- lashtal, on 04/07/2009, -1/+263Center of mass is completely wrong, it is calculated as weighed average coordinates of all particles. (weighed depending on particle density), because weight distribution in cow's volume is not uniform.
Second, cows are usually not rigid bodies, so some of applied forces will be absorbed by deformation of the body. - jasdf, on 04/07/2009, -0/+117I doubt the center of mass is that low.
- junml707, on 04/07/2009, -0/+90There are many, many sites that EXPLAIN the fact that cow tipping is impossible. But you know what the real proof is? The cold hard evidence?
The internet itself.
You can find internet videos of the most unlikely feats, retarded pranks, and all forms of jack-assery... crap no one would or should ever think to do... until some idiot DID. And it's all posted on Youtube for the world to see.
But yet cow tipping, this pastime that EVERY single person has heard of, and the pastime that everyone's friend's cousin's brother claims to have done ALL the time back home on the farm... not a single video. Not one. Anywhere. Doesn't that seem a BIT unlikely if cow tipping is actually possible to do?
For me, that's all the mathematical evidence I need... - noahgelman, on 04/07/2009, -1/+77Cows don't have nuts, they're female....
- nckswt, on 04/07/2009, -0/+56Thank you! That was bugging the crap out of me. Glad to see someone picked up on it first.
- votingprawn, on 04/07/2009, -0/+51**Udders. Cows don't have balls.
- RichMUrrills, on 04/07/2009, -25/+721: Find field
2: Tip cow
3: ??????
4: Profit!!!! - kimbja98, on 04/07/2009, -0/+45You would also need to account for drunkenness and loss of coordination and the fact the cow is a dynamic system and may resist being tipped over. I'd think running would work well; the transfer of momentum would be key to a successful bovine toppling.
- johnwoo32, on 04/07/2009, -3/+4532 diggs and popular. No science needed to see we all need to get some friends on Digg.
- inactive, on 04/07/2009, -0/+38According to the article, you ARE 2.07 people...
/No fret, me and you together would be 3.8 people
//The article seem to assume that only 15 year old girls are "1 people" - RogaDanar, on 04/07/2009, -1/+37My center of mass is in my balls too.
- PhonicUK, on 04/07/2009, -0/+35They never left.
- shadowspawn, on 04/07/2009, -0/+32You're udderly wrong.

- Ki77erB, on 04/07/2009, -1/+32I think you failed. Can I get a confirmation on that?
- Locke23, on 04/07/2009, -0/+27And the old memes are back.
- jud420, on 04/07/2009, -3/+30no, you haven't.
- sildude, on 04/07/2009, -1/+28Sir, I believe thats a fail.
- NovaBandit, on 04/07/2009, -0/+25Doesn't really matter. Cows don't sleep standing up.
- lakmethemud, on 04/07/2009, -0/+25It's a 32 belly option on 2, on 2.
- inactive, on 04/07/2009, -1/+25Thanks for ruining my joke.
- robotwarlord, on 04/07/2009, -0/+24No one visits Digg without wanting to waste some time, Not even you internet tough guy.
- Cheddar79, on 04/07/2009, -1/+24If you want to know how to fail at cow tipping...watch Tommy Boy.
- jud420, on 04/07/2009, -0/+23Cows dont sleep standing up. Cow tipping is when a group of hillbillies get some city folk liquored up and tell them they're going to go push a sleeping cow over, drop them off, then drive away. Cows can also be upwards of 2000lbs, and with a low center of gravity, would not tip easily even if you were able to sneak up on a cow while it was awake and standing.
- inactive, on 04/07/2009, -1/+21Guys, this dude's just a troll. I see his name come up all the time.
He calls himself "Syntaxgs" and tries WAY too hard to use bad grammar, syntax, punctuation etc...
Just look at his other comments. He's just a ***** douche... - grizwald, on 04/07/2009, -0/+20anyone who says they have been 'cow tipping' is a liar. Cows sleep lying down.
If you doubt this, just go to any dairy farm and look for yourself. - chanop, on 04/07/2009, -1/+20They do not sleep at all standing up. Not all cows walk away. There are docile cows that wont budge if you jump and scream in their face. My sister has a dairy farm, took 5 of us to tip a smaller cow. It didn't just clunk over either, tried to correct itself before it stumbled and fell. We felt like dicks after doing it though.
- mkrygeri, on 04/07/2009, -1/+19I'm convinced that you cannot tip a cow. Never seen it and never met someone that said they have done it THEMSELVES. I'll believe it when I see a video. It's a total urban legend.
- GreenLynx, on 04/07/2009, -0/+18***** you, two of my friends died trying to recite old memes.
- corr1756, on 04/07/2009, -1/+19dude, how many times are you going to post this exact comment in this thread?
Seriously, were you abused by people who claimed to be Cow Tippers?
Were you raised by Cows?
What is the possible explanation for your passionate hatred of Cow Tipping and Cow Tippers. - MtheoryX, on 04/07/2009, -1/+18In Soviet Russia, cow tips you!
- votingprawn, on 04/07/2009, -0/+16Those would be udders. Cows don't have testicles.
- inactive, on 04/07/2009, -1/+17as NovaBandit pointed out cow tipping is largely BS
- minerva43, on 04/07/2009, -0/+16Thanks, jud240. My friend owns a dairy and said it's next to impossible to tip a cow because they don't sleep standing and they will resist you trying to knock them over. You can't tip a cow, all your liars.
- rg2589, on 04/07/2009, -0/+16Buried for use of "n" instead of "N" for newtons of force.
- Post4Cash, on 04/07/2009, -0/+15And obviously not American
- jjmckay, on 04/07/2009, -0/+15Who you gonna call? Mythbusters!
- UKLooney, on 04/07/2009, -0/+15Yes, my cows sleep lying down too.
- 10lbhammer, on 04/07/2009, -0/+15sup dawg, I hear you like old memes
- AlyxVance, on 04/07/2009, -2/+16Cow tipping is an urban myth. I dare anyone of you to try to tip over a cow, which don't sleep standing up like horses do. You could have 5 linemen from the NFL rush a full grown cow and it would NOT tip over. These are some of the most sturdy, steady footed animals I've ever seen.
They're big, but I guarantee you're not going to tip one over. - slvrbullet87, on 04/07/2009, -0/+14@Jeremy
No at 6 1 140 you are bordering on underweight and a gangley lookin bastard. i am 6 foot 180 and at normal weight for my hight
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_mass_index - jtorkbob, on 04/07/2009, -0/+13They said they can't do it cause it would hurt the cow.
- Javarrito, on 04/07/2009, -0/+13Cows naturally have horns. Usually, the buds are destroyed at a young age in dairy cows to prevent the horns from growing, which can be dangerous to handlers and other cows.
- Th1rte3n, on 04/07/2009, -1/+14Just assume a spherical cow in a vacuum...
- dazparkour, on 04/07/2009, -0/+13Having lived on a farm - not true.
Even if it was - you were planning on eating it. - fuetuvoz, on 04/07/2009, -0/+13wikipedia tells me you're lying
- NathanielJ, on 04/07/2009, -0/+12I'm pretty scrawny, 6 feet tall, and weigh 165lbs.
The average adult male weight in North America is about 190lbs. - dsendecki, on 04/07/2009, -3/+15You don't have to tip cows in Asia.
