- necromancer, on 09/03/2008, -0/+43Set building opacity: 50%.
- freshyill, on 09/03/2008, -2/+25True fact: The Predator's New York office is on the 32nd floor.
- libertygames, on 09/03/2008, -0/+15As someone in the Times comments section points out, this is a far better example of the phenomena: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jschumacher/755337050 ...
- Rev0lver, on 09/03/2008, -1/+13How 'bout a magic trick?
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -0/+5I see they didn't waste anytime rebuilding. Wonder if it still houses all those alphabet agencies we love so much??
- Neolite, on 09/03/2008, -3/+7I'm gonna make this skyscraper disappear...
tadaaa - surian, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4That would hurt sooooo much.
- inactive, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3But, was it rebuilt w/ Larry Silverstein's Terrorism Insurance Protection money (you know the 7+ Billion he received from the attacks) or was it somebody else who took over the project to rebuild? I really don't know how that ended up.... sorry for my ignorance.
ps... that link only has about a third of the offices it had before. - Cl1mh4224rd, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3building#wtc7 { opacity: 0.5; }
- understudy, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3Except you could have actually seen this live, unlike many things 'Mindfreak' Criss Angel does. Angel has been outed numerous times for using camera tricks, film editing, and stooges to achieve the majority of his major 'stunts'---methods considered to be the lowest form of the art.
Criss Angel is a joke who caters to a young and naive demographic. But until they change the channel, he'll camera-trick his way to more money.
_ - psibladeZX, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2I used to work at the Bank of New York (ugly white building right behind world trade 7, located 101 barclay)... on my way to work sometimes in the morning, when the lighting was just right, world trade 5 and 6 looked like they were see through (the building to the left of wt7 in this pic is world trade 6)... so this definitely was not photoshopped... I know from seeing it every single day...
- r1y23, on 09/03/2008, -1/+3Everyone knows that light cant disappear steel!
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -1/+3Dugg you up, but isn't "true fact" a tautology? Or are we all that cynical now?
- card51short, on 09/04/2008, -1/+3a plane never hit building 7
- bort27, on 09/03/2008, -1/+3Yeah that's a good plan... make all the buildings invisible, and planes will never hit them!
- card51short, on 09/04/2008, -1/+3"or a ***** jet plows through several floors. you know, whatever."
A jet plane crashed into building 7? - Cl1mh4224rd, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1> "I see they didn't waste anytime rebuilding."
Uhh... don't tell me you *just* found out they rebuilt WTC7? Construction began sometime in 2002 and the building was opened 2.5 years ago. (They had to clear the site quickly, anyway, so they could restore the ConEd power station to supply needed power to Manhattan.)
> "Wonder if it still houses all those alphabet agencies we love so much??"
Here's a list of 7 WTC tenants as of September 2007: http://www.wtc.com/about/office-tower-7/7-wtc-tena ...
The answer to your question would appear to be, "No." - blaker00, on 09/03/2008, -4/+5Is this to make it harder for them to fly a plane into the building again? Like active camouflage or something? I don't get it.
- Fragle1980, on 09/03/2008, -0/+1Just moved to Wall Street... I will need to check this out. The area is surrounded by amazing buildings, I suggest to anyone that has the chance to check it out.
- davewashere, on 09/03/2008, -2/+3I feel obligated to add a WAKE UP SHEEPLES!!! to this thread.
- gothicform, on 09/03/2008, -2/+3Here's another see-through skyscraper -
http://www.skyscrapernews.com/images/pics/1639Broa ...
The facade is usually reflective but with the sun setting and the light behind it you can see right through it. - freshyill, on 09/03/2008, -1/+2I really wanted to drive home the fact that I didn't just make it up.

- cotne007, on 09/03/2008, -0/+0I live in Minneapolis and if you look at the skyline from the west at sunset quite a few of the glass covered buildings can disappear into the blue sky.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0DmeWm9fPg&feature ...
this isn't the best view of the skyline but you can tell how the buildings would look like if you were facing them from the sunset. - Technoidatx, on 09/03/2008, -4/+3One of my favorite pictures is one I took during a bike race. The Frost Bank building blended with the sky and looks transparent
- TheVigilante, on 09/04/2008, -2/+1So when the terrists come back for Round Two they won't be able to find the building they need to ram?
- thanatostrigger, on 09/03/2008, -3/+2Was David Copperfield in town?

- kmb1794, on 09/03/2008, -5/+3Yeah that doesn't look see through at all. Why not say, "Reflective Buiding"? I'm not sayin' it ain't cool but Jesus, can't somebody stop grandstanding for once? Oh wait, it's a blog.
- zoom1928, on 09/03/2008, -4/+1I thought Bush claimed in his State of the Union speech that this building was destroyed by terrorists? Was he lying again?
Obama 2008 - seven07, on 09/03/2008, -11/+8great idea, if you can't see it, you can't hit it.
- seanstuart, on 09/03/2008, -4/+1Wake up America! It's a hologram! 9-11 never happened, man! I'm serial! It's all like, a government lie 'n' stuff, man!

- bdsams, on 09/03/2008, -6/+1eat your heart out Mr. Mindreak
- rpieszak, on 09/03/2008, -9/+4Misleading title, was hoping for an actual transparent building. Booooo
- deaftly, on 09/03/2008, -6/+1Photoshop'd
- spikes, on 09/03/2008, -18/+13Hopefully this one doesn't fall down if a few offices catch on fire.
- wallyhartshorn, on 09/03/2008, -8/+2'shopped.
Okay, it wasn't really, but that was the first thing I thought when I saw it. :-) Cool photo! - serif69, on 09/03/2008, -15/+4Wow you're an insensitive prick.
