42Well if you look at the edge of the sound, you can see the pixels.
