- Myztry, on 09/21/2008, -2/+259DO NOT let the advertising companies get wind of this...
- VipeNess, on 09/21/2008, -0/+156I bet that would really freak you out at night time if you didn't expect it at all and had the radio turned down.
- shannimal, on 09/21/2008, -0/+147Does it take requests?
- S5S5S5, on 09/21/2008, -0/+117RIDE IT WHILE YOU CAN, it's being closed and repaved on Tuesday!

- dtd00d, on 09/22/2008, -0/+43Actually it was used by Honda. There are 4 across the world made for Civic advertisements.
My dad just called me today while he was driving over this one and apparently the town around them is annoyed and is paving over it on Tuesday. People just go across it, turn around, and go over it again and again. [1]

- thegrantman, on 09/22/2008, -0/+27They're paving it over because it's bothering the residents. What residents? I don't see anyone for miles around.
- bratterscain, on 09/21/2008, -0/+26Awesome, like the grooves on a record track. Would be cool that when you pass over it too fast, it makes a sound like someone saying "slow down". Cool or creepy, you decide.
- elnerdo, on 09/22/2008, -0/+23We do this in the States, too, at least in New Jersey.
- metalgel, on 09/22/2008, -3/+24haha the road should play "never gonna give you up",....rick roll while you roll ;)

- Myztry, on 09/21/2008, -4/+23We use rumble strips in Australia. In specific "wake up and stay alert" spots and as edge markers on highways.
- AmyVernon, on 09/21/2008, -3/+21In six months, are we going to read stories about how many people crashed after being startled by this?

- compgeek, on 09/22/2008, -1/+15a road that's actually cool and could probably bring some tourists through what looks like a sleepy area and the idiots are repaving it? bravo
- wild, on 09/22/2008, -2/+16Calm down. No need to blow a gasket.
- McG2k1, on 09/22/2008, -1/+13I used to work at Disney in the mid 90s and they were going to etch these into the roads along with embedded reflectors that would ding tones when you rolled over them. The idea was to play Disney music on the drive into the park. Thousands of cars playing its a small world. yeesh.
Of course they realized both ideas would result in tourists driving too fast and out of lanes just to hear the music. - Maxmaxxwell, on 09/22/2008, -1/+13FAIL

- sexybobo, on 09/22/2008, -0/+8We have them in the states also mostly on the sides of highways so people don't fall a sleep and drive off the roads but they also have them in the center of windy roads so you don't drive in to on coming traffic.
